The “shot from the waist up” line was due to the fact that they would only show Elvis from the waist up because his dancing was “too suggestive”
It’s a double bar as well. 🔥
Damn, got to it a few days before me.
Fast forward to 2022 and we got kids at drag shows, wow how the times have changed
@@brianmurphy4032 Conservative propaganda, it was completely false. The show was 18+, there were no kids.
@Alexander Azarov bro there's been over 100 drag shows at high schools this year, it's not propaganda. That's gaslighting and lying. It's been happening ALL year. It's been advertised on Facebook ALL year. Ignoring it doesn't make it not exist. It's rampant.
As far as Elvis' wife goes, the age laws still hadn't quite caught up to modern times, with her parents blessing it was still frowned upon, but not necessarily illegal
He met her at 14, but he didn’t marry her until later when she was older.
Could still be considered creepy though.
~_~
nothing creepy. He was in the US making movies and dating ADULTS. They were essentially pen pals, normal practice in the 70s especially. teens wrote to their favorite rock stars all the time.... Elvis waited way longer than this bogus song falsely states: Priscilla was AT LEAST 18yrs old = sex. 22yrs old = marriage. 23yrs old = have a baby.
@@majinsole8554 No, it's not creepy. Elvis met Priscilla in Germany, they got on well, but nothing serious happened. Elvis returned to the U.S and didn't see her for over 2 years, then she moved to the U.S and they got married a few years later when she was 21. You can't judge people's lives from over 60 years ago with the standards of today. In the 50s, especially in the southern states, it was not uncommon or illegal for older men to meet/date/marry teenage girls. Elvis grew up in an era when cousins often married each other......things change over decades of time.
@@chrism.c9965 it's still weird lmao
@@TogamiBruh atleast he didn't just try to skip the process and screw her when she was 14.....Atleast he waited.....That's more than what most popular stars would've done
Michael Jackson's hair caught fire while filming a 1984 Pepsi commercial. He moved to close to a pyrotechnics display and sparks from the display caught his hair on fire. He got 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his scalp and face.
And he also permanently had a wig after that.
One of my favorite ERBs. I give a slight edge to Elvis. That "black culture' line was the best bar in the battle, IMO.
The Ed Sullivan line was about how when Elvis danced, producers would shoot his dancing from the waist up because his dancing was considered sexual.
When Michael Jackson did a Pepsi commercial, there was a mistake and MJ literally was lit on fire.
So it’s a double bar, for the reasons you and I explained.
@@whatitdodave Debby Rowe was the daughter. The younger son(the one daggling from the balcony that is named Blanket) of Michael doesnt belong to Debby but an unknown suragent mother(case was closed and sealed to this day)the other two kids are hers hint the names "Presley Jackson." A blend of both families and they own both fathers record labels. So those children are set for life Dave.
Pyrotechnics is why his hair went up during the Pepsi commercial
@@ameyer1970 plus hairspay
Dave, I've been recovering from major surgery, and watching your ERB reactions has made my hospital recovery so much easier! Thanks, brother! Keep it up!
Aye! Glad I could help! I hope your surgery went well!
@@whatitdodave Thank you so much! Yes, surgery went well. Being discharged tomorrow for long term recovery at my parents' place before I go back to my own. Thanks again! You da best!
It was a spiral of gradual overdose, taking sleeping pills in the evening because of stress, then stimulants in the morning to wake up, until it built up so much that it ruined his health. But Jackson died exactly the same way, so I'd substract some points for trying to use that bar.
I'd say that the fact that he was given fatal combination of drugs by his personal doctor changes it enough for it to not be subtracted. Sure, he had an addiction to painkillers, but his hair was literally set on fire and he was constantly in pain afterwards.
@@SebasTian58323 and the fact that he had curly hair, it's not like he had straight hair. ouuchhh
@What It Do Dave,
If this battle would have had a 3rd round, I think Michael would have crushed it for sure. Elvis set himself up for a rebuttal I'm sure Michael was waiting to drop, but due to time he had to let things stand were they were. Michael's "You are not alone video" is a video of him and Lisa Marie Presley making out, lol. Elvis can say what he thinks didn't go on in the bedroom, but only Michael and Lisa Marie really know. That said, they did release about 3-mintue video of themselves making out, lol.
