Like I said yesterday, I wanted to give this storyline the benefit of the doubt. I knew it would be rushed and badly written. I accepted that the creative team needed a contrived reason to get rid of Ben, while keeping his support cast (his daughter and his husband) in Walford. I just figured that, the writers have spent so many years, now, building the Ballum relationship, that they wouldn't just torch it and run. That they'd poured so much energy into it, over the last few years, that they would at least have some respect for it. But no, apparently we're going to make Ben a thief and a pathological liar (making him take huge steps backwards, as a person, after all the growth he's done, the last few years), and we're going to torpedo Ben and Callum's relationship on the way out the door. Maybe things will improve before Ben's last scene, but I have my doubts. This is stupid and awful, and I don't like one bit of it.
Even if they have a great scene tomorrow, the damage is already done. The storyline is completely nonsensical and has thrown character development into the trash.
@@shaunacurley1032 Noit right away I wouldn't think. Callum is too loyal to start something that soon. I think he would stay single for a long time - his trust will have been knocked for six.
A better exit for Ben would have been doing the mental health route, him deciding he needed to be better for Lexi once and for all and booking himself into a mental health facility for a period of time to work on everything in a more intensive way. Callum could stick around until Ben gets out and they go look for a place elsewhere Then at some point in the future Jay gets a call from Ben asking him to bring Lexi to him. Ben and Jay having a custody agreement- like Lexi stays with Jay for school time and goes to Ben during holidays so she wouldn't be up routed
Honestly. I hope they take Ben back in a month or so then they can play off this horrible storyline. I hope they take max back and not just recast again. Couldn’t see Ben being played by someone else
Unfortunately I don’t think Max would play Ben again :( I don’t think EE producers liked the fact Max was partying outside of work so that’s why he’s been axed :(
@@vampsmyths100% agree I hope they realise their mistake and take him back. Their viewers will drop massively due to many people saying it’s not worth watching now.
So Ben left a message for Lexi but didn't leave it for Callum... This show doesn't do anything right. I really hope there's a goodbye scene between Ben and Callum tomorrow. It will be very low and in bad taste if the show denies this to the characters. At least that.
A better ending would have been for Ben to be arrested for being the Walford attacker from a few years ago and finding out that Lewis turned him in since he was one of the few people who knew. I don't think those crimes were ever revealed to the Police. I know Callum and Sharon also knew but they never told anyone. At least he would be jailed locally and not in a prison overseas. Anyway, a credit card fraud of only about $5000.00 would not have been an international affair and not yield a long prison sentence. I'm from the U.S. and the credit card company would have just written off the debt and make the credit card holder not responsible.
I’m curious what Callums role will be from now on. Ballum was a fun pairing! Although it’s a bit funny to me because I recently got into a new soap couple, which last time I mentioned on here, I got a lot of hate for it lol. But it’s John Paul and Carter from Hollyoaks. So that will be my new fill for me atleast.
Tomorrow’s episode will be based on Zack and Whitney. I don’t think Ben appears at all in tomorrow’s episode. The end of an era, good whilst it lasted, but a terrible ending.
@@busterkeatonsbriefs I’m looking at spoilers and they’re not even mentioned. I hope there is, it’s Lauren’s birthday tomorrow. And it will involve Zack and Whitney. It’s not confirmed that we don’t see Ben.
I’m pretty sure there were some spoilers for tomorrow saying Callum tries to pull some strings to help Ben, so I’m pretty sure their last scenes are tomorrow.
Linda but I wish not I feel bad for Linda don't want her getting sent down so her precious son johnny needs to do something about it to keep his mom out of prison
I'm a little confused by something here. That police woman or DCI... I forget her name, sorry. Anyway, in her short conversation with Jay and Callum at the end there, she said that Ben is a *"flight risk."* (I hope I've heard that right) Does anyone know what that means please?
@littlemissie7978: He would abscond - go on the run. The person who puts up the bail money loses it, but Phil has stolen so much over the years he could probably afford to - that would be the court's thinking - and let's face it they are probably right.
No she's not a cop or detective chief inspector her names Ritchie Scott she's a brief solicitor that's defended Phil's case that's why Phil and Ritchie's got a good connection together
When Ritchie said bens a flight risk so he's denied bail she meant that he cant be trusted cuz he'll do a runner again if he's granted bail because of his previous records of running to America and different countries so she's got a point she's right on that 1 and I agree with her
@@algiles881Thank you for helpfully informing me. Not really knowing much about the way a prison system works, I admittedly didn't know that money would be involved when trying to bail someone out of prison. It seems very obvious now you mentioned it. Thanks for that.🙂
Surely he's going to get to say goodbye fo Ben, because if not I'll be well mad.

Callum and Jay find out Ben won't be coming back home on the show after he's arrested, thanks to his mother-in-law, Kathy!! 😮

the actor for ben is leaving?
Yes Max Bowden was fired from EastEnders sadly on his birthday in late December. It was big news in the newspapers.

Yes but don't worry there'll be a recast for Ben Mitchell played by a new actor
