    Beautiful rendition.... i am gobsmacked... just wow. I had an Irish friend who sang this acapella with her sisters 25 to 30 years ago in my small home studio, and this lady sings it just like her. She has to have heard my friend Teressa sing it before.

    Honestly the best rendition of this song and I love the original Dolores Keane version. I wish I can find more of this band and singer!

    I love that you can hear her Irish accent and she's not putting on an American twang like most when they sing.

      Well its a completely Irish song so what need of an American twang, though I did hear Delores Keane and Nanci Griffith sing it together.

    Would like to hear her sing this in the arms of a cello, rather than over a "trying to be gentle" piano.

    I just dont like piano or keyboard in Irish trad, for me it just doesnt sound right

    • @oisinolochlainn4437
      @oisinolochlainn4437 6 лет назад

      Indeed it is, and they kept it very traditional, not too much ornamentation. Nach deas bheith ag éisteacht le ceoltóirí óga. And the cailín tá glór álainn aici............

      I personally think the piano is what makes the group

      awe yea each to his own. I grew up listing to trad bands like Planxty, the Bothy band ect.Well I still listen to them. I like tradition Irish old school and the piano take the tradition away from the tune... Thats my opinion anyway lol............
