Resilience: Recovering the California Condor from HPAI

In the spring of 2023, an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, or HPAI, struck the wild California Condor population in Arizona and Utah. What followed was an unprecedented flurry of activity as The Peregrine Fund and our partners worked to save as many of these Critically Endangered birds as possible-and to minimize the impacts should a similar outbreak ever occur again.
