***** That's awesome man :D So many eyes will see this conversation and i just want to tell the people who are reading this that no one should alter your opinion of yourself regardless of your weight, race, religion, gender or any other irrelevant difference because you are an amazing human being made up of trillions of cells that keep you alive and your heart beating right now. Don't waste this one chance of life because whether you believe that earth was created 4 billion years ago, or 2000 years ago ------> everything that has EVER happened, literally EVERYTHING has led up to this present moment right now as you're reading this. Billions of people have died before you for you to exist right now. So many wars have been fought, lives have been lost, tears have been shed for your place on earth right now as you read this, maybe even mine depending on when you read this. Humanity has been through too much for you to think you're worthless, or worth less than someone because of who. you. are. Humanity has been through too much for you to give up on your dreams, or let other people talk you out of your dreams because they want you to be like them: fucking mediocre without ambition, going through life with no sense of passion or drive so they can't watch you rise above them as it would kill them inside to see you be who you want to be. Here's a paradox -> life is the longest thing you will ever experience, but it is so short. Most people go through life, they get a job, get a wife, get a house, get some kids then they die. I like to think of it like this: It's like a firework, that failed to explode. Everyone thought (when they were born) that this is an opportunity to be an amazing explosion of colour but it just didn't happen. Where was the bang? Where was the flash? it didn't happen. They were too busy doing pointless shit, like gossipping, or trying to be cool, or trying to fit in, or trying to attract girls or guys by being extremely flirtatious until they no longer respect themselves, without doing anything they can truly be proud of and smile about on their deathbed. I mean truly proud, for example, Dave Grohl I imagine will have an easy transition from life to death because of all the things he's achieved (obviously depending on what your beliefs on what an achievement is). But these people who gossip and cheat and lie and do all of these pointless things will realise how pointless the things they did were on their deathbed. (I hope we're all lucky enough to leave the world in comfort next to our family and friends). I really hope that for you whoever is reading this, truly. This means their dying thoughts are going to be how they didn't do the things they wish they did because they were scared, or followed what everyone else was doing because they wanted a safe, mediocre life when they knew they could have been so much more. This is exactly why it is said that the graveyard is the richest place on earth because people's dreams are buried with them. If you're reading this and you know you've been too scared or shy to make that first step, whether that is writing that first book, performing that song in front of people for the first time, asking that girl/boy out (that's a big one), standing up to that bully, simply being yourself around the cool kids or telling your grandma and grandpa that you the them before they are gone, you will regret it for the rest of your life. That regret will be forever with you in the ground. NOW is the time to act. If not now then when?? Seriously, when are you going to make that step? What is the worst that can actually happen? Maybe you ask the boy/girl out, literally the worst thing that could happen in that situation is she says no. At least you had to COURAGE to ask them, and there are millions of other girls/guys! Then the other possibility is that he/she says yes and then you'll be so happy :) or maybe you submit a piece of artwork into a gallery, the worst possible thing that could happen is that they reject it, which is fine anyway because any form of art be it painting, music, dance, writing (i believe writing is art) is subjective so it is just their opinion so your art is not 'bad'. Then obviously the other possibility is that they love it and that's great :) So finally, my message to whoever reads this is: For the people who died so you could live, make your life a story of courage and triumph to honour the people before you. Do something amazing for humanity and leave a legacy after you die. 'When writing the story of your life, don't let anyone else hold the pen' and NEVER give up on your dream no matter how big, the bigger the better. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something because they wish they were as ambitious as you. And while doing this, never forget to love each other as we are all humans coexisting in this beautiful, mysterious planet. Accept differences in each other and learn to love them rather than hate them. Respect the life you have and love yourself too because you will always be you for as long as you live, no matter how hard you may try to be someone else. Don't leave your dreams in the dirt. Peace
You ever have a perfect musical moment? Was riding a train home from the beach earlier today just as the last light from the sun faded away and the sky became 5 different colours as it darkened. I shuffled my playlist and this was the first song to come up. Bliss.
Probably the song my brother and I listened to the most in homeless times back in 2015. I remember every day that passed. It took a mile to and from the store to get small portions of food to feed my family, and my little sister would always ask when it'd end. I'm glad it ended. But when I hear this, I have a bittersweet feeling of loving this song for being there for me where no one else was, but also because I remember every day we were trying to live on. Thanks BoC.

