- @AdrienRaza 4X European Flatland Skimboarding Champion had the incredible opportunity to flood the iconic skatepark @berrics . What followed had never been done in this skatepark and is something entirely new to the sport of Skimboarding. Adrien has revolutionized the sport of skimboarding by taking a whole new approach. He has grown an incredible following on his social media channels because of his Urban Skimboarding. Crazy idea. Back in the 70 and 80's we had air hockey tables. What if you designed a park that had a similar design and boards that skimmed or hovered? Make the ground out of that playground material to keep injuries minimal, you know like Catchsurf foam.
Thats actually a pretty awesome idea! I like your thinking. Not so sure who to talk to execute that idea though haha

@@thedemmonstrator get on with it. I aint got no money. But i think that this model could fit into playparks across the country. On the extreme side, think of giant jumps and transitions using this "float on air technology".

The reason why Air Hockey pucks float effortlessly over the table is because the weight of the puck is balanced & surface area is distributed evenly.
So yes, the skimboard itself , if shaped & balanced correctly, will float effortlessly. BUT... As soon as someone steps on the skimboard, exterior force disrupts the balance. & you will just sink onto the floor.
Seeing Blair being scared really puts what Adrian does in perspective. Fantastic collab guys!
Totally out of my comfort zone. I have also hurt myself skating a few times so that doesn't help with the confidence over concrete

@@SkidKids Ever consider a cheapo wetsuit jacket to pad your hips, ribs and arms a bit? May make it a bit on the warm side, but reduction of impact might be worth it.
I don't think he was scared as much as he didn't want to do something dangerous, and/or stupid. In this case it's both. Because when it's all said it done, the footage doesn't look very cool or impressive. Props to Blair for not doing something he didn't want to.
Falling in the sea is much more fun than concrete. Lol
Nice to see two of the biggest ambassadors of the sports of skimboarding in the last decade, Blair (wave) and Adrian (flatlanding), do this nice collab in The Berrics. So sick! I am proud to see have seen the developement of Adrian as a skimboarder from the beginning.

This is extra funny because the original skate parks were the empty swimming pools of the mid 70s. Now they're making skate parks that look like city streets and turning them into swimming pools for fun. :P

It’s always going to be the wind. With a wave pool it eliminates the wind
that's gonna cause mold problems if you don't prevent it
Whereas concrete may not be killer, it can and is almost always a bone crusher / breaker. With the utmost care, my friends!

Put a little dish soap in the water and sweep it up on the incline just before a ride, might make it a little to a lot faster, three push brooms or squeegees to get enough coverage, then Zoom!!
