Lim is acting like Shaun went out of his way to paralyze her. Whether Shaun was right or wrong, he did what he thought was best to save his friend’s life. If Lim wants to be angry at someone, be angry at the man who stabbed her and her friend.

I understand that Lim is having a hard time, but she (being a surgeon) knows that post-op complications occur. It doesn't matter matter whether it's a routine or complex surgery. Everytime you operate on someone, you're taking a chance. Shaun wanted to save her life without taking 10 years off it, he had her best interest at heart. Shaun was so pissed when they chose to use the bypass machine on Owen instead of her to show that he absolutely cared for her wellbeing.
Maybe someone should tell her that.
I get she needs someone to be mad at, so let's see how this goes.

Thank you! I may not have ASD like Shaun but I do have CP (mild) and a moderate intellectual disability so I see things differently from others, I get that Lim is upset but any surgery is risky. As mad as Glassman is at Shaun it hasn’t stopped him from still seeing Shaun as a good surgeon which he is, yes potentially a different call might’ve ended with Lim still being able to walk but whose to say that, what if Glassman’s surgery went wrong and she died? Or it could’ve ended the same way as Shaun’s.
Shaun’s condition does make him seem in compassionate but he cares for those around him and Lim is a friend and he wanted to save her life, he shouldn’t be treated as bad a guy for making a different call which yes he did do as a rouge but in his mind it was the right call.

I think the issue here is the show has shown time and time again that surgeons make mistakes that can have dire consequences. In the first season, Claire didn't intubate someone properly, and it resulted in her death. The question here is will Lim just refuse to acknowledge that fact or let her own anger blind her and make rash decisions. If the "The Good Lawyer" backdoor pilot is about Lim sueing Shaun, I doubt it will end well for her. I could see that ending with the lawyer pulling up dirt on Lim with a story of one of her patients dying or becoming disabled after a surgery. Or the lawyer will absolve Shaun, and it will result in Shaun either cutting ties with Lim and Glassman or leaving the hospital for some time.

    • @kbraven7007
      @kbraven7007 Год назад +3

That or Lim quits or Andrews fires her, since judging from Lim’s grudge she doesn’t want to be in the same room as Shaun and Shaun vice versa (look what happened when he met up with his dad again), while Andrews would be more annoyed with the case and the publicity that could damage the hospital’s reputation and a potential civil war within the staff and I really think Lim is leaving this season, since all of the signs are pointing to it. Maybe also set up Shaun as chief of surgery or something.

I'm so disappointed in where this is all going, and in Lim herself...
I get why Saun did what he did. He went through a lot of losses. His father killed his rabbit, then his brother died not very long after, and more recently, he lost his and Lea's baby girl... :'( So he took Lim's near death close to heart and he couldn't bear to lose another person he cared for! And Lim was someone he for once COULD save, unlike Steve or his unborn daughter, or even his rabbit... But now said person hates him, and if Lim really ends up suing him, then... it only means she was never worthy of Saun's care to begin with. :(
And it really just upsets me how one unfortunate event is destroying good relationships that were build-up throughout years..! It shouldn't be this way! 😭😭😭 Isn't the long-term good more important than one bad thing?? But apparently not, since Saun not only lost a friend here, but he's also losing his father figure!! It's just so unfair... :'(

A rift is going to happen between them and I hope Lea mends the rift between them. Glassman can't help but see Shaun as a helpless child. Lea told Glassman in 2×11 that he isn't a helpless child. I have a bad feeling that Lim is going to sue Shaun for malpractice. This will cause a huge rift between Glassman and Lim vs Shaun because Glassman and Lim firmly believes that Shaun should be held accountable for not following instruction, resulting in Lim's paralysis. Shaun will probably need to make a speech to defend himself in front of the medical board, so he doesn't lose his medical license. The aftermath is Shaun will never be able to fully trust or see Glassman or Lim the same way again. At least Lea will be there for Shaun through thin and thick every step of the way. 🤷

I have a feeling like that too. This season is confirmed to be 22 episodes. I doubt they'll drag this storyline throughout the whole season though. Maybe up until mid-season. But there will be lasting consequences. Lim and Glassman have basically been Shaun's parental figures throughout the show. And the writers said Glassman will struggle with Shaun not needing him as a mentor anymore. When children grow up, parents find it very hard to let go and understand that they'll make their own decisions. I think that's what Lim and Glassman can't get their heads around. Shaun has become a confident person who is sure of his medical judgement. He's grown up. Whatever happened during the surgery happened. Still, turning their backs on Shaun is a step too far. I have a feeling that in the end, probably by mid-season, Shaun might quit St. Bonaventure and we could have a time skip. He won't want anything to do with Lim and Glassman if this storyline goes where I think it's going. And after a rift like that is created, you wouldn't want to be around those kinds of people, so Shaun will want some distance, and Lea will follow him. Shaun is her husband and I doubt she would stomach working around people who would turn their backs on her husband. If Shaun does quit, something big will have to happen for him to come back.

