I laughed too because I love the way she turns it around and makes it into a joke which is just incredible knowing that she handled herself so well in spite of being in such a nerve wracking situation.
I have a friend with Tourette’s, he worries that people will get annoyed or angry at him, a laugh is a relief for him. Definitely a good thing unless you are just openly mocking
Messed up? I was laughing and crying. Everyone loved you. You proved that you, and anyone, can get to a good life and be loved no matter your symptoms. You gave me so much hope, for myself and others.
Lol she's here because she's hot lol. Not everyone with her condition would be allowed anywhere near this level of success. If she was a guy she wouldn't even be alive
If she did not mean to do it, then yeah it was a mess up. If it was for better or for worse that is another debate, but by definition is was a mess up.
@The Shredder 10: I see your point of view. From another point of view the correct people got their awards, and everybody enjoyed the ceremony, so nothing got messed up. So, it depends on your point of view, in my opinion.
It’s the raw aspect of you dealing with a disorder. I think 90 percent of people are understanding. For people with the same disorder, you are an inspiration. They see you at the top of your profession and know they can do it too. Great job.
"When I plan, it goes horribly wrong, when I wing it, it goes horribly right" Words to live by. The reason for this is because planning for something creates expectations, and we as humans aren't perfect. Even if your expectations for yourself sound reasonable, as a human it's unlikely to perfectly meet them, that's just nature. When you wing it, you go in expecting nothing. If you don't expect yourself to do well at all, there's no way for your results to do worse than you expected because you didn't expect anything
Yeah, this is important for certain scenarios. In others, we need to have a fair idea on how things are gonna play out then do our best to meet expectations. For example, when I start training for a marathon, I can't just wing it. I have to meet certain goals by certain times to be in the shape I need to be for the big run.
In that clip, it was really funny, but yeah, that would be the worst thing to say in a normal conversation. To say to someone that you hate them (or any other tic insulting them), and then follow up with “that’s not a tic”. I imagine it’d be VERY awkward after that.
11/10 would watch a nervous speech again. You seemed so confident through the whole thing. The people who watch you know that your tics are the farthest thing from what you want to say so even with the tic attack, the presentation was flawless and like a breath of fresh air in the monotony of presenting awards
Lmao I didn't even realize showing the card was also a tick but it really looked like an intentionally smart move, as if you saying "hey look I'm having a tick right now but this is the correct answer so don't listen to me saying otv".
As someone who didn't know you or that you had tourette, it got obvious quite fast. I am honestly impressed, since you obviously struggled amd tried your best. And in the end, it was a hilarious and surprisingly wholesome announcement. Who cares about the little mess ups :) you did great!
I love that one of the headlines was that you "stole the show"' which just goes to show that people are getting it. Your making a difference from educating people on what Tourette's is and how to embrace peoples differences. Well done!
The first two (which are in Dutch) are also very positive, especially the first one "Everyone finds Anita's speech at the 'streamer awards' legendary because of her tourettes" "Sweet Anita's speech at the streamer awards is unintentionally hilarious thanks to her tourettes" Then the fourth one is in German, I don't particularly speak German but in this case I can like puzzle it together thanks to knowing Dutch "Twitch streamer(f) represents people with tourettes in front of 350 000 people, many admire her courage"
They knew exactly what they were asking for, you presented the award in perfect character and fell up, literally and figuratively. You are you and its *you* the people love.
Well the moistcritical one was the first one I watched so I don’t think I’ll forget that one either but yeah I’m not gonna forget this one for a long time
Are we not gonna talk about how funny it was when she said "I'm here to swear at you for a little while, I figured it'd be funnier if I didn't tell you why"?
I've had tics all my life and I've always been trying to hide it as well as I can. I only recently found your content and you have no idea how inspiring it is to see you just own your tics
Your “fuck ups” work out well for you because they’re honest, it let’s people see you’re a real person rather than a well oiled machine. You did, and continue to do, brilliantly. X
You "failing" in an improvised situation shows the real genuine YOU! this is something people can connect with as too much media today is to some degree staged. People want to see real emotion, and you deliver it in an amazing way, because you are just a fantastic person :) Have a good day!
Even though you were embarrassed, you did a great job. You seemed very confident and powered through those tics. The tics made it hilarious and made it feel much more like an award show made by streamers for streamers.
The thing is i think people found it entertaining and made people feel less stressed and gave them a fresh breeze of air for the night. You made peoples day a bit better with the endearing few minutes, even if it felt like the roof was falling on top of you. Im really proud of you and your courage of stepping on that stage.
Dude, you presenting that award is one of my favourite clips of yours. You were so cheerful and carismatic out there. I was also SO proud of you, as were so many people I'm sure. We wouldn't have even known it was hard for you if you didn't tell us here. That's how well you did! You might wanna read more carefully in the future tho just for insurance 😁
That was simultaneously the most sympathetic and funny thing I have seen in a long time. I think the failure (although not this specific kind) is something that people can relate to AND at the same time they can laugh at it. Not by malevolence but because it was just funny. You just can't make this shit up ☺️ Hence it got a major positive feedback.
I've had Tourette's since I was 5. I'm 30 now and even though they've calmed down a lot I still have them but you are so f*****g inspirational. I thought you did just fine Anita.
It may have felt embarrassing for you, but I can say as someone with Tourette's that it's really inspiring to see someone with the disorder able to accomplish such a huge feat and become as successful as you - thank you :)
Hey, I can only imagine, what that situation would do to tourettes syndrome. But think of it this way: How many people with tourettes have dared laurating an award ceremony before? All the more, when there are hundreds of thousands of people watching? I think what you did there is a huge confidence boost to everyone with tics. You did very much succeed in showing that people with tourettes can very well be in the spotlight. And you did it very nicely. Congratulations!

