What if you have been awarded to be with the victim?

I'm fighting a disorderly conduct charge, classified as domestic violence here in Arizona. Basically it's an argument with no physical stuff at all, but still charged. Crazy to me that an argument only can be classified as domestic violence. Be careful out there, if you yell at your wife or kids, that's domestic violence.

What if your public defender refuses to even meet with you prior to the day of court… i am so angry…… won’t even release reports for my review

What if someone won’t take the deal of pleading guilty and wants to go to trial instead? What happens then? What does that basically mean that they gave them that deal to plead guilty?

How does one go about scheduling a hearing to drop the NCO? Just call the clerk of court?

@Michelle: If you are in Washington State, you can call the office to discuss with Lance. If you are an alleged victim in a pending DV case, often you would either ask the DV advocate or call the Court to see if there is a form to fill out to request a hearing. Thanks for your question!

Thank you for posting this information. Its very important and many of us who don't ever get in trouble dont know what happens. It seems if you can't afford a lawyer you're left in the dark. For example, right now am in a situation where am not sure what to do. I have paid my fees and fines am not sure where to go from there. Do i have to appear at court again?

you can always check the page for the jurisdiction you were charged in and see if you're on the docket. Did you have a public atty? If so I would contact them as well. Good luck.

If the victim doesn’t show would they get in trouble? Colorado

We are not sure about Colorado, but in Washington if a witness does not show, they could get arrested and brought to court. Your milage may vary though, depending on the type of case and history of the prosecutor. For Colorado you would want to contact a Colorado attorney. Criminal law is VERY local. Thanks for watching!
