Im an owner of 6 chinchillas at the time , 2 female adults, 2 male adults, and 2 kits a female and a male. Do you have any tips on distinguishing when one of the females has been bred in a colony? Because the kits kind of came as a surprise to me.
Don't do a colony with more than 1 male, they can fight to the death. When a female is further along in her pregnancy her nipples will enlarge and turn pink. I usually remove a female from a colony once I know she is pregnant.
