To succeed as a manager it’s not enough that your tactics are bulletproof but you need to able to educate your players on positions, movements and tactics of your football. This requires a group of players who are willing to listen and learn from you. Thats more important than anything at the highest level when assembling a team. Because at the end of the day - the faith and willingness of players to execute on the managers tactics is what plays out on the field in a game. The manager is not the main driver but the players are. This is why clubs where you have toxic know it alls and unprofessionals among the players doesn’t succeed - examples are Chelsea and Manchester United. Poch and Ten Hag are not bad managers - their players don’t have any discipline to execute their tactics in a game especially when things aren’t going their way. Every manager at this level has outstanding tactics and footballing brain. Some are probably slightly better but the reason teams perform differently is inherently down to how much the players understand a managers tactics and is willing to give 100% towards it.
@@vinhnguyenthe4415 for United situation, it wasn't just about willingness to execute but u got to have right gameplan and decent back up plan at the start. This is Ten Hag's fault for not building the right gameplan at the start of this season and not have decent back up plan in place. Players like Bruno, Rashford are counter attacking machines at the end of the day. What's even more insulting is Ten Hag got it horribly wrong in Sancho and Antony. The actual reason why Sancho doing so well at Dortmund is the gameplan Sancho is in, specifically Lucien Favre's tactics Borussia Dortmund in 3 years (18/19 season to 20/21 season). btw I watched a lot of Bayern and Dortmund games so I fully understand Sancho's tactical profile

Soon we’ll see this flexibility be the norm in the pl, Everton have also got this ability to play two different playstyles (but not to the same level as villa)
Everton were rancid like villa and now are very well drilled and great to watch. Goes to show players can give it their all to the right man in charge. Dyche is underrated. He doesn't get the tools like most managers get. Yet gets the most out of players. Sometimes a manager is better at motivation while others are great at coaching. Unai coaching but maybe lacks motivation skills as he's known to fall out with players. Dyche a motivation guy. Loyal to a fault but won't get mentioned for his teams style in a positive way. But fair play to him and Everton you look good. His critics can piss off as far as im concerned. A good guy I'm sure those relegation scraps are well gone now for Everton. Good luck for the season. And I might also add ten point deduction was criminal. Especially when nothing was hidden and honesty was given on the offset. Chelsea and man city though are different circumstances should be penalised more as they actively hide and hire elite lawyers to make it go away. That lacks credibility. Everton despite the faults of the guys running the club was at least forthright in owning up to their slight misdeeds.
Emery also has a way with mid tier (financially) teams. Teams that are not quite Man City rich but have enough resources and pedigree to push for a top 4 finish and maybe even win the Europa League. The Villarreals, Sevillas, and now Aston Villa. You don't expect them to win the League but you expect them in contention for Europe. Maybe one day he'll finish what he's cooking and win a top 5 league with a mid tier team.

