Its weird!!! I likr them to have nice, dark/black eyes & dark grey ears.... Is that so much to ask???! Lol

The baby fur looks more lighter than their mother but a bit darker than father. They really are their parents’ cute offspring.

That's so weird that they are a lot of times born light and then turn DARK... whereas with horses (the "world" I'm from/exist in) do the exact opposite... Well mainly with Gray's or I guess some people call them white even though there's technically no such thing as a "white" horse, because their skin is always dark gray and they are born almost black and if they do actually have pink skin and white hair from birth they are technically an albino?! But all the pretty white looking horses UCI movies and whatnot or ones that are extremely light gray are actually born almost black and then way you know that they're going to be gray is by the fact that they'll have kind of silver hairs around their muzzle... But if you're super lucky like one and every thirty or so stay dark beautiful dappled steel gray almost their entire lives. I wish these guys came in like they kind of hamster color I'm just referring to it as that because I kissed that probably is something chinchilla people know better than horse stuff...? But the ones that have like a stripe down their back, horses that be called like a buckskin color or there's different types of guess they'd be like a gray with a black stripe down their back and black around their eyes and nose kind of and black legs b black tail and ears.... That would be so cute or if they came in that dappled gray color.I was going to save you really cute as they came in like a paint or pinto color but I guess the Mosaic one's kind of do especially some of the ones I've seen that you yours have had have been like extremely dramatic two or even tricolor and they really do look like little pinto horse chinchillas?! I think one that you decided to keep what is my absolute favorite like his front end or something was black and then he act like a gray patch and his tail was white....?? Never seen one any like that at all?!!!

Oooomggg what a bunch of roly poly, chunker guts!!! I wanna motorboat THEM. ALLLLL! Hell, the "boring/plain" standard Grey's with their lighter bellies are probably in my top 2-3 favorite colors anyways, since I guess I'm a sucker like that?! Brrrrrrt! YEAAHAHHH you over there on the right- the 1 with the marshmallow you're holding in front of yourself, thinking I won't see yo- OH NVM. EVEN BETTER!! That be NO marshmallow, THAT'S simply the extension of that already GLORIOUSLY ROUND, PUDGY BELLY!!! I would PAY good money simply to TICKLE that tubby tub tub chunky floofy fat tummy for even 10 minutes... let her get tackled by her siblings while I just take a finger tip or 2 to tickle it, pleeeaaese?!?!?!?

She sniffs it & is like, "GAH!! WTF IS THAT!?? Honey, dear,... YOU TAKE CARE OF IT!? GROSS!!"

Hahaha, I'm just picturing my dad's fatty McFatFat horse, Cortez, who could roll all the way over MAYBE 1 outta every 10 tries & sh** did it look like an EFFORT whenever he did. Would kinda get perfectly onto his spine then pause there, kicking his hind legs like "COME ON, UNIVERSE, I GOT THIS FAR, HELP A BROTHA' OUT WITH THE REST, PLEASE!? MAYBE A SMALL BREEZE!?"

Was NEVER "WALK" THIS way, sheesh!" R.I.P. Vern, the only DOG I ever loved!? Sry, im mainly a horse/cat person!?) I guess there probably ARE any number of species of animals that can be born with dwarfism, we just don't SEE it often since in the wild, I doubt they... last too long 😭😢? Luckily for this little dude, people LOVE even tinier versions of EVERYTHING, even if its already barely 2lbs full-grown, haha. I bet you had to all but beat people off with sticks who wanted that little nugget as a pet-only chi-chi!

The cages also look small for chinchillas, I hope it is not their permanent home or at least they have plenty of walking time

How do you know if female wants male out of cage? We just had our first birth with two kits. Dad seems to be attentive.
