I think the biggest problem wasn’t you guys jamming together but rather cranking your amp up that much in a super crowded store in a super crowded city in a country where being loud and obnoxious is frowned upon
Sir. This is an instrument store and they weren't even that loud lol. If this is too loud how are you ever supposed to test their drums? Like you can EASILY hear the clerk over the amps and the clerk wasn't even speaking loudly. These amps were at most set to volume 1 or 2. You can tell the speakers aren't being driven hard by the sound of the tone as well.

For my money, a heavy Loomis groove with a soaring Warrel belt over it is like the essence of metal in its purest form. I wish Jeff would start another band with a melodic singer - his songwriting talents aren’t being utilized in Arch Enemy at all

The employee has a heavy accent which most likely means he doesn’t speak english that well, that means “session” in this case probably means something different to what you would understand. The guys were playing their guitars which would be ok on it’s own but they were recording and they probably played for a while hence why the employee felt the need to approach them. They just probably didn’t want them to treat their store as a “film studio” that could deter costumers from going in and trying guitars.

If you tell someone not to play guitar in a guitar store that is equivalent to telling someone that they won’t have any coffee in a coffee store. Which means “gtfo of my store”. The amount of people who does not understand this is too high and that is really concerning. That means people are not getting the signals of others anymore which in this case would end up with aggression for sure because the owner would have to tell them in a rude way if they refused to leave.

Another guy came in and we jammed out for a bit, worker came over and said it was awesome to have some actual guitar players in the store because the day before two kids played Smells like teen spirit and Seven Nation Army over and over and were awful XD

Yeah, I had that happen at a guitar center once. If they see you playing with someone you walked in there with they’ll tell you to have your band practice/jam session at home. They don’t mind if you’re trying stuff out by yourself but they don’t want people coming in there just to practice with their buddies.

there’s a deeper issue, if you think every guitar player that has skill, and plugs in at a music store is trying to make you feel bad… SOME maybe(and that’s a select few), but most players are just trying to have fun and express themselves… some are trying to get over a secret fear of playing in public(something you MUST try to conquer if you EVER want to play onstage)… some just have a bright ‘see me’ entertaining personality by nature (which also helps in a career in entertainment) Also, people getting angry because of players doing sweeps, and other techniques should realize, if someone is an actual onstage performing musician, one of the things you MUST do, is to be able to play those runs, riffs and tricks that are MOST difficult to YOU in front of people, until you can easily and confidently play them with balls and confidence… or else make yourself look and feel lame come showtime when you’re actually onstage Why automatically assume that someone is trying to do something negative and make you feel bad… sometimes it’s about these players working on their public confidence and/or are just trying to enjoy themselves…
I went to a guitar shop with a mate once and we got told off for jamming. he then asked us if we wanted to buy the fire extinguisher. he finished with "....are you guys actually going to buy anything?" never went back.
I typically buy a gtr at whatever country I go to for biz. At Nagasaki I was told I could try some guitars (acoustic) then got yelled at. I am never loud. I bought an S.Yairi w/ case at a diff shop. The gtr was a great deal because it was domestic. Then I bought a tuner & accessories that ended-up being REALLY pricey because they were inports. Lesson learned.
