    The baby fur looks more lighter than their mother but a bit darker than father. They really are their parents’ cute offspring.

    How do you know if female wants male out of cage? We just had our first birth with two kits. Dad seems to be attentive.

      Animals are very unpredictable. The female may be fine one time with dad in the cage and the next time not be. Also a female is capable of breeding back (conceiving) anytime within the first 72 hours after she has littered, so that is something to take into consideration. You don't want to continually let the female breed back. Another option is to put dad in a cage next to the mom and babies.

    The cages also look small for chinchillas, I hope it is not their permanent home or at least they have plenty of walking time

      with breeders they keep them in those cages, hopefully she removes dad to prevent back breeding, and the babies will get more milk from mom their whole time growing up til weaned, otherwise if he gets her pregnant again she can sick, produce less milk, stop feeding them all together or possibly die from stress.

    Please use Kaytee paper bedding. Wood no good.
    I had 7 chinchillas, 20 degus and countless other pets and exotic pets over the years.

      I use anti-pill fleece. But I also have a two tier ferret nation cage for my chins not chicken cages like this breeder is using. Only time to use wood shavings specifically aspen is in their litter pans.

    Don't you have to remove the dad from the mom so he doesn't get her pregnant for the second time in a row?

    • @crystalray2907
      @crystalray2907 6 месяцев назад

      hopefully she did, they breed right away and that's bad for mom, with back to back breedings.
