Can’t help but laugh at Barry’s comments at 1:30. That is one big guy riding that bike!
Did laugh but couldn't help but think it was a bit harsh. Just because you are a bit bigger doesn't mean you have no talent
thiscocks Yeah, you probably wouldn’t get away with making comments like that now days.
@vin I thought he said "like a condom full of peanuts"??
Aerodynamically challenged or what 🤣
90s 500cc rocks.the sounds.the names.the circuits. Exciting
Yeah no freaking rider aids like traction control or wheelie control these guys had to actually ride the bikes with there own skills which is how it should be
Mick outclassed everyone in the mid to late 90s as his championships proved . Kinda takes the excitement out of it when you already know who’s going to win.
I was at this race. Don’t think I’ve ever drank more beer over a weekend. Pure mayhem!
those 500cc engines are some real beasts,,, v4 twostroke 200hp to 160 kg, most challanged bike in race history
No traction control either. Need balls and brains to master these or it's thank you and goodnight 👍
Nah mate, more like 130 kg. My street RG500 was lighter than 160 kg.
Gazza & Dazza great blokes, great commentators & funny as f...k RIP boys. 🙌 we all watch the old 500 GPs with you two bludgers.
This the first pole position who created by Norick Abe on his full debut year riding YZR 500.
But he over-shadowed his teammate, Luca Cadalora and he got runner up place last year points table behind Mick Doohan.
This would’ve been held at PI if it wasn’t for the ban Victoria had on cigarette advertising! I’ve also raced around Eastern Creek and its no where near as good as Phillip Island. It also makes me remember that the two commentators are unfortunately no longer with us. RIP.
Yeah, I remember reading about that ban on cigarette advertising.
Ohhhh Barros Alexandre the best Brazil pilot in total time.
Thanks heaps for uploading these mate! I've watched everything from '94 and am now up to Assen '95. Great to hear Sheene and Eastlake again.
You should really thank my dad for taping these back in the day, because Channel Nine 500cc GP telecasts are very far between. It's a shame that I don't have every round from the 1994 season anymore, you can thank my mum for throwing some of the tapes out many years ago.
@@TrickyMario7654 Thank you, Mario’s dad 😎
Im watching All Of these videos over and over again, they never get boring and actually make me want to Go out and ride My dirt bike, impressive collection of vintage stuff
Thanks for posting
OUTSTANDING ! 👍
Who has the more crazy riding style - Doohan or Abe?
I think Norick Abe. Always right on the limit.
#17.Norick abe?👍👍👍
I think this was really the year when Doohan and the NSR500 became simply untouchable.
Untouchable? Beattie and the RGV500 would have won the championship if it wasn’t for his injury…
@@MCJohn-117 Possibly. But we'll never know. While the RGV & the NSR were probably more or less equal, I still think Mick's ability would have won him the title.
@@colinstewart1432 Dude prior to Daryl’s injury he was leading the championship… Also it’s an enormous shame that the YZR500 was so underpowered cuz surely Cadalora would be a championship contender. Doohan was extremely lucky he was on the bike he was on. Rainey was also schooling Doohan until his retirement, which is one of the main reasons why Doohan won so much.
@@MCJohn-117 Agreed. Every championship has many factors that decided the winner. Honda had a development lead on the big bang engine which put them ahead on power. Beattie was unlucky crashing at Assen. All the top dogs got injured there. Barros had the fastest crash I've ever seen in 500gp in 93 there.
@@colinstewart1432 Precisely. Wherever Repsol goes, controversies and scandals follow.
1. Scwhantz
2. Beattie
3. Nobuatsu Aoki dan Barros
Commentators were kinda hard on the guy at the beginning talking about his size didn't like that to much if he qualified then he has every right to be out there on track with everyone else
It’s a world championship not a ride day.
I have to say, Sheene was a crap commentator