Not necessarily. It’s hard to empathize with someone if you don’t know their experience truly. But relating to paraplegia is really hard. You’d have to live like one to truly appreciate how hard paraplegic life is. Who’s gonna do that? No one wants to really.
Also it’s not okay that shaun “messed-up” but shaun also made a clinical judgement call on changing surgical parameters and patient signs. To not adapt and continue may have also ended her life. Shaun had a knack for trying to find solutions to problems that appear. In 5x07, when the baby was APGAR 3 and Code Blue, he used alprostidil as an adjunct therapy to attempt to correct a baby’s heart defect. Typically they use PGE. Alprostidil is PGE at different concentration.
It’s like if he used an epi pen dose from a syringe and then changed the dose and amount of epinephrine by mixing saline and the actual epinephrine to create a new concentrations. For example, going from 1:1000 concentration for Epipen or racemic to 1:10000 for cardiac arrest.
He did that here, finding something that would drastically lengthen her life, with the unfortunate cost that it would render her paraplegic.
I get the thought that quality of life should be considered but no one could have predicted paraplegia.

I feel Lim needs to see her therapist again.
But also at the same time, if by some chance at the end of this, Shaun kept his job, I feel like it would probably not be a good idea for Lim to continue being Shaun’s boss because there’ll be a obvious direct conflict of interest considering. Basically, every time that Audrey needs to make a decision that involves Shaun, its going to cause some to wonder if her decision is impartial or is bias due to the circumstances.
Meaning that the endgame should really be them never working together anymore and I have a feeling that this might actually be a lowkey way for the writers to tell us that there’s a 50/50 chance her character will be wrote off or as a reoccurring character unless if they could somehow make her character still somehow work. Had it have been Shaun in that chair her ass would feel completely different. After all those years u know Shaun and you know he would never intentionally hurt anyone even when justified. But because you got hurt ur ready to turn on him. The way I see it she's not a real friend and she's ungrateful. Let’s remember that Glassman's idea wouldn't have allowed Lim to live more than 10 years while the paralysis wasn't actually something Shaun knew but just happened. Let's remember he was the most worried about Lim when they had to decide between giving the bypass to the shooter and her (being Shaun the most worried about it, not being sure) and also the fact that they didn't had the necessary equipment for the surgery made it one hundred percent more difficult for it to work.
Shaun never wanted this, he didn't even knew. She has the right to be mad or to be uncomfortable near Shaun, but she can’t act like if he wanted to leave her in that position because he was just trying to save her in the way he thought was the better one.

No he’s wrong, if anything Lim and Han are being more unprofessional.

I kinda agree with you but mainly because the show refuses to address Shauns failings properly and have him work on them.
This storyline is similar to last season when Lea covered up Shauns bad patient reviews.
This time Glassman is covering up Shauns arrogance and refusal to follow protocall.
I really don't understand how so many people are defending Shaun so much.
Shaun went against 2 of his superiours, he (a resident) overruled the president of the hospital and his own mentors orders.
Lim is now paralysed. It'd be different if this was the only outcome but Shaun took matters into his own hands and isn't even having to deal with the concequences.

I agree, the world has become too friendly to peoples differences and there is no incentive to work on social skills

When I look at the whole story, the content of the story is not important, the focus is on the contrast between the characters. Sean combines Walter and Toby, Lea combines Happy and Paige, and Lea's name is also called paige in real life. When The good doc season 2 When the emergency room is completely isolated by the virus, a pregnant woman has to give birth, and finally Sean rescues the pregnant woman and the baby, and the pregnant actress officially Megan. And also in seasons 2-10. Scorpion.

Dr. Lim is blaming Shaun for her being in a wheelchair. She should blame herself for trying to take in that woman with an abusive boyfriend, while she was incapable to involve herself. She's in a wheelchair for getting stabbed which could have been avoided had she put that woman in more capable hands.

like some are being too harsh on Lim. Just because Shaun has ASD doesn't mean that he always deserves special care and intentional different perspectives on his actions by others. Lim has her own life, own emotion, whole bunch of things to take care of just like Shaun. Seems like sometimes you put generosity as a default for Shaun but no such thing to Lim or possibly other non-ASD or non-handicapped characters just because they are in some circumstances at a better condition relative to him. True but also not so true. GOSH for all those seasons she showed care and benevolence towards Shaun, can't others at least show her even the least tolerence...? (In reality, a boss who treats Shaun like her for years of patience and not giving up on him is really a unicorn......It's just that she NEEDS TIME like EVERYBODY ELSE including SHAUN no difference there.)

I hope someone shakes Lkns character into realizing that she is making a big mistake and that her ego anger is going to destroy everyone in her path and it can be to late to amend her wrongful acts towards Shaun she will end up losing more than what she wanted to gain and make poor Shaun lose.

Really where was Lim's outrage and backbone to hold someone accountable when the woman lost her baby last season due to no medication in stock.