Elvis groomed Priscilla Presley, and her father wasn't happy about what was going on. He threated to sue (or was it go to his commanding officer--Elvis was still in the military at the time) Elvis if he didn't marry her, and we know how that ended. Elvis story shows what happens when you have privilege in your corner. Society hardly put up a fuss when Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis married underage women, girls, really. Michael had allegations and look what happened. Tabloids told all kinds of stories without proof for years along with talking about his "weird" habits and hobbies. Yes, Michael had allegations and he did settle a case--he didn't want to go through the drama of tabloids writing another story. These stories and rumors got to him, and he cared about how people saw him. Michael was a successful Black man from the age of 5 until the day he died, and tabloids were always trying make him appear weird while turning his life story into a circus. It's no wonder Michael sought painkillers and sleeping aids to get him through the nights. His story is a tragedy.
Joe Jackson made his children stars, while robbing them of their dignity and childhood. Michael spent his whole adult life around children because he wanted that part of his life back. Joe Jackson was an abusive manager that treated his own children like people who worked for him; his children were working people, not children.
You're reaction on some of these lines is hilarious! You make listening to ERB more enjoyable 🤣
Elvis Presley met his future wife when she was 14 but unlike Jerry Lee Lewis waited until she was 18 to marry her
Priscilla was nearly 22 when she married Elvis and that was when they made love for the first time
Elvis waited way longer than this bogus song falsely states: Priscilla was AT LEAST 18yrs old = sex. 22yrs old = marriage. 23yrs old = have a baby.
Also consider the time, anything post puberty was considered reasonable, if still frowned upon.
@@jakeand9020 Yes it was and Elvis "COULD NOT" have sex with her before marriage because he considered it a sin and Elvis was very religious. When it came to religion -- Elvis didn't play any games. Not a chance they had sex before she became a consenting adult. That was out of the question. She states in fact that SHE asked him -- and he SAID NO.
@@depper "consenting" not"consulting"
This was the first ERB I'd ever seen, of course I was hooked immediately. This one is funnier than hell too.
This one is FIRE. I love it and I know Dave is gonna have several eye rolls.
Oh wow! ... That's illegal!
-What It Do Dave, 2022
Love your reactions bro
Tony Hawk vs. Wayne Gretzky next!!
Dave thank you for this one! I agree, young Mike was on fire LOL, but that bar of him adding vanilla to the chocolate was priceless
This battle was always one of my favorites to watch haha was always a big fan of Elvis as a kid and Michael as well so seeing this was awesome
Enjoyed the video dude, Crazy Fact you might not expect Michael Jackson Pepsi Commercial accident was the half way point of Michael's life as Michael was born in 29 August 1958 the accident was January 27th 1984 which is 9282 days, from the accident until his passing on the 25th June 2009 was exactly 9281 days. Crazy to think about as always enjoying your erb reactions, keep it up Dave
This is one of my favorites. It's fairly even which makes it better
Edit:overdosed on the toilet
Mike had Activator in his hair. It got hit with the sparks from the commercial and caught on fire
This is one of my favorites, I just noticed that you haven't done the Tony Hawk versus Wayne Gretzky battle. It is one of their best.
This might be the best erb in my opinion
King vid
"Call me Ed Sullivan, shoot you from the waist up" is a reference to when Elvis went on the Ed Sullivan show, and Ed Sullivan thought Elvis' dancing was to sexual, so they edited the footage of Elvis dancing. When the episode aired, it only showed Elvis dancing from the waist up.
I love your laughing spells. That happens to me too.
This battle was very neck and neck btw your my favorite reactors.
1:16 you know the lyrics are good when it has you doin the Stevie Wonder
“Didn’t lose any Chocolate, I just added Vanilla” I’m pretty sure that line means that MJ even as an adult still classified himself in Black culture :)
"There has to be an explanation"
The times were fucked and he was famous.
This finna be good .
Gotta do Wayne Gretzky vs Tony Hawk
I like it when reactors get surprised when they see this battle start off with young MJ.
