_This is probably the best After Effects tutorial I have watched this year, and I watch tutorials almost everyday, but a lot of them do not delve further and, more often than not, their hasty explanations leave the viewer with additional questions, which go unanswered. This tutorial, however, is professional-grade; the detailed way whereby he explains each of the effects' nuances clearly shows his proficiency with the program; the thoughtful way in which he instructs shows he actually relates to the viewer who knows nothing or very little about the effects in question by going through everything in fastidious detail. This is fantastic!!!! This tutorial alone merits subscription to his channel. No, I am not getting paid for writing this._
I absolutely love this series, going through what the native effects do and how to use them. I’ve been a long time AE user and always thought I should dedicate time to learn them. But projects and life got in the way. So thank you for making all of these! I love them!!
Do YT AE tuturials get any clearer, completer and straight to the point then this? No, they don't. Thx Jake, this channel is the absolute best. Saving up for explainer camp and rigging academy!
Great tutorial from an invaluable series. Recently I've been using other tutorials to find out how to achieve certain looks and then cross referencing with Jake's series to gain a better understand of how the individual effects within those looks work. Then you're able to create something yourself and improve upon what is suggest so you're not simply recreating other people's work.
thanks Jake. this is great. after watching several youtube tutorials on how to make stuff look "chromed out" - - finally one that actually explains what the controls do (instead of just set softness to 26, now set height to 30...). much appreciated ✌
aha! now I see how you gonna cover all effects! 3 at a time! )) But jokes a side, I see that all these 3 FXs are very dependent on the quality of the bump image, right?
New to after effects. Really like this effect but for the life of me i cant figure out how to track effects. So like the cc glass effect, I have it working fine, but i am using it with a video, when the video plays, the effect of the object under stays in the same spot, even when linked to the tracked null object. Ive tried this with an adjustment layer to no avail. Does tracking not work with effects? Thanks. And thank you for this video
sorry, think i may have figured it out. The tracked object and the null object have to be pre composed together. Then, the effect referances the new comp. So like the cc glass referances the new comp that has the track in it. Sorry, still gettign confused withall this hahaha, but leaving comment for others who may be like me. Thanks again

Legendary channel, Jake. Honestly Adobe should be ashamed that they haven’t created anything like this. This is wild. Love watching these videos
CC glass is probably one of the most powerful effects in AE, I'm CONSTANTLY finding new uses for it

CC glass is great for adding a paper grain texture to a layer. Or leather etc.

"Transform -> Fit to Comp Width." It's like a whole new era of workflow efficiency has opened up for me.
Also give Ctrl+Home a shot to center the layer in the comp

how do download plastic cc? please help mi
It's inbuilt into After Effects and found under the Effects and Presets panel so no need to download anything additionally.