All the cheering was so nice. It was honestly great to show tic attacks on stage (not me saying that being in a tic attack is ok.). It will make other people with tics feel like they can go on stage and not be embarrassed if they have tics on stage.
I’m familiar with your content, and as nervous as I was for you once it was obvious you were having a tic attack, I couldn’t help but laugh after you said ‘I’m here to swear at you for a little while’. Your natural sense of humor, and your poise, bouncing back and smiling through it; absolutely saved it.
In reality, it didn’t go how you wanted, BUT there was so much awareness spread and so much COURAGE given to those who have the same issue you face daily! You may not have planned it, but maybe it was meant to be this way.
And the funniest thing is I didn't even realize all this happened to Anita when I watched it live. Video made me realize I magnify my own mistakes 100x more than anyone else's.
The way I see it, you've made it absolutely unforgettable, and not in a Will Smith way. And let's be honest: Not a single person expected you to go through the whole thing without ticking, so in a way they got what they expected :D
No lie, I saw the clip several times before you made this video and honestly thought the tic attack was just you reacting to a stressful situation... You went up there and did it, yes it didn't go 100% smoothly but I don't think these things often do. The way you handled it all was amazing! Honestly I thought you absolutely nailed it!
The streamers awards is honestly the first time I saw or even heard of you before!!! You now have a new subscriber for life!!! If I had been there I would've been that person screaming, " I LOVE YOU, ANITA "
You didn't ruin the Streamer Awards at all, I think you did an amazing job and also I think you brought more awareness and understand for those who have Terets and everyone was happy with you in the audience too. So mission successfully faild successfully 👍. Also it looks like no one in the audience really noticed that you said the wrong name at all, they just loved you on stage.
I can only imagine how you must have felt, but seeing the reactions I don’t think people resent you for anything. You got up there like a boss and people were fully aware that you have ticks, so no harm done I think. To be honest, they should have you at the Oscars haha. I might even watch
I watched that entire thing and honestly you were hands down the most interesting part of the entire awards! Please never change Anita. You are a national treasure.
I think you set the tone and had everyone on side the moment you opened with "I'm here to swear at you for a little while and I figured it would be funnier if I didn't tell you why."

The community is behind you, listen to the love, support and cheering you received. Some times these judgements ground us as humans and other times they are purely unfounded fears. P.s I personally think you smashed it!