I have a friend named Juan who gives off the exact same energy as you probably why I subscribed and watch regularly lol your voice just sounds so chill and laid back lol
I remember the news cast showing MJ being rushed to the hospital. His hair product was ignited sparks on the set of the commercial, it was the 80s so more than likely it was something really oily like Jheri Curl. And no don't ask how a white guy knows what Jheri Curl is lol. You think Elvis meeting Priscilla at 14 is something else Jerry Lee Lewis married his 15 year old cousin which really didn't help his career as he acted like it's normal. Backwoods rock stars in the 50s-70s man were weird people.
MJ plays Ash Williams (Army of darkness), bubba ho tep 2002, there are always imitators some from the face others from the voice, the essence and the spirit somehow lives, Michael and Elvis ai cover sing tell my why and Silver fins "Waiting so lon from berserk 1997
Yep it was most definitely that Jerry curl he had all the chemicals in his head attracted to them spark LOL
That’s
What’s
Up
"I stole from black culture why are you offended" was a 911 Id like to report a murder bar. I thought Elvis took this but I do think both were terrific. As always the winner is the ERB fan
During the Pepsi commercial shoot, MJ had too much hairspray fresh from the dressing room, and the background sparks falling behind him lit the hairspray up
Technically Elvis didn't overdose. he died of a heart attack while on the toilet... scary part is it's easier to do than people think
Emcee Ed Sullivan was a former sports castor turned variety show host. The thing with Ed he had mannerisms that everyone mocked. Its a tie.
Little Micheal Jackson came to battle! The burning love bar was savage
michael jackson had his hair accidently set on fire during the filming of a Pepsi commercial
Austin powers vs Bond! That's the one I forgot was good
Michael Jackson You Are Not Alone video Lisa Marie Presley was in it
Elvis died from a heart attack from a pain killer addiction while taking a shit, loved the reaction though always watch your videos
I took her to my neverland ranch to HeeHee :3
Elvis' first verse is beyond brutal.
This is the most mixed controversial episode of ERB it's like people argue so much but in my opinion Michael won
On this episode of ERB is Jackson 5 Michael Jackson vs black and white Elvis Presley then white Michael Jackson vs fat Elvis Presley
Remember time periods what we find weird today, was kinda okay back than about the marriage thing, may be results of the time period.
U missed alot of elvis bares about Michael Jackson father use to abuse them as they kids to get into music
Back then it was considered nominal to married at 14 it was when you hit puberty
When he found his wife
WHAT IS MACAULY CULKINS FAVORITE SALAD DRESSING?
A) THOUSAND ISLAND - B) NEVERLAND RANCH
C) GOLDEN ITALIAN. - D) BLUE CHEESE
Clint Eastwood vs Bruce lee?
Don't worry I didn't know about a lot of stuff like met her 14 years old etc lmao
That was a close fight really, Elvis meet Priscilla when she was 14 but he did not marry her until after she was 16, Elvis Presley did steal or borrow from Black culture for his music many of his songs were remake of songs that black people had done in the past, Michael Jackson was in a Pepsi commercial he got too close to one of the props and it caught his hair on fire 🔥 and from the last video about Wonder woman and Stevie Wonder I have seen a photo of Stevie Wonder taking a picture of somebody supposedly and it look like he was actually really taking the pictures so can he see can he not only he know for sure
Michael totally won. Between the kid's FIRE performance and the "BRO I MARRIED YOUR DAUGHTER" line, he went for the throat.
Elvis won by far using the "why are you offensive?" Line
@@glamrockbonnie5983 I'll freely admit, that line was brutal. But...There's no coming back from "I married your daughter."
@@brennanhearn6342 that's also true that killed elvis
MJ and Lisa M Presley were in one of Trump’s mansions after they got married and didn’t come out of their room that entire week. 😄🤣 yea right they never banged. Maybe they were just up there playing scrabble.
Technically Elvis met his wife when she was 14 while in the Army in another country.
they married when she was 21 no mention of anything happening b4 then, (sad though, she cheats on him, with her instructor twice.)