This is part of why people post here so much about drugs, it's not that you need them but personally when I was 100% sober all the time, I just couldn't be so goddamn absorbed and enthralled by every minute detail of a song. I needed speed, super catchy rhythms, lyrics, just constant stimulation, after I started to smoke weed I found myself valuing music with no words and chiller pace that allows you to drift into the deepness of your own thoughts and experience meditative states such as BoC's.
I agree with the other sentiment: this is my fav BoC track as well... it checks all the boxes.. the constant looping baseline synth part is so grounding and the flute part meanders around it so nicely!
What color is it for you? The baseline seems to be a greenish/black, like an iridescent beetle, and appears in forever space, while the flute is a liquid veil of timeless lavender flowing spirals
5:07 Amo Bishop Roden: "They talk about cults and say that cults are dangerous but all you ever actually see in the news is governments killing cults. You never see cults killing anybody." At least she admits they're a cult.
In my diary blog this was the theme for what is still currently by far the coldest day of the 2020s in the UK (11th Feb 2021), as well as the default Washing Up music for a time in 2021-22 (though it was not used in 2022 and replaced towards the end of 2022 by 'Pandora Palace', which is still the current one although that isn't being used either).
Unfortunately, the power of music has two ends. Music (BOC-related) can be happy and depressing at the same time. What is nostalgic and happy for one side is depressing and calls to mind bad memories for others. Sometimes felings are mixed. Everything depends on who you are, where you live, do you take drugs or get intoxicated often, did you love your parents etc. RUclips comments rarely refer to music. But they always teach us another lesson, don't they? :)
Completely drifted off to this then woke up still remember it was daylight sun light was still there wasn’t night trees sun wow this song can float you to other realms* _x

A week ago, Spotify mistakenly listed a boc concert to take place in London. Immediately reached out to my best buddy I've known since age 4, ready to buy plane and concert tickets. Most excited minute in a long time..
Try being out in the middle of nowhere in the countryside at one in the morning. That, my friend, is an excellent experience. Lone is another great listen in that adventure.
I'm floating in an electronic sea of tranquillity, only peace, comfort and serenity are with me. Even in the haze of our struggling economics, i forget days listening to these beautiful electronics. +
From this basic cover art I can imagine just a greenhouse with misty water vapor surging through the vegetation. The is one wholesome piece of music by highly underrated artists.
I had a recurring dream when I was younger (after hearing Music Has the Right to Children for the first time) about exploring a stately, but dilapidated house... With a two-story tall greenhouse attached to it, via a short hallway. The house itself was abandoned, and the greenhouse overgrown from years of neglect. Most of the glass panels lining the walls and roof were broken, and a thin layer of dirt and grime was spread across every surface. On the wall, perhaps ~30 feet up, was an engraved metal plaque which just read "Sixtyten".
its nature and technology in wonderful harmony that many of boards songs remind me of ... like some future id like and i think they exist somewhere out there ;) or in here ;)
& I love how we're all enjoying this & posting positive comments. Finding so many people that also really enjoy & understand & appreciate Boards of Canada is so damn cool! It feels like we're all somehow this kinda family thats operating on a higher level of mind & heart & soul & magic. Almost like we were all seperated at birth even if our ages differ somewhat & like we've never met but some how always known eachother telepathically or something. No one needs to be high to enjoy something...You get high so you enjoy the things you enjoy while sober even more. what you are saying makes no sense.
Like the guy below says..best electronica Barr none. Superb.
I live for this music.
WONDERFUL
I love the Police Dispatcher in ambience at 4:35...
It's actually an (advertisement?) about the branch davidians
5:07 Amo Bishop Roden: "They talk about cults and say that cults are dangerous but all you ever actually see in the news is governments killing cults. You never see cults killing anybody."
At least she admits they're a cult.
In my diary blog this was the theme for what is still currently by far the coldest day of the 2020s in the UK (11th Feb 2021), as well as the default Washing Up music for a time in 2021-22 (though it was not used in 2022 and replaced towards the end of 2022 by 'Pandora Palace', which is still the current one although that isn't being used either).
this amount of emotion this fills me up with is actually indescribable.
