  • The start of my biggest adventure yet. Travelling from the Gold Coast, all the way to the west side of the Simpson Desert to attempt a solo crossing and then back again. In this first part I make the journey from Innamincka to Arkaroola Village.

    Great vid mate. I ride solo quite often myself and I find it quite relaxing. I use a Spot GPS tracker just in case anything goes wrong. Works without phone coverage and has a button on it that allows you to call up medivac etc if anything really dramatic goes wrong. Ah just saw the Garmin!

    What an adventure. Is the Garmin the way to go in Australia? Does it have all the unsealed roads/tracks on it? Google maps no good?

    • @_JoshJB_
      @_JoshJB_  5 месяцев назад

      I got the Garmin because I don’t want to use my phone as a gps. I need it for my drone and want it to grab a quick photo or video as well. It’s been great and I love it, sometimes it might not show a track here and there but 99% of the time it’s been solid.

  • @TechnikMeister2

    Interesting fuel consumption. 5Lt/100kms. Thats the same as I get on my DR650 on gravel roads. I guess the 400 is more highly stressed, but a lighter bike for the rougher stuff.

    409km is pretty good for outback riding on the safari tank. You may have eked another 20 or 30km by tipping the bike over on the fuel tap side and using the fuel from the RHS of the tank.
