According to what I've heard so far and read from JVP statements, it was a joke made by somebody. Therefore, I am not sure whether your accusation about them asking the 2 million in cash is accurate!!?? 2)2019 election fraud case that you’re pursuing against election commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya obviously started because of Gotabhaya’s election nomination acceptance by the electoral commission, regardless of NOT having conclusive evidence of the renunciation of his US citizenship. Now, we know Gotabhaya indeed forwarded his application for US citizenship renunciation but was being processed by the US authorities at that time while the presidential election was going on in Sri Lanka. Was that not the case? Lets say commissioner rejected Gotabhaya’s nomination based on the lack of evidence of US citizenship cessation, then Gotabhaya could’ve simply produced the application to prove that he indeed initiated the process which will be finalized while the election was going on or after. In that case, the law that forbids dual citizens from entering the parliament still would've legally applied to Gotabhaya with the provision of ongoing US citizenship cessation application. I don't see a reason why that is a big issue legally, unless Gotabhaya was willingly misleading Sri Lankan public with intention of NOT pursuing the renunciation of his US citizenship. Based on legal technicality had the commissioner still refused the nomination application from Gotabhaya until he produced the conclusive evidence, it would’ve gone to court and a possible streamlined court outcome would've been possible that favors Gotabhaya's presidential nomination application to the electoral commission. We do understand, what the election commissioner did and what Anura Dissanayake/Sajith Premadasa did/did not has affected the outcome of the presidential election in the form of Gotabhaya’s nomination(or at least his nomination without any impediment at that time due to his dual citizenship was still technically active while the election was going). 3)Are you chasing the above court case because of the injustice you suffered due to the refusal of your nomination by the election commissioner, who still ignored Gotabhaya's potential dual citizenship? Or are you continuing with this court case purely because of it’s public justice elements? Had you have the ability to contest for the presidential election under another party(had they not betrayed you), would you still have filed the court case against election commissioner(and Gotabhaya)? Last but not the least, avoid giving Buddhist sermons at the end of any of your speeches, particularly not in Pali(Magadhi) language. There are enough good and not so good Buddhist monks in your country to give sermons from Buddhist Sutras. Your Buddhist sermons bring bad taste to the mouth(at least people like me) of the people who are sick and tired of hearing Buddhist sermons from criminal and crooked politicians in Sri Lanka.(Premadasa being the 'best' among them). Leave the Buddhist sermons to Buddhist monks if you are serious about your work and if you want anybody to take you seriously.
I sincerely believe you’re barking up the wrong tree and causing more harm than any good by trying to prevent JVP from becoming THE major political force in Sri Lanka. While being well aware of the damage that’s been done by the two major traditional political parties to the country and it’s future, it is highly advisable you see and understand the good the JVP can do, at least in the area of economic recovery. What I find very surprising as well as astonishing is the way you put JVP in the same basket as the traditional major political parties. I am not sure whether you’re inadvertently missing the bus or intentionally missing the bus here. JVP has a history of mistakes. Not just the mistakes from two bloody insurrections that have failed and did not produced much good. Since their re-emergence in early 1990’s as a democratic political party, they’ve made mistakes and even betrayed their core beliefs or tenets by working with two major parties at inappropriate times(as well as appropriate times). However, accusing them as corrupt group comparable to SLPP & UNP makes no sense, and IS an act of spitting above your head. Few opportunistic mistakes that they’ve made DOES NOT make the JVP a corrupt political group. Your stance against the JVP is unhelpful at best and nonsensical at worst. You need to act and react in a more mature way in political arena than this. Do I believe Anura Dissanayake is trustworthy in every aspect? No, I do not, and nobody trusts anybody in that regard. However, you can trust him(Anura) and the JVP that they will do great work toward the recovery of the economy and to rebuild the country’s economy without destroying the limited natural resources of the island. Anura Dissanayake is being truthful by NOT promising to ditch the executive presidency the moment he win the election. He is clearly saying that it will take time and won’t happen in 2025. No false promises there. You guys need to take time and discuss the key elements of next political constitution before turning that into a full-fledged document and pass through the parliament. Then you will have to go through the proper process of new election(s) to establish the new system. You better NOT do these kind of things in a hurry. I realize you prefer JVP go into the next election with a new constitution agenda with the promise of immediately implementing it and reorganize elections. However, you need to carefully consider the pros and cons of a major constitutional change at a time you country’s about to collapse economically. Not a wise move IMHO. Nagananda, you understand very little about how to be a politician as you haven’t been an active politician yet, other than your attempt in 2019 to contest for the presidency. I suggest you improve your political literacy more with your public service work(particularly your great public justice litigation work) and become an elected MP first. This is the time you need to work with a group like JVP. Attacking them is a very foolish act by you, because you do have more in common with them than you do with the crooked two major political parties in Sri Lanka. Avoid blaming the JVP for not joining you on your public justice litigation work. They are likely more focusing on rebuilding and growing their presence throughout the country. It is likely they do not have the resources or time to work with you in some of those cases the way you do right now or it is possible they view the public engagement work they are doing now are more important. Yes, it is preferable they work with you. It is upto the JVP and you(Nagananda) to work together in areas you guys can work, in order to improve the quality of life of the people in Sri Lanka. Nagananda, forget about finding a ‘clean’ person to lead the country without politics. That has no chance of succeeding in this life. There are no such ‘clean’ person in leaderships or politics. You show lot of immaturity in active parliamentary politics even though your public justice litigation work is phenomenal. You need to grow up really fast politically if you’re to engage in active parliamentary politics in foreseeable future. If you have any intention of getting back to active parliamentary politics anytime soon, consider NOT picking hopeless fights with the JVP and offer assistance to them instead. You will have a better and more realistic outcome for the suffering people of the country by acting that way.

