- My favorite uncle, my Mom's brother Leo, passed away this week. He was a character and always full of life and laughter (and some pretty good jokes). Because Michigan is still under quarantine, they aren't able to have a funeral so we can all properly say goodbye... so this morning, I'm remembering and lifting up one the brightest lights in our family tree...

Since my birthday, 4/25/20... I’m doing a daily FLOG (farm + vlog) here on RUclips. I’m doing my best to make something and share it… EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. (...or as often as I can with a working farm to run, tv shows to make and a sweet little six-year-old to raise).

Sorry to hear about the passing of your favorite uncle Leo. 🕯 RIP 🕯💎🌹 ~~ Port Huron! it's not too far away from my place. Go there every so often. The Blue Water Bridge across the St. Clair River links Port Huron, Michigan, and Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. A very beautiful area of Lake Huron.

Thank you very much for making this . My father in law is James Smith and was Leo's best friend and I've gotten the pleasure of meeting Leo 10 Years ago and basically being a huge part of my life I felt like his granddaughter he was always so super happy to see me always gave me hug. I just absolutely loved him.
Uncle Leo reminds me of my family, too precious! We lost our Daddy on Apr 22 and have not been able to have a memorial service for him yet..... it's a difficult time.We know he is with our Mum and Jesus.....

Oh Rory, what a beautiful tribute to your favorite Uncle Leo! Yes, I can only imagine how fun it was to be with him, as he was always finding the lighter side of life....always making people laugh. I offer my condolences, and ask that will always be comforted by all the wonderful memories to cherish forever. Thank you for sharing Uncle Leo, he reminded me of my Uncle Pete...he was a character as well, and so loved and cherished. We are also from Michigan...blessings!

I use to spend a lot of time with my nephews and niece when they were children. I use to tell them each separately they were my favourite. They use to bantered among each other that they were my favourite , then one Christmas it came up and they all came to me and asked who was the real favourite? I said you all are my favourite. Lol. Thanks for sharing .

"Favorite Uncle Leo"... Everyone should have one. Mine was favorite Uncle Leon (called "Bo", my Mom's big brother), held me up high in his mighty arms when I was four years old to witness my Dad's entire funeral in 1954. Buried him about twenty yards away from Dad two years later when I was six after his truck slid onto the train tracks when neither he nor the train could stop in bad weather, but his two sons, my cousins, thankfully survived.
Rest In Peace Uncle Bo, Rory's Uncle Leo, and all our favorite relatives, the ones who really taught us the meaning of "family".

Mr. Feek, I am sorry for the physical loss of your beloved Uncle Leo. Just in that little snippet I could tell he was a character! But, I know that he lives on because he is safely tucked in your heart. Memories of those special times together will bring you comfort, and make his earthly passing a bit easier. He will live on through stories, and tributes like this Flog. And, the best thing (yes, there can be a best thing even in sadness) is that in your Faith, you know where he is and who he is with and the times they are enjoying.... and, that one day.. IN GODS TIME.. you will see Uncle Leo and all of your precious loved ones gone before once again. Until that day may you smile broadly remembering his twinkling eye and antics. I had a Uncle Leo too, lost him a few years ago. How amazing as a young man, he saved his family from the fire. You might of not had your mama and we might not of had you Rory! Love your Flogs and your mantra ~ to live each day as it’s your last. ❤️ to you and Indiana!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My grandmother came from Michigan in a covered wagon in 1914 she was born in 1910. So she was not very old. They came here to Missouri and settled and raised horses. Last name was Schoonover. My great grandmother was a Cotton. In Boston we have a pew in an old church with our family history on it. Wish I could see it one day. I my did when she was about 17. I love history. Thanks for sharing your flog.

What a truly amazing way to remember your favourite Uncle. Is it wrong to own up to the fact I was laughing at his joke. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I certainly can see why he was a favorite Uncle. What a fun and funny man. Being himself. 😊 I had 3 fav uncles. Each one of them taught me something different and valuable. How to fish when I was little, how to clean them, and also how to grow and maintain my own worm farm for bait. How to play the spoons. So many other things they shared with me. I'd be typing forever. I miss them too, but forever grateful for all they taught me. Newspaper clippings and old black and white photos brought back memories and looked like alot of my memories I have as well. Thank you for sharing your Uncle with us. I am betting that alot of us here have at least one favorite that always makes us smile and laugh when we think of them. Irish background here as well with a pinch or 2 of Scottish thrown in for good measure. 😊Hope you and Indy had a beautiful and fun filled day, Mr. Feek. Thank you for being as real as they come. Never seen a family that get on so well there the best as they have gone throw so much and just so wonderful in the end .bless them all .
😢😢. Having a sad moment watching the tragedy that once again has hit our country. Thinking on the Watts riots and the beating of a black man by the cops on the streets of L. A. And of course of Vietnam protests I’d hope to never see again. Mentally exhausted I then said it should be Flog Day 👍👍👍👍. Like you I had a favorite uncle who always said I was his favorite too. He taught me to draw and sketch and to see the world and it’s simple beauty. Tragedy struck him and his life changed and had to move far away. His best friend then became my favorite uncle #2. Tho he was fighting a horrible disease and I would then visit him. When he tragically died too soon the last visit by favorite uncle #1 made to Calif. was so welcomed. Sketchbooks in hand and a big box it was the best week I longed remembered. When he passed he gifted me with THAT sketchbook and so much more than my heart could hold. Books and published stories and fading photos and so many letters written to his very lifelong friend.....uncle #2. After he’d died he kept writing once a week to that special friend but addressed it back to himself. Odd? And among his last writings there was a letter tho unfinished addressed to me. Just saying I WAS his favorite niece and person for real. Just like you all those treasured memories come flooding back whenever I see then open his treasured box. Mmmm good memories never end they live forevermore. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
