  • I'm getting close to that multi-engine rating! My instructor and I do a mock check ride today in the Cessna 310, with simulated engine failures, slow flight, stalls, and more.

    She is SO good at working with the defense mechanisms (we ALL do them, of course!). Amazing skills of guidance and assurance, what a great example in helping you rise to the occasion!

    Wow she did so well dealing with his lack of humility, his excuses, his rationalizations and ego! Less yapping more flying and learning, he just seems irritated he’s not even close to perfect. I would love to have her coaching me!

    Wouldn’t you turn the traffic pattern into right traffic because you don’t want to turn into your dead engine?

    • @wyflyguy114
      @wyflyguy114  2 года назад

      Ideally yes. However, in training they will have you turn into the dead engine to keep you aware. Also it may not always be possible to make right traffic given terrain and other aircraft.

    • @virtualpilot1400
      @virtualpilot1400 2 года назад

      You will have to turn into the dead engine, more challenging, more aircraft control needed.

    Why would you gear up with so much runway left ?

    • @friznogg
      @friznogg 3 месяца назад +1

      The gear down creates drag. It has nothing to do with how much runway you have. It's harder to climb in a landing configuration. Gear up when you have a positive rate of climb.

    Morning Coffee down the RUclips rabbit hole..WY Fly Guy..Behavioral Science thing,,Try to avoid "cryptic" phrases in your .RTO/EO briefing to self (ie "if we get in trouble","abnormality" "etc etc") Instead be "literal"(ie "in the event of engine failure,,fault,,warning, "etc etc'") There's ample evidence it'll help your brain jump into the task load necessary to cope..DoubleG ATP/MEI