Last but not the least, avoid giving Buddhist sermons at the end of any of your speeches, particularly not in Pali(Magadhi) language. There are enough good and not so good Buddhist monks in your country to give sermons from Buddhist Sutras.
Your Buddhist sermons bring bad taste to the mouth(at least people like me) of the people who are sick and tired of hearing Buddhist sermons from criminal and crooked politicians in Sri Lanka.(Premadasa being the 'best' among them).

I sincerely believe you’re barking up the wrong tree and causing more harm than any good by trying to prevent JVP from becoming THE major political force in Sri Lanka. While being well aware of the damage that’s been done by the two major traditional political parties to the country and it’s future, it is highly advisable you see and understand the good the JVP can do, at least in the area of economic recovery.
What I find very surprising as well as astonishing is the way you put JVP in the same basket as the traditional major political parties. I am not sure whether you’re inadvertently missing the bus or intentionally missing the bus here. JVP has a history of mistakes. Not just the mistakes from two bloody insurrections that have failed and did not produced much good. Since their re-emergence in early 1990’s as a democratic political party, they’ve made mistakes and even betrayed their core beliefs or tenets by working with two major parties at inappropriate times(as well as appropriate times).
However, accusing them as corrupt group comparable to SLPP & UNP makes no sense, and IS an act of spitting above your head. Few opportunistic mistakes that they’ve made DOES NOT make the JVP a corrupt political group.
Your stance against the JVP is unhelpful at best and nonsensical at worst. You need to act and react in a more mature way in political arena than this.
Do I believe Anura Dissanayake is trustworthy in every aspect? No, I do not, and nobody trusts anybody in that regard. However, you can trust him(Anura) and the JVP that they will do great work toward the recovery of the economy and to rebuild the country’s economy without destroying the limited natural resources of the island. Anura Dissanayake is being truthful by NOT promising to ditch the executive presidency the moment he win the election. He is clearly saying that it will take time and won’t happen in 2025. No false promises there. You guys need to take time and discuss the key elements of next political constitution before turning that into a full-fledged document and pass through the parliament. Then you will have to go through the proper process of new election(s) to establish the new system. You better NOT do these kind of things in a hurry.
I realize you prefer JVP go into the next election with a new constitution agenda with the promise of immediately implementing it and reorganize elections. However, you need to carefully consider the pros and cons of a major constitutional change at a time you country’s about to collapse economically. Not a wise move IMHO.
Nagananda, you understand very little about how to be a politician as you haven’t been an active politician yet, other than your attempt in 2019 to contest for the presidency. I suggest you improve your political literacy more with your public service work(particularly your great public justice litigation work) and become an elected MP first.
This is the time you need to work with a group like JVP. Attacking them is a very foolish act by you, because you do have more in common with them than you do with the crooked two major political parties in Sri Lanka.
Avoid blaming the JVP for not joining you on your public justice litigation work.
They are likely more focusing on rebuilding and growing their presence throughout the country. It is likely they do not have the resources or time to work with you in some of those cases the way you do right now or it is possible they view the public engagement work they are doing now are more important. Yes, it is preferable they work with you. It is upto the JVP and you(Nagananda) to work together in areas you guys can work, in order to improve the quality of life of the people in Sri Lanka.
Nagananda, forget about finding a ‘clean’ person to lead the country without politics. That has no chance of succeeding in this life. There are no such ‘clean’ person in leaderships or politics. You show lot of immaturity in active parliamentary politics even though your public justice litigation work is phenomenal. You need to grow up really fast politically if you’re to engage in active parliamentary politics in foreseeable future.
If you have any intention of getting back to active parliamentary politics anytime soon, consider NOT picking hopeless fights with the JVP and offer assistance to them instead. You will have a better and more realistic outcome for the suffering people of the country by acting that way.
