Old roketa 250cc. Many different variations of these and they are absolute pos buggys.
I swear I'm psychic or something... I literally bought one of these yesterday for $300 and was looking around for anyone that had restored or modded one and only found 10+ year old videos of drives and forum posts. I found that Roketa made a couple of models of these, a 150 and 250cc and before that sunl made one called an slgk 250-2a.
I know, i say that often but these videos are so great.. i watched the mega moto 420cc torque monster build today (swingarm and stuff) and it's so chill to watch.. i'm like: leave me alone i want to escape from everything and everyone
I've been doing the same for years.
What happened to the 625cc singles? It seems like one of those would really be a torque monster.
Can't wait to see what power you get from the vanguard engine, road to horsepower v twin 👍
The smaller 18hp Vanguard V-twin is one that a lot of race mowers use for the Factory Experimental Twin (FXT) class uses. I think with all the parts and tuning that gets done to those, they are pushing I think about 60hp, might be less. So I'm sure they could tune this engine to make at least that.
Twin turbos & EFI. 😅 Seriously though, looks like fun! I like the rear suspension & drive design. Cars & trucks from the WWI era had similar setups, usually with a beam axle. Simple & rugged.
Amazing build. I was wondering if the center of gravity could be lowered by mounting the engine slightly above the bottom level of the cockpit and placing the driven pulley at a higher location. It would take a lot more fabrication, but might be a future modification.
Yeah I looked at a few different options when mounting it. I am going to do something under there. I thought about a storage trey for tools under there.

Yah that chain tensioning is a pain to do I had to make a tool from a harbor freight pin tool and 2 12mm bolts

The frame looks to be a Roketa gk13 variant, I’m building a CBR swapped buggy in one of those gonna run a supercharger on it as well 0_0
I have Coleman be 200 and I am going to add an aftermarket carb but I do not want it to stick out much because I’m afraid it will be broken when I inevitably tipped the bike on its side is there a way to tuck it had one break or the filter pop off
With the room between wheels you could add a water jet and make it a land and water buggy

Vanguard has a engine for a long prop or jetski I believe

Rockets gk13.i have one that I'm gonna motor swap when the original 17 hp factory Chinese motor goes but still runs like a clock at the moment.guy on the tube put a 750 motor on it and gearbox didn't break in the video of him ripping it.
Why not use a big rotor kit?
What cvt clutches are you using? I’m trying to do something very similar
I have a brand new differential/ transmission that looks to be the same. Need a closer look, but it is off a 250cc cart. never been run, but not cheap. They are pricey because they don't make them anymore. Let me know

Hey red beard I’m from El Paso Texas and I got a predator 212 gov delete oil sensor took out hot 265 cam billet rod and billet flywheel and 28 pound valves springs and 22m mikuni style carb and my minibike won’t stay on I need to rejet do you know what jets I should get for the 22mm gps mikuni style carb (after market) from go power sports I’m from El Paso Texas I heard area has a lot to do with it

Should made 2 tube that came from seat pan area back and up to bottom cage and had it just about 6in clearance with shocks bottom out having that much weight up high is bad for handling lower the mass the more stable it be from tipping just advise use to build dune buggys and about everything under sun also dirt bike racing also was privileged to be test rider on Cannondale when they built dirt bikes and quad being around engineers and given them feed back was life experience just got lucky nowing lot big bike shops and me and my brother and freinds got to have great experience being test rider nothing like a trailer bike bring to your and just beat the living crap out them on our person biult trake and haveing influence part to the bike when they finally cam out i still van point out ever part that was placed or changed because we damaged something or it just failed .
99% of parts do not exist for these old roketa/sunL/goka 250/300cc buggys. Rear calipers/adjuster cams/stub shafts/rotors/trailing arms/front suspension/spindles all unobtanium new. Gearbox/gearbox parts also unobtanium altho occasionally they pop up on aliexpress/alibaba for 3-600 bucks. Steering on these is extremely slow and take turn after turn after turn to go lock to lock.
too bad ya cant find a citicar and do the mods to make it gas power I think you can pull it off
