Just found you on Pinterest. I was looking up glass Christmas trees and yours popped up and I went on you tube and found you. I have a lot of glass and don’t know what to do with it OMG I’m in love with your broken glass Christmas trees. Thank you for sharing.
Love the trees. I just made one with the shells and starfish on top,, got alot of oohs and ahhs,, hope someone buys it, it may be early ,, fingers crossed.
The trees are stunning, I love the candy tree it’s my favorite. I’ve been using KS for years. It works great for my portraits. Thanks for sharing your beautiful art. ❤🤎🤍🧡💛🎃
I have been struggling with painting with iridescent paint. Thanks to your video, I’ll get the Artists Loft iridescent medium. Thank you for all your many tips.
That’s great yes you can do it with mod podge I believe I’ve only done the smaller crushed glass with MOD PODGE but I think I’m gonna try this fire glass with MOD Podge, and see if it works out
@@crazyglasslady You've got nothing on me. I have guitars, miles of chords, and gizmos and gadgets laying all over my music room and a bunch of stuff on my desk that has no relation to each other.....my wife must think I am nuts!
Thanks linda. And keep putting out your videos cause I love watching you. Wish I could find the deals you do at your thrift stores ours are so expensive. I'll keep it rumbling fir a wk wish I do normally but have taking the glass out after 5. Merry Christmas
Ooooh Linda I love those they are gorgeous xxx. I am so jealous of your garage sale finds. I’m hoping to find some great stuff at boot fairs soon here in the uk 🇬🇧 xxx
Yet again another amazing video! I love these little trees and feel inspired. We dont see many garage sales here in London but we have car boot fairs which are pretty cheap. I'm going on a hunt this Sunday. Thank you, Linda . Love Liz
In this case, I did not use any glue but sometimes if I have a hard time holding things down, I will use some glue under it, but not for the Christmas trees I did not
First, your house is beautiful and I can’t imagine where you put all that you make since you don’t sell, etc. second, I need a different glass cutter with the wheels to cut the thin vases. Can you give sizes or information? The one I have cut plates very well. Is there another video where you talk about cutting different shapes from vases to bottles? You have me hooked. 😵💫
In this link I am using the nippers to make flowers. If you scroll through my videos I cut glass to make butterfly wings and another i cut glass to make sails for a sail boat. In one I am cutting glass to make Christmas trees. Just know that sometimes when you are trying to cut a certain shape and you fail it isnt you because sometimes the glass has a mind of its own. LOL ruclips.net/video/E2_0SFWKZ9o/видео.htmlsi=gm3FZ0j1LKIO8_wk
I probably used 2 oz but a lot of people will tell you that is too much I usually use more then most. Most all resins have a website that hav what they call resin calculators . You put in the size of your canvas and it tells you how much resin to use. You have to remember it does not take into account the glass.
Well, I do not sell anything so I’m not really sure of pricing but if you’re looking to make them and sell them, you could probably look on Etsy and see what they’re going for also, I have a Facebook page and that’s a good place to ask questions
Those are all so beautiful. Do you think ks resin is fine for all projects or should art resin be used for glass and other mediums? Thanks. Ps I’m so jelly on your finds in Florida! Great day on your shopping. My garage sales are few and junky stuff.
KS resin the one that I used. It is good for canvas and glass on glass but this particular one you can only pour up to 1/4 inch deep. So would be good for a coaster or ornament, but nothing deeper. They do sell deep pour resins. I have found that a lot of the deep pour resins are not good on canvas they leave fish eyes. All resins have websites and they usually explain what each product is made for.
@@crazyglasslady oh thank you so much for the info. That’s what I thought I learned but wanted to be sure and somehow forgot about the 1/4 inch only for KS.
I have varying sizes of clear containers ( Like storage containers that you would get at Walmart) with lids that I remove the lid and put it upside down on top
Hi! I was thinking it would be less expensive if I bought clear crushed glass and color it. What do you recommend I color the crushed glass with and will it be flammable after input resin on it (I’m using J Diction). Thanks!😊
Well alcohol ink is flammable . What color are you wanting? I usually buy clear fire glass from amazon and use it to make different colors by spraying with spray paint. If you just want to make a bunch one color you could probably for example get 10 lbs for $25 dollars and make 20 or more trees that size You can buy in smaller quantities at Michaels and color. If you just want to make one Hobby lobby has a 1 lb bag of pretty green glass called mosaic accents back on the same isle as the stained glass it is in bags.$4.99 I think.
Hi Linda Marlaine Gillis here from PEI Canada. I have been finding sea glass for years. I started watching you and love your work so I bought a rock tumbler couldn't get the 36grit but use 30 to 60 grit I bought at hardware store. I use sand like you did in one project waited 48 hrs and glass was not rounded on edges like yours. Cant seem to get it looking like yours not sure what I am doing wrong. I fill it 1/2 to 3/4 full put 3 to 4 table spoons of grit and fill to cover glass with water. The glass is not sharp anymore but just not rounded nice like yours. Where do you get your 36grit from.
So I can not find the 36 grit on amazon any more either but you should be able to use 60/90 and tumble for 7 days and it should be smooth and rounded. The longer you tumble the smoother and rounder it will get.
3x12 Michaels They have sales all the time check on line to see if they are on sale before you buy they come in pkg of 3 here is the link on sale nowwww.michaels.com/product/3-pack-level-1-4-x-12-deco-canvas-by-artists-loft-10150855?michaelsStore=2110&inv=2
This glass I bought on amazon it an about 10 lbs and comes in a bag but you need to rinse the glass first. It is enough for about 15-20 trees depending how large. The glass is beautiful in person. amzn.to/3GfO73p
I accidentally touched my canvas when the resin was extra sticky. It's too thick to move around, so is there any way to smooth out the spot I touched? 😭
You will have to let it dry then put a thin coat of resin over it. If it is only an hour after you have poured some times you can heat it and it will smooth out. You do not have to reresin the glass just the canvas or you could glue something there if it is in a spot that you could like snow flakes or something
So you will not be able to just cover that little area because you’ll be able to see where the resin starts and stops you will have to put a thin coat over the entire area of the canvas
You are hilarious with your yard sale finds mixed with your sense of humor. :)
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! LOL Garage sales are starting up agin now that the weather has cooled down some.

Love it!!!!! i am having fun doing the trees too...don't you like that iridescent medium on the canvas? i loved it too...
Yes I do!
Love, love, love your creations. Do you tape off the back of the canvases?
Only when I remember LOL which isn’t often. I usually remember right after i get all the glass on. 🥴
These are stunning! I love garage sales too. Do you use glue for the glass or does drizzling the resin act as a glue? Thanks so much for sharing.
