Imagine being in a new city, so trashed you pass out on the sidewalk, and some sweet little British girl saves you. Dude is definitely going to wake up and think it was a dream.
When she helped the dude it almost made me cry cause my brother used to get drunk (he had an addiction) and people would just pass by him or steal his stuff or even jump him. On rare occasions a sweet person would call my mom and I'm just glad my brother is alive. I was about 10-11 when this stuff happened but now I'm 14 and even though I now have mental health issues I am again just happy my brother is safe and rehabilitated Edit: thanks for being nice to me and thanks for the likes, it's nice to know strangers are this kind
@Reggie Cyde bro no if you're surrounded by a certain influence for a long time of course you will change, literally everyone will. if an american goes to live in england they'll likely adopt a brit accent. and non native speakers learning english for the first time adopt the accents they hear too, which is why some people you meet may have an accent that's a mix of brit and american. it doesn't hint at you being insecure about yourself lol, i can see why you'd think that but that's total bull, it's simply to do with the exposure to a certain thing (be it accent, culture) over a long time
@Reggie Cyde Sorry, that's simply not true. This has actually been studied, and what we've learned is that the common trait shared by people who more readily take on the speaking style (accent, vocabulary, etc) of others is empathy. It makes sense. People who are able to mentally put themselves in others' shoes, to see the world from another's perspective and to understand them, are also able to pick up on how they communicate and then communicate in a similar way. And while it can be very difficult for adults to completely change their accent, most can consciously modify their accent to a degree if they try to (as many do when learning a foreign language). It's easier (and can even happen without effort) if you go live somewhere where you're surrounded by that accent. And it's all generally pretty easy, even in some circumstances inevitable, when you're young.
@ depends on the age, i had a thick accent when i moved at 13, i lost it fairly quick but the older the person in my family was the less of their accent they lost and the longer it took to lose what bit they did lose.
That happened to me once. I've been really drunk sitting and staring into nothing and a group of 4 went by a super cute girl sat down next to me and asked what's up .. I told her I'm having trouble with a girl and even though I said I don't want to bother them with my mood and I'm alright she almost pulled me with them because :"You shouldn't be alone and sad. You come with us... You can still be sad but at least you've got company then" to be honest at first it felt awkward but we spent like 6 or 7 hours together and then I went home and my mood drastically changed. It helped but I haven't seen them ever again.
I cant express the delight I feel watching Anita help that drunk guy back to his air bnb. I've been both people in that clip and it's just nice to see people being nice

Thanks for your videos. I didn't know what was going on with me until I happened to stumble on a documentary about Tourette's in my 20's. I was OMG! That's me. Fortunately, I never had extreme symptoms. I've managed to mask and re-direct my tics in a way to make them less obvious. It would have helped to know early on that it was a condition others had.
Honestly, your editor is the real MVP here. It's so wholesome how he is just by your side and just takes care of you and keeps you accompany in awkward situations. I mean i am sure you can handle yourself fine too, but it just seems so nice. This is my most favorite video.
I think about that a lot actually. She at least saved me from the drunk tank, that’s for sure! Would not have been a fan of waking up in a police station in a different country 😂 (I’m not American)
@Justin Nitsuj everything other than her british accent is her tourettes. We are all mostly influenced by American English on the world wide web I would say so that’s probably where that tic accent comes from. Her tics are really interesting, she even spoke an entire german sentence without any accent. Just one word in that sentence didn’t really make sense. It’s crazy how the brain picks up things. Her tourettes is like your inner voice in your head when you read something. The only time I have an accent is when I talk. But yeah I don’t know if this is relatable for you. I‘m a German and not native in English, I should habe probably mentioned that earlier in my explanation hahaha

