What I have to say about the 2002 Toyota Avalon: The Avalon is a very great reliable sedan. If your looking for a nice roomy comfortable sedan, but don't want the image or the price tag of a Lexus go with the Avalon. They are just as luxurious and reliable as a Lexus and has a nice compliant ride. The styling of the Avalon is a tad plain but most people looking for a full size sedan aren't really looking for style, their looking for comfort. All in all great car from Toyota.
I’ve got a 2002 with 350000 miles still going strong
My Avalon has 188,000 miles and still running beautifully.
I have a 03 Avalon and it have 186443 miles and lock good
J Johnson whats the mileage update?
My avalon has 404000 miles and runs like new.
Home Sweet you broke the record!
My 2003 was at ~190k and going strong until it got rear ended on the freeway last week. I'm pretty sure she's totaled :'(
I have a 2002 XLS with 200k and it runs drives and looks nearly new not even joking this is one of the best cars ever built by Toyota
Dame straight. Ive own two of them in my life.:-)
I agree. I'm in a 2000 XLS with 184,000 miles and it drives like a Lexus. Smooth and quiet. Can't even tell it's on.
+Elissa Jones Yeah very nice car it's got 217k now since my comment last year still rides like it's a cloud I think the 2000 to 2004 Avalons are the best ones I read a list online of top 10 longest lasting cars the Avalon is number 1
Eric Cymbura, I read that article, too. I think our car was the only non-truck on the list. I see these cars for sale with over 250k miles pretty frequently. I'm not wild about the body style, though. I call the car a nurse's shoe. Comfortable but kind of stodgy.
+Elissa Jones can you imagine what they drove like new the 2000-2004 ones
6:13 brought me back to a better time.
Gorgeous car. If only sellers took care of theirs as this one.
Great info
I have a 2002 Avalon XLS with 110,000 miles on it and it works great. I've had this car since I was 16 years old. I'm now 18 and it drives well and for first time buyers out there, its a great car for anyone and I recommend this car for first time buyers because its safe reliable and it has great features. My only con is the MPG because I live in CT and everything is far away and then i get lousy city miles which is like 20 and HWY is 30 and I LOVE IT!!!
If you have questions, hit me up. thanks.
Michael McMahon how long did it end up lasting?
@@Lvrenzv I have a 02 right now going to be rolling over 280k in the next week
Just bought 2001 avalon. LOVE IT!!
My 03 xls has 210k miles the one with wood trim and wheel and factory heated seats like mine is the top model
Just got this for my daughter with 109k. Not bad for a 20 yr old car.
If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay?
5,495
love my 2001 Avalon its silver less then 100000 miles only 76000 miles
great review!
Love my 2000 Avalon with 131,000+ miles on it. Bought it with 61,000+ miles in 2004. Desert Sand Mica. (gold). Do the maintenance and it will go the distance!!
I love this powertrain. I have the same one in my 02 Lexus RX300 and it's just fantastic.
I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon XLS with 55,000 miles
Bought a 2002 XLS today. 88K $1500. How lucky am I!
No way. I just bought one for 3k yesterday yikes 130k drives like hot knife in butter
@@giwasrides3663 I think we both have many trouble free miles of motoring in our future.
Crazy
You got lucky that's a great deal for a 2002 xls i purchased one last month mine is 03 Avalon with 170k miles runs great i paid 5 k cash i love the car runs smoothly lots of space the car is excellent shape i am from Austin TX
Ya its a great reliable powertrain
i know a guy that has 300,000 on his 2006 avalon Amazing cars!
Mute warning for 6:15 One direction inbound
I like this avalon :)
I have an 03 XLS but I'm using s junkyard grill with the gold logo and prefer it. 2000 pre facelift grill. I don't see nothing wrong with that design. They are good looking cars, but i guess there's a few who think they're ugly. 🤷🏽♂️
Ooooo key illuminator!!
i see what you did there...lolz
It's an important feature.
the only thing i dont like about mine other then the minor fixing n cleaning is that it sits too low to the ground and theres 2 spark plugs thats not easy to get to. I love the way my 02 xl drive very smooth like its not even touching the ground. i think today it has over 156k miles when i got it it was under 120k 😎. Right now looking to diy properly wash under the hood n replace the coolant tank it has sand in it. probably need to flush out the whole system.
The Avalon is considered a full size car, all the competitors you listed were in the "mid size" class.
form109 Maxima full size, taurus full size, impala full size.
@@bman_dc in the early 2000's they weren't fullsize cars.
Competition were the Buick Century and Chevy Malibu. The Maxima and Taurus were not full sized until the 2010s.
If anyone doesnt know, these were always having VVT issues, knock sensor issues, as well as BUNCH of other things.
Mostly electric
If you notice the issues before they go really bad you should be fine. Toyotas having electrical issues are pretty rare, unlike Volkswagen.
Toyota Avalon that car look just like the Lexus two door Japanese some of those in jeans are strong some of them are weak You just got a buy the right car. I still like Japanese cars I’m not hating on you
Good👍👍
Does it have a aux
I have 2002 avalon 23500 miles
what's below heater/ac? cigarette outlet??
never heard of the Avalon till I bought my 03 xls. but then who needs to advertise them they do that themselves. is it a good car you bet your a.. it is. any regrets or buyers remorce lol. my advice look it over take it home and start worrying about something else
How was this compared to the Maxima!?
There's a huge comparison between Maxima ( Nissan) Avalon (Toyota) Toyota are made to be far more reliable, dependable, and all around made better. I've owned 3 Avalons, a 3 Corollas, and 2 Camrys and none was a disappointment in my 60 years. I also have owned A Pathfinder, Infiniti G30, 2 Cadillacs and none of these cars were as loved as any of my Toyotas where I've gotten 470. 000 to 600. 000 miles on them as they were still running wonderfully when I passed them down. Nissan hasn't come close to the Toyota bran in my opinion.
I have a 2002 avalon XL and I want to know how to program a remote control
Where were they made?
hubcaps in an Avalon.. seriously
I have a 03 Avalon and I am looking for a 08 too a 2010
“Interior lumination”
It's such a shame we never got the bigger toyota saloons like the avalon In the uk. Also the camry which we had for a short time In the uk never had the bigger engine. I think toyota missed out on a good part of the market by replacing that part of it with their lexus models. I want the camry estate to come back in fed up of seeing bmw, audi, and Mercedes estates suv, s and 4x4s Everywhere. TOYOTA please stop this madness and give us a big estate car again.
هاي
Well my Avalon has 122k and has been ONE BIG FKN HEADACHE since ohhh about 80k miles or so