It's pretty clear this is an attack, and I think at that point the crowd was on your side. It's amazing you even made it through that. I felt bad laughing, but it was funny as well. New subscriber here :)
You don't have to feel bad for laughing! She owns her condition and I don't think there's anything wrong with this being her thing.
@@dharkann 👍👍
I laughed too because I love the way she turns it around and makes it into a joke which is just incredible knowing that she handled herself so well in spite of being in such a nerve wracking situation.
I have a friend with Tourette’s, he worries that people will get annoyed or angry at him, a laugh is a relief for him. Definitely a good thing unless you are just openly mocking
her tics is responsible for people's entertainment, bad way or good. some people laugh for her jokes and some people laugh at her syndrome.
Messed up? I was laughing and crying. Everyone loved you. You proved that you, and anyone, can get to a good life and be loved no matter your symptoms. You gave me so much hope, for myself and others.
Nice marketing drama. Fake tics. people still believe that these tics are real ? utter id*ot world.

You didnt mess it up. It was cute and everybody loves you. Continue to face your fears, you rock! I would vote for you to host the oscars.
If she did not mean to do it, then yeah it was a mess up. If it was for better or for worse that is another debate, but by definition is was a mess up.
But then she'd blurt out "cuck!" and Will would come slap her 😂
@The Shredder 10: I see your point of view. From another point of view the correct people got their awards, and everybody enjoyed the ceremony, so nothing got messed up. So, it depends on your point of view, in my opinion.
Anita makes us all smile.
@@theshredder103 nah.
It’s the raw aspect of you dealing with a disorder. I think 90 percent of people are understanding. For people with the same disorder, you are an inspiration. They see you at the top of your profession and know they can do it too. Great job.
You didn't fail at all, you were funny, sweet, entertaining, and EXACTLY what everyone wanted from you. 3 thumbs up!

"When I plan, it goes horribly wrong, when I wing it, it goes horribly right"
Words to live by.
Next-level excuse for unpreparedness... Thank you for the wonderful idea 😂👍
Yeah, this is important for certain scenarios. In others, we need to have a fair idea on how things are gonna play out then do our best to meet expectations. For example, when I start training for a marathon, I can't just wing it. I have to meet certain goals by certain times to be in the shape I need to be for the big run.
"That's not a tick" has got to be the worst tick
Those meta ticks are just evil
Oh fuck I didn't realize that was a tick. Damn, that blows.
In that clip, it was really funny, but yeah, that would be the worst thing to say in a normal conversation. To say to someone that you hate them (or any other tic insulting them), and then follow up with “that’s not a tic”. I imagine it’d be VERY awkward after that.
You mean, the best!

The first two (which are in Dutch) are also very positive, especially the first one
"Everyone finds Anita's speech at the 'streamer awards' legendary because of her tourettes"
"Sweet Anita's speech at the streamer awards is unintentionally hilarious thanks to her tourettes"
Then the fourth one is in German, I don't particularly speak German but in this case I can like puzzle it together thanks to knowing Dutch
"Twitch streamer(f) represents people with tourettes in front of 350 000 people, many admire her courage"

They knew exactly what they were asking for, you presented the award in perfect character and fell up, literally and figuratively. You are you and its *you* the people love.
More like "How I nailed the Streamer Awards". You were yourself and that made the segment unique. That's great!
You didn't mess up anything, it was the most entertaining awarding I've ever watched, the only one I'll remember.
People want to see real emotion, and you deliver it in an amazing way, because you are just a fantastic person :)
Have a good day!
Honestly it added SO MUCH to the show. Such a great mood lift for everyone watching. Most of the streamers I've seen thought it was hilarious as well
Even though you were embarrassed, you did a great job.

Just the fact alone that you had the courage to come up there was admirable.

I don’t even know her, but when I saw this I couldn’t help but smile
you should go down the lore with her it’s legitimately incredible

I think this situation was especially great to fail on because it's SO relatable. We all know how it feels to speak in front of 20 people and you did it in front of 10.000 times more. You went up there. You were charming and relatable. People got an award. You did the thing.

The community is behind you, listen to the love, support and cheering you received. Speaking as someone else who suffers from disabilities I fully appreciate we all doubt and judge ourselves sometimes harder perhaps than the "normal" or the fully abled. Some times these judgements ground us as humans and other times they are purely unfounded fears. P.s I personally think you smashed it!
I honestly think more award shows should have people with disabilities presenting. It made everything a lot more inviting and everyone was having a great time.