Villa have the second wealthiest owners in the league after Newcastle (third if you consider City owned by the UAE rather than Sheikh Mansour). The only thing holding us back in terms of finance is revenue, as FFP regulation means that teams cannot spend like City and Chelsea have done in the past. This is why Chelsea's spending was such a big deal last January, with the accounting trick of amortisation allowing them to skirt FFP regulation. Even still, Villa are 8th in terms of squad value, 2m below Newcastlein 7th but 150m above Brighton in 9th. Add on the extra European spot and it's clear there's a Big 8 in the PL now with Villa among them. And Villa have a very demanding fanbase due to being one of the most successful English clubs in history. Add to that even more demanding owners who have came out on multiple occasions saying that they wanna secure Villa in the top 4. All we needed was someone good enough to put thigs together on the footballing side. Emery is so much more than "good enough" - he is literally *the guy*. The video above proves that.
@bacchic6676 Still Villa have not been expected to challenge anything in recent seasons. You've been a second division team within the last 10 years and you sold your captain and best play in a while to a 'super club' not too long ago. You're are one level below the 'super clubs'. This is not an insult or a knock against Villa. It simply makes what Villa have achieved the more impressive.
Emery has found his place in Villa. After all those wasted stints at PSG, Arsenal. @@Izi-i2o102 Yup, once the coaches (And there is a lot of world class coaches in the premier league) Has done what they can to prepare the teams its all up to the players to perform.
They are doing amazing when they play against structured and strong teams, beating everyone in their own game. But They are not good when they play against chaotic and unorganized teams (like Man United) that don't have the slightest way to attack as a team And rely on their fast winger's individual efforts and luck.
You don't know Renato Gaucho. he's a genius and reinvent his team according to the adversary/scenario. Gremio have had always a lot of injured players, never plays with full power.
many say Renato's Gremio got no close of Madrid's goal in 2017 at world club finals, but he fought prime CR7/full power Madrid without his entire middlefield, because Arthur, Maicon , Michel and Douglas were injured and Luan was playing with a painful problem on his feet. He even managed to block Gremios goal area and not concede spaces to Madrid.
Ok, with reference to the Spurs vs Bournemouth match: why do managers/ coaches instruct their goalkeepers to make short passes rather than the traditional way of clearing the ball by going long and wide? It has been the undoing of many teams this season.
At least at spurs, it's because they aren't in position yet to attack, so it's better to make short passes to keep possession. It's a bit hard to see on camera though because they only focus on where the ball is at the moment.
This might be an unpopular opinion and don't me wrong Villa are decent but I think they have been more lucky than good. There was a phase that Emery went through with Arsenal where he went unbeaten for like 25 games but after that the collapse started and they could not recover and the underlying numbers indicated that Arsenal were lucky. Villa's expected points indicates that they should have at least 6-8 points fewer than they have and even the eye test shows that they are winning some games that may not be deserved. Again they are playing great football but not good enough to compete for the title. Man City will are an unstoppable juggernaut and will be favorites to win. The crucial thing for Villa will be how they perform in the last 10 games. If they are up for it I see them challenging for the top 4
it's an unpopular opinion because it's already been disproved. You clearly haven't really been watching Villa. They have already performed like this for more than an entire calendar year - it's not a purple patch. Emery has already surpassed his form at Arsenal, and there's no signs of it slowing down. In fact, this couldn't be more different to Arsenal in terms of how much trust and buy-in and support he actually has. He's also surpassed Pep's win rate that he had in his first 50 games for City. Villa have had their best start to a season EVER, and every other season they had a start like this they went on to win the league. Already if you look at all the points gained in 2023 they are second only to Man City - who are now looking the weakest they've ever looked under Pep. And the thing is, all of this is now backed up by underlying numbers - not luck. It's not a sudden patch of form, it's a sustained and continuous show of real results backed up by real changes that are observable in the data. I'm not saying Villa will go on to win the league. But I am saying that they have every likelihood of maintaining solid form for the rest of the season, and every chance of finishing in the top 3.
@@user-ed7et3pb4o Actually you literally said what I said that they won't win the title and that they will be in the top 4 conversation, while disagreeing with me at the same time. The only thing is you say they will finish in the top 3. Nonetheless, if you are that confident let's have a bet. After reviewing the underlying numbers and the current squad depth, I'm willing to bet on my bottom buck that Villa won't finish in the top 3. My prediction is they will fight for 4th along with Newcastle and Tottenham. What is your prediction and we can revisit this comment at the end of the season
You used the word deserved and immediately lost all credibility. Deserved isnt something you can measure in football. Xg has screwed with peoples minds. You win draw or lose. Thats it.
Oh yeah. And the fact we arent that impressive in your opinion is even better. It means we are picking up wins while not firing on all cylinders. Imagine when we do click like you saw against Man City

If not, then you have not highlighted anything new about Villa that I did not highlight in my original comment , apart from reconfirming the fact that Villa fans are over sensitive..
Biggest thing unai has brought is the rub of the green. Tactics are better yes. More wins yes. More chances in games yes. Better players yes. But luck aswell has risen up. I feel that's when you switch to elite level. 50 50 things go more your way. And you win playing poorly.
lazy take. Villa have been playing this good since Emery took over. Last year they literally gave the rest of the league a 12 game headstart and still finished in a European place. In the entirety of 2023 and 40 odd games only City have picked up more points than Villa. Villa currently have the best home form in the league and, out of all the top sides, have the best record against other top sides this season. They have had the best start to a season in their history and basically every other season they've had that's started this good, they've gone on to win the league. They have been rotating consistently and managing minutes well with few injuries apart from the unfortunate ones at the start of the season - after January they can look forward to getting players back from injury more than losing players to injury. For the next 2-3 months they don't have to play midweek games since they finished top of their group in Europe. There is absolutely no reason they can't keep up with the 'top 5', whoever they're supposed to be (and seriously, who's in the top 5? What even is that?) Villa are a big club, with one of the best managers and squads in the league, money to spend and hunger to win. They're one of the best run clubs in the league, with upgraded infrastructure and a fully functioning staff who are all 100% committed to the project. They aren't here to mess around. They're the real deal, a sleeping giant waking up and ready to retake their rightful place as football royalty.
I’m afraid to say, but they have most certainly not faded off since January. They have achieved something outstanding in regard to CL qualification, especially if you consider the amount of long term injuries to key players. Emery, who took over the club from a position where they were in all likelihood going to be in a relegation battle, or at best a fight to finish mid table. He was the perfect fit for the club. A group of players with the potential for huge improvement on an individual basis, but also a close knit bunch of players without huge egos that were willing to listen and take on board the information and strategic value of the excellent coaching staff. Essentially, the whole squad bought into his vision.

