Nice review! I'm pretty sure the "breathing" setting for the switch is so you can locate the light in the dark. However, I think on a light this size with such a small battery, it's probably not a good idea to always have it activated as it will slowly drain the battery. I have many lights that have illuminated switches, but they run on 18650's, 21700's, or 26650's and mostly use Anduril for the UI. They can illuminate the switch for many months and barely effect the battery when set to low. With Anduril you usually have the choice of off, low, high, and breathing for illuminated switches.

Good point. Perhaps if the always-on element were located in a position that couldn't potentially be face down in the dirt, it would make more sense?

I have this velcro-mounted on my left side shotgun receiver for short distance home defense. It's perfect for my limited needs.

It doesn't shake out of position due to recoil?

@MoondogReviews no. It's just too light, and the velcro is high quality.

I just got this little flashlight as a freebie with my Pd36r pro purchase from Fenix. I had to check online to make sure it’s reliable before I put it on my keychain. Looks like you put it through hell! Time for this little workhorse to join the everyday fun. Thanks for the video.

I guess breathing mode is for locating the flashlight in dark environments..

That's what I was told the breathing mode was intended for

Hi, breathing mode is for panic or anxiety crisis. This is a guide to regulate the breath and to calm down. Very helpful.

A very nice flashlight, I used to have one for a couple months but then decided to sell and opted for a AAA keychain light.

Interesting, how would you say this holds up against something like the Boruit v3/v10?

Even in Turbo mode (supposedly 900 lumens) the V10 I have is not as bright at the E03R at 500 lumens to my naked eye. The E03R's all metal body is much more durable. But the V10 has much better and intuitive controls.

Not by itself. Unless you're fighting vampires.

I have it mounted to the left side of my shotgun receiver using 3M velcro. It's a great flood-light out to 30yds on 500lm setting. And it will stay at that 500lm level for about 30 minutes before the first step down. So, for momentary home-defense situations It's great to flood the area and identify targets under 50 yards away. Velcro is great, allowing me to easily remove the light. The velcro holds well during shooting because the light is such a small mass. I mounted it this way because I find other mounting solutions undesirable for my particular shotgun with wood furniture, which isn't at all a tactical shotgun. I do not like barrel mounted lights. In battle, this light would be ridiculous. But for home-defense, it has plenty of light and run time. I don't mind that it's white mode first. I don't mind cycling the modes. I just want to be able to get light on my field of view. Cheers.