One of my closest friends had a slightly lower form of tourette. He just had a lot of ticks without swearing. And was always drinking a lot of alcohol and using drugs to suppress them. I was always worried about him because he was probably the nicest guy i've ever met and will. He had a long relationsship which suddenly ended 4 years ago. Afterwards he was like an empty shell, giving in to the alcohol even more. 2 years ago he finally seemed to get it together and started to live a good life for himself. Started a band (he's was incredible on the vocals) and planned to go into other country for travel. He was in such high spirits. One night he went to a friend drinking and having some fun. And never woke up again. It felt like he finally reached his goal and could let go of everything that tortured him in the past. At the funeral were hunderds of people. To say goodbye to a man that was such a caring and loveable friend. I don't think he ever knew how much he was loved by everyone. I have no idea why i am writing ths right now...maybe i'm just concernd about the combination of tourette and alcohol. Stay safe, you're okay they way that you are.
My adhd is really different when I’m drunk and I fell into a bit of a bad spot for a little while. Society does a lot to make you feel like the way you are is somehow an inconvenience to others, and we’re often taught that it’s our job to “fix” these issues to make other people’s lives easier. I’ve tried so hard for so many years to keep control of my impulses, and sorely failing (almost as if people with ADHD have little to no impulse control 🤦🏽♀️😅) and it’s exhausting. It’s really exhausting to do it every second of every day, and especially the people with big hearts, who care so much about how other people feel. So to hear that you as a human being, with the way your brain naturally functions, is an inconvenience to those around you? It’s devastating. I felt since my impulses were so low when I was drinking, it was more convenient for the people I cared about if I stayed that way. I don’t even like drinking, I never have. I just sincerely believed what I was doing was benefitting the people around me. I guess my point is that I agree with you, the statement that you’re fine the way you are. And I sincerely hope you continue to spread that ideal, in a world where I believe it’s much much needed 💖
9:12 I loved this part especially when the dude sounded pleasantly surprised and they complimented her back lol. Also the part before that when she was just like, I love this guy
I love running across this woman’s videos. She’s such a charming individual. It’s quite fun and entertaining in an endearing way to learn about her life with this condition. I know this video is like three years old but I was just in San Diego a couple weeks ago for vacation. I probably would’ve gone right up to her had it been this year 🤣 just because she seems like such an amazing spirit.

I mean I tic more when I watch Anita's videos but that's due to mirror neurons. I tic a lot less when hammered. Because being drunk, stoned or whatever state of unsober you may be, it disturbs the signal substances in the brain and that does truly help alleviate stray signals.

If you really let your drunk friends do shit, then don't come and cry if the next day you learn that your friend is dead. I had a friend who turned violent (and he was a martial arts champion), I took it in stride. I don't care if I receive punches, it's rather that than letting him run on the middle of the road, assault or get get assaulted, rolled over by a car or even worse. Moral of the story, just DON'T get drunk in the first place. It's stupid, you are not yourself and not thinking straight, you are fucking with your brain, your kidneys, your heart, your liver, pretty much everything. Unless your goal is to commit suicide then sure go ahead. I'd rather carry you home by all means even it takes hours without sleep and not being able to catch my breath than letting people down. Her accent turns American when she's drunk.
@Reggie Cyde wtf kinda garbage are you saying lol
@Reggie Cyde bro no
if you're surrounded by a certain influence for a long time of course you will change, literally everyone will. if an american goes to live in england they'll likely adopt a brit accent. and non native speakers learning english for the first time adopt the accents they hear too, which is why some people you meet may have an accent that's a mix of brit and american. it doesn't hint at you being insecure about yourself lol, i can see why you'd think that but that's total bull, it's simply to do with the exposure to a certain thing (be it accent, culture) over a long time
@Reggie Cyde Sorry, that's simply not true.
Reggie Cyde it’s not that deep.
@ depends on the age, i had a thick accent when i moved at 13, i lost it fairly quick but the older the person in my family was the less of their accent they lost and the longer it took to lose what bit they did lose.

I mean I tic more when I watch Anita's videos but that's due to mirror neurons. I tic a lot less when hammered. Because being drunk, stoned or whatever state of unsober you may be, it disturbs the signal substances in the brain and that does truly help alleviate stray signals.
