I always have a misconception of China but after visited Guangzhou three weeks ago, the beauty of Guangzhou has totally changed my perception. It’s a very modern city enriched with the beauty of past history as well. I gotta say I would definitely go back one day.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can totally relate to it💭😊 it's true when they say, you have to see it to believe it, and I see much prosperity and hope in China
Hi friends. This is Alan from Discovery Walking Tours TV. I recently visited the megacity of Guangzhou and I had a real blast recording the sights and sounds. I traveled to many parts of China during the last 2 years and have personally seen the huge changes. I think there is a lot of "misinformation" about how the country is like, and I hope with these videos, people will be more well informed and will be able to see the country for what is it. I used binaural microphones to record the environmental sounds. So if you have a pair of headphones, do use them, it will be quite an immersive experience 😀 If you notice any interesting points in the video or want to ask about something that was caught on camera, comment with a time stamp (eg 00:01) and I will be sure to check it out. I am also interested to know where you are from 😄 so drop a comment below and say hi! If you are keen to see more of Guangzhou, check out my playlist below ruclips.net/video/3nhQzkckOdo/видео.html
I love your Guangzhou and China walking videos, too few of these on youtube. Will you upload more of these from Guangzhou and other cities in the mainland?
Hi Rick😄 Happy to hear from you. I have just 1 more video from Guangzhou and that's it for now 😅 If response is good and if viewers want it, I would always love to visit China again and spend time to record my walks.
I play these walking tours in another tab while I work, so I can hear the sounds of other cities around the world, even while I'm stuck working at home for now.
17:48 The construction site is the Xiancun metro station of Line 18, which is about to be the first speed of 160km per hour metro line in Guangzhou and in the future, is gonna extent out of Guangzhou to Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Qingyuan.
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV FYI, the line 18 of Guangzhou will be running in the end of the 2021, mostly on the 28/12/2021. Distance of about 60 kilometers with 30 minutes from Wanqingsha, Nansha district to Xiancun, Tianhe district.
Great place to live and lovely city to visit. Some very nice architecture, clean apartment buildings and so different from each other. So refreshing and easy on the eye. Thanks a lot Alan.
It's nice how they seem to be "conserving" and "repurposing" some of the residential buildings in the city core. Its nice to see the area being brought to life with the cafes and boutique shops on the ground floor
Will do my best! 😄 I have a special interest and love for this country. Everything I thought I know about China changed the moment I stepped into their world (many years back). The things I see and hear from the various media outlets don't do justice to the country. Hopefully, I will be able to visit and document as much as I can 😄
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Indeed. This is the most portable gimbal videocam right now. I read that u used a very good microphone. Can share with me what make and model?
@@DySun I use a Hooke Audio binaural microphone. There is no model number. I heard the Seinheiser Ambeo is pretty good but it can only linked to an iPhone plus its expensive so I settled on what I thought was 2md best. 3dio specialises in binaural mics as well but their microphones are just too large for me at this point of time.
Glad to hear from you Snow 😊 I visited SZ and its an amazingly modern city. Did some recordings of Huaqiangbei and Dongmen but unfortunately it wasn't as popular 😅 hope to visit SZ again when things get better
Very very impressive - this part of Guangzhou. In other part of China, indeed Hong Kong , there is big problem with having house or even rent. 200.000 + Hong Kong citizens live in "coffin 2x1 m rooms" . That was awfull to see it.
Wow. There are so many migrants from other parts of the country that it seems like there is more Mandarin than Cantonese being spoken in Guangzhou. So is Cantonese ceasing to exist in Guangzhou now?
🤣 Glad to hear from you Supertrouper. I think Cantonese is here to stay in Guangdong province and Guangzhou city itself. I hear it being spoken quite often all over the area 😁
It could maybe just the video, but with the videos I have seen of Guangzhou streets, yes there are still a lot of Cantonese speakers, but it seems like the Mandarin speakers are at least 60%-85%, correct me if I am mistaken. Unless it depends on which areas of Guangzhou. Could it be possible that some parts of Guangzhou are still very Cantonese speaking and the other parts have a Mandarin speaking majority that I do not know of.
@@supertrouper I would say it depends on wher you are. Tianhe would have more Mandarin speakers as its the new development area while Yuexiu and Haizhu would have more Cantonese
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV I just translated it character by character XD, the community is built for "六运会”, the sixth national sports festival, and that's why it's named after "六运", "运" also has the meaning of fortune, so just liked to call it "six fortune" personally XD