I think young MJ got young Elvis but old Elvis got old MJ
Yes Elvis know his wife when she was only 14yo, but, he never do something with her until Elvis ended the army service and she was legally adult...that is what i read about, If something is wrong feel free to explain me, i don't speak English or not regulary, hope You understand... Hugs from Argentina
Actually back then it was legal.
pricilla was 14
Waist up - they shot Elvis from the waist up cause thee "gyrating hips" were too sexual at the time
the exagerated swagger of a young michael
Hey man, either edit it out or look up info before or after the video. We don't want to sit and watch u grab ur phone and to look this shit up

I hope u keep going down the ERB rabbit hole. Nice Peter and Epic Lloyd are geniuses and so talented. They actually have an ERB where they battle each other and it's wicked good and it gives u a little insight into how they came up with this idea and how they execute it. Also you can start reacting to the behind the scenes of the battles and it's crazy how they build the costumes and sets and all that. Just a suggestion and I enjoy ur reactions
This one was fire, Elvis over dosed on barbiturates and died taking a shit
He had a heart attack ...while on the commode.
Why does your laugh sound like you're always trying to hold in a sneeze. Let it out my guy.
Baby and wife is asleep. Only time I can record so I gotta be reserved a bit haha.
Young Mike was good, but elvis consistently slayed.
I think you're forgetting just how long it's been since Elvis was 24 😂 back then it was acceptable and legal, so that shot doesn't really hit.
I mean, legality at the time isn't really relevant.
@@TheNewRUclipsHandlesAreDumb Not for today's sake. But for legality, it CERTAINLY is relevant. If it was legal back then, they can't really be taken to court.
@@copocopocopocopo even today let's say you are a star and a teenage girl you have met through aquaintances develops a crush on you, even if you dont turn her down and even if u think she made up her mind and will not change it , you could quite legitimaly tell her that u are ok with a relation once she gets adult. which in Elvis case happened.I don't see any legal issue even with today's overwoke culture they recognise individual choices too and a girl can have her own preferences which once she becomes adult are legal to pursue right?
How did you not know that. Lisa Marie Presley. Elvises daughter. C'mon. I've watched you cause your smart. Your bad ass though
Sorry elvis im really offended
Elvis won. Elvis’ first verse was one of the most vicious verses ever seen
As far as Elvis saying it about MJ, dancing to pop music isn't exactly " _black culture_ " for sure.
It’s not the dancing by itself, but how he was dancing. The reason it was so popular was because no white person was moving like that, that’s why they had to shoot him from the waist up. It wasent tolerated. But black people been moving like that since before slavery days.
The whole "black culture" line was a reference to Michael bleaching his skin and the jokes about him no longer being black. I feel like it was probably written before they decided to do the transformations. it would have hit harder to be saying it to "white" Michael.
for context, michael said in an interview he had a rare condition that some have where they develop pale, white patches of skin. So because he had been very self conscious about his looks since the fire, decided to bleach his skin to make it uniformly the same color.
as for why he chose to go that route, instead of going the other way and darkening the patches.... who knows. it could be he saw it as another way to distance himself from his painful childhood. or, hell it could just be that there was no way to do it where it would look uniform, natural, and be permanent, since the whole crux of the condition is the part that controls skin pigment is just dead, so tanning and dyes was out.
And yes Elvis OD'd on the toilet
NO he did not.
Mike won for sure also
ELVIS STOLE FROM US I'M FUCKING OFFENDED
ELVIS wins, lol, everyday. Love Michael, but Elvis made his music possible!!!!!!
You should research into what made Elvis music possible…then say that again.
@@whatitdodave I was born in 1958. I KNOW WHAT MADE HIS MUSIC POPULAR, I am just saying Michael should have understood why his music was iconic , why his music made what Michael did possible. Elvis DID make a path. For individualism. For self expression. You can not deny that.
uncle dave the nose joke is racist
"I stole from black culture why are you offended?". It's because of his change of skin color. Like he's not black anymore. That's why Michael responded with "I didin't lose any chocolate I just added vanilla."
Elvis easily had more bars tbh
Will never pick MJ over Elvis, sorry Dave, love your channel but you can not say Elvis did not allow Michael to be a star who did his own thing no matter the critics!!!!!!!!!!!!
I reckon these racist white people jokes need to stop