One half of BoC fans: nice
the other half: I DISTANCE MYSELF FROM THE ARTIST'S SATANIC BELIEF, THIS UPLOAD IS NOW ONLY HERE TO INFORM ABOUT THAT
Wonderfull music. The kind that leaves no space for fragments of hate, doubt of fear. Easygoing, mellow, words won't cut it. Pure love
this is a sound i have always wondered about, and finally BOC have made a song about it . what a universal sound . love this
Completely drifted off to this then woke up still remember it was daylight sun light was still there wasn’t night trees sun wow this song can float you to other realms* _x
boc creates unreal tracks
Boc are my fave just as V the mini series affected me and of course the Atari 😉✨
The first time that I'm (omg so) happy that a seed got stuck in a part of my head.
This song reminds me of "Where I end and you begin"
from Radiohead :D
this song reminds me of my cat. sometimes he watches us from the window in his tower when we leave to go somewhere and he’ll run up to the door like a dog when we come back
This music is an ALTERNATIVE to drugs, not an ACCOMPANIMENT.
WORD!!!
2024 and still amazing
timeless music
Transcendental ..reminds of somewhere, sometime.
Ive been listening and playing thier records forever...love BOC! Especially a beautiful place in the country
I can listen to this so many times and it never gets old.
One of their best and it's a remix...crazy.
Awesome sounds
love that distortion that keeps popping up starting at 1:30. sounds like a solar flare
I know right it's so damn cool
I still cant get over the memories i remember that arent mine but are stil yet familiarvthat is the essence of the boards sound and being a kid from the 70's helps !!! God I love them so much if i died tonight id be happy knowing i have been touched by their brilliance !
I wish BoC would play live again. I'd book my tickets and go see them play no matter where it was.
A week ago, Spotify mistakenly listed a boc concert to take place in London. Immediately reached out to my best buddy I've known since age 4, ready to buy plane and concert tickets. Most excited minute in a long time..
@@felix-dk9tr hahaha yeah I saw that but I didn’t find enough information about it.
Absolutely beautiful, so great for visions. The picture it creates is so euphoric and clairvoyant.
Try being out in the middle of nowhere in the countryside at one in the morning.
That, my friend, is an excellent experience.
Lone is another great listen in that adventure.
I think... I really like everything BOC has done. Always finding and discovering new tracks to enjoy
This remix was one of the first things from BOC I heard, and it's still one of my favorites
boc invokes memories that don’t exist with melodies
Boards Canada songs are my FAVORITE SUBLIMINALS , it goes straight to decalcify my gland
Ever notice how the logo is moving away
w h o a
never realised it !
I cam't see it...???
I think we are moving not the logo.
@@roodivalentino2416 bruh
Oh, you have no idea how I do miss you, dear poppy lady.
Poppy kiss of death
That synth motif is great.
Soundtrack to a lot of things in my life.
Thanks BoC.
You're right, I used to do that a lot myself, not anymore. I just hang out with you guys and listen to jams :)
I'm floating in an electronic sea of tranquillity, only peace, comfort and serenity are with me. Even in the haze of our struggling economics, i forget days listening to these beautiful electronics. +
this sounds like in a beautful place out in the country and smokes quantity in one track
Replace "smokes quantity" with "oirectine:
oirectine is a combination of turquoise hexagon sun and iabpoitc as well
What a diversified piece of art...They did it again!
Sitting under a sitty tree i see.
That wood pigeon is for me.
Patience will deliver him to me.
However no one will ever see...
The best part of this track is from 0:00 to 6:57
haha totally. one of my faves
Chris Hopcroft the best part
Chris Hopcroft .. to 6:57 -> again -> and again -> 0:00...to 6:57 -> and again...
On the wall, perhaps ~30 feet up, was an engraved metal plaque which just read "Sixtyten".
its nature and technology in wonderful harmony that many of boards songs remind me of ... like some future id like and i think they exist somewhere out there ;) or in here ;)
Inspiration in every track. Thanks BoC.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS SHIT IF YOUR on DAY OF AN ALL NIGHTER AND TRyinG to stay AWAKE fuck....otherwise good music.
Boards of Canada is the best magic that ever..
I want this on a loop for the rest of my life......................
Yet another BOC classic, an eerie masterpiece like so many others.
