Damn, it's rare to hear Joaquin legitimately talk about the craft of acting and his process. Wish he would open up more like he did here in that regard!
Joaquin phoenix is one of the greatest actors of all time, literally captured such a distinct feeling. He is always been fantastic always been above the standard, just simply one of the greatest actors of all time like him and Daniel Day-Lewis.
Wow.. everyone who's here knows that Joaquin doesn't come out of his shell much for interviews. I can't believe you got him! Awesome interview! This must truly be legit for him to come on and hash out some acting components!
There’s definitely a reason why top talent keeps coming back to you guys. Yet another great interview where someone is noticeably more comfortable opening up compared to others out there
You guys made me wanna watch Napoleon after this. Because of bad reviews I passed on the idea of watching the film, but not anymore. I'm actually excited to watch it now. Great interview.
Such a great interview! Loved that story about how Ridley handled Joaquin’s fear on the set of Gladiator. Wonderful stuff yet again guys! Keep it coming! I need this show mainlined. 😂
So happy we have two episodes this week hope everyone had a good thanksgiving and wow another huge get for boys really hoping you guys can get him and Todd Phillips for the new joker as always another fantastic episode boys everyone like and subscribe and send to a friend so they can do more exciting things like this hopefully a reelblend meet up can happen for the 300 episode
I think this movie could have been Phoenix' best performance but it's a shame that Ridley's lack of understanding of history in general and Napoleon's character limited Phoenix' performance. There was never any character development from a teenager and onto a grown man considering that Napoleon at the beginning of this movie was basically a teenager and the movie ended with him being 51 even though I don't think Ridley seem to care about it or even have any knowledge about it either...
Empowering the actor is so important to the scene if they have the intuitive understanding of the character then let the film roll and the take it will be just right.
As an artist, and human with empathy, I'm reminded again, how cynics and overconfidence in one's intelligence are insufferable assholes, the most talented people are humble, full of wonder, and doubt. Rigidity and black and white thinking kills the creative spirit. I can think of some actors, comedians, and singers who lost, or never had, that spark the more rigid they grew. There are exceptions of course, but it's not the rule.
I've been a fan of Joaquin since I saw him in the movie Joker whose performance made him earn an Oscar, which he's waited for a long time. Regarding Napoleon film, I'm dying to see it at the cinema.
You should have asked why he used an American accent and not French! I know Ridley doesn’t seem to care about that but it drives me NUTS! J was amazing in it tho!
can someone explain the G&G house to me? Isn't Jeremy married with kids; how is it possible he spends all his time at the content house? Unless he divorced his wife?
Whoever did the chapters on this did a worthless job. You can’t just label the whole thing ‘interview’ you need to put what they are talking about. Geezus.
I was so happy when Odin left to go hang out with his family out of indifference to DOCTOR WHO. Odin is the weakest link on FNT, he brings absolutely nothing to the table. He is neither intelligent nor charming nor informed. Ryan's box office analysis has far surpassed Odin's half-baked analyses. He shouldn't be on the show at all. He just kills the energy.
Joaquin is a great actor but couldn't save Napoleon from a farcical script. Hardly anything aside from the costumes and settings is based on historical reality. The film looks more like a character assassination and shattering the idea of a great man changing history by dint of his own efforts.
Well, Napoleon was such a complex person, so extremely hard to capture in just 2.5 hours. I understand historians being disappointed but it is hard to get bio pics exactly right anyways.
This movie was an INSULT to the great French warrior and emperor's legacy. Gladiator was all good from this director but it seems like the WOKE hollywood slowly consumed HIS brain as well sadly. This movie could been such a masterpiece today when we are faced with LGBT & WOKE stuff in every single movies that comes out today and people are desperate to see a masterpiece historical movie with a epic story and emotions and actions with zero gay scene or someone being transgender or someone being black even though the original character were white to please the WOKE media. Sadly, this movie was a BIG Disappointment. Such a shame.
Joaquin literally hasn’t done any interviews for Napoleon, so the fact that he returned to ReelBlend must mean that he really likes you guys! 😁
This is what we are choosing to believe!
The actors were on strike until days ago.
I would be embarrassed of this trashy completely inaccurate movie if I was him too.
😊😊
@@donna25871 The strike ended around the end of October, so a little over a month now.

He's welcome back on ReelBlend any time.

Go back through and listen to our catalogue. Joaquin came on for JOKER, but we've had some really fun guests over the years!
I love Joaquin Phoenix, at least what I know of him. Artistic integrity.

Another great show gentlemen👏👏🔥
The film is already doing big numbers in France.

Napoleon loved his hat. He had 150 of them. He used it as a part of his personal brand.
not in the US, in Ukraine, and your channel is great! thank you!
Just seen the film he is an incredible actor
I am a Napoleon fan and have high hopes for Oscar night. This interview cements my love for the movie.
Welcome, Welcome to the Reelblend podcast, a podcast that is losing members faster than the Suicide Squad. Good Friday to all!

It’s sad how they don’t do one theater out of 10 that actually screen the super long version
I like Cools, minty flavour.
Hollywood is a tough business! The good guys won
Would love to hear thoughts on The Killer
This Friday!
joaquin and bam margera kinda sound similar

Hmm, ok, yawn!
Of course you're a musk fanboy...
Joaquin Phoenix is the worst Napoleon ever!
