I used the Killer Hogs BBQ Rub and followed this recipe exactly other than placing the Dutch oven inside my kitchen oven. My smoker isn't big enough for the Dutch oven to fit. My family and I really enjoyed the flavors on the meat. The pepperoncinis complemented the meat nicely. I ended up popping a few of them in my mouth as they were full of the broth, soft and delicious! Thank you Malcolm - you made me a hero tonight.

I made this yesterday - followed the recipe almost exactly, except all I had was apple wood and my Ugly Drum Smoker, which started losing heat when a storm blew in, so I finished it in the Dutch oven inside the oven. Came out great! My wife even loved it!

KiaOra Malcolm, I cooked up your Po'boy today on my Weber down here in Aotearoa/New Zealand and it was AWESOME! (or in NZ we would say "O for Oarsmen!"). Had to get the chuck roast delivered from a farm up the way and replace a few of your "exotic" ingredients - used Rich Gravy Powder + a beef stock cube for the Au Jus mix and a recipe for Ranch Seasoning (minus the buttermilk powder) I found on the Net - and it was sensational! You're right about the richness and the need for a big chunk o' bread to handle it, I also added some 'slaw to tame it down some. I love your recipes and like your style, dude. Much respect to you from (the real) down-under.
We just got around to making this today. This was a flavor explosion. We put it on onion rolls. Killer with spicy potato salad. This "working from home" thing sure allows for smoking great meats. Throw it on at lunch time and let it smoke all afternoon during conference calls and... Bam, killer dinner. Thanks Malcolm. You keep changing my life.

Made this on the weekend in my Weber for some friends. Smoked it with some Red Gum as I live in Australia. Was absolutely delicious. Even the next day it was just delicious. Highly recommended to make as it's also very simple. I didn't have the Ranch Powder but still tasted amazing.
