Grant Writing for Journalists

This panel, excerpted from a session at Double Exposure 2020, analyzes successful grant proposals to funds that primarily support journalism. Representatives from the Fund for Investigative Journalism and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting review a successful grant application in conversation with the grantees, to part the curtain on what it takes to present a winning proposal and successfully execute the project. What kinds of stories do each of these funders seek to support? What should applicants make sure to address? What should they steer clear of at all costs?