Very good explanation 😁👍. This helps opponents to stop villa 😅😂
Nowadays the tactics are very similar. Could you make a video explaining what really makes the difference in a football match?
The players
Moving without the ball
@@Izi-i2o102 Yup, once the coaches (And there is a lot of world class coaches in the premier league) Has done what they can to prepare the teams its all up to the players to perform.
Adaptability is the way forward 💯
I love your analysis brother ❤
They are doing amazing when they play against structured and strong teams, beating everyone in their own game.
But
They are not good when they play against chaotic and unorganized teams (like Man United) that don't have the slightest way to attack as a team
And rely on their fast winger's individual efforts and luck.
Like and subscribed, very good football channel
First team to use the box midfield is ten haag ajax and he also used it in the prem
A little on Barça's structure without a pivot, creating and missing lot of chances..
Hopefully we get a video
Amazing video
Pls can you do a video about klopp's tactical plans for Liverpool
They have a very accurate aggressive system that can confuse coaches
@FootballMeta x AIDA 🚀🚀🚀
So what happened agaiinst Spurs, before Bentencurs injury?
Super interesting. Thanks
Hi, in your opinion, what is the most important 3 things players under 10 have to learn to improve their game?
Would want you analyse how Real Madrid are good with Bellingham
Ok, with reference to the Spurs vs Bournemouth match: why do managers/ coaches instruct their goalkeepers to make short passes rather than the traditional way of clearing the ball by going long and wide? It has been the undoing of many teams this season.
At least at spurs, it's because they aren't in position yet to attack, so it's better to make short passes to keep possession. It's a bit hard to see on camera though because they only focus on where the ball is at the moment.
Even at Arsenal he mentioned that he wanted to transform Arsenal into a 'chameleon team'
Can you do a video about Enzo's Leceister
@@TheBeliever82 You can play around with Semantics however you want, that's your prerogative. My only point to Villa fans is put your money where your mouth is....Are you willing to wager that Villa will win the title this season? If yes, then we can revisit this comment. If not, then you have not highlighted anything new about Villa that I did not highlight in my original comment , apart from reconfirming the fact that Villa fans are over sensitive..
So this is the perfect system. I didn't hear any disadvantage.
how do you access each teams games and able to watch it? also is there a way of watching it from a tacticle camera?
I use wyscout, it's a platform for scouts and analysts and you can rewatch basically every game
Second to watch first to comment. Lovely Content.

So basically Emery is doing what Ole wanted to do with United butnwith a better board and committed players?
it was ragnick.
@@AWY-LO Ole as well
And we all thought sir alex went cuckoo on the 1 game of the season when they lost 5 1 😂
And suddenly Jose's park the bus has become "more likeable and impressive".
Aston Villa whenever they concede:
What if emery manage chelsea club?
Get a playmaking sweeper to overcome this problem.
Only teached me not to put Watkins as my Cap in FPL last night
They are going to be number 1 in the league mark my words!
No fast pace wingers Bailey and diaby are rapid
even real Madrid use this formation in the last games
The difference between a plan and a strategy..

Sorry to tell you guys but we at arsenal are guranteed the league 🏆🏆
Lol
Lmao even.
Fun fact Aston Villa has more champion league trophies than psg
More fun facts more European cups and than the combined efforts of Arsenal - spurs and new castle combined

I wanna be your student
After last night at OT, it is obvious Emery has been chancing...there is no real football there.
Biggest thing unai has brought is the rub of the green. Tactics are better yes. More wins yes. More chances in games yes. Better players yes. But luck aswell has risen up. I feel that's when you switch to elite level. 50 50 things go more your way. And you win playing poorly.
Tactics...first minute...
And then playing a draw against Sheffield United, hah
Yes, they are playing well, no doubt.
But after January, they won't be able to keep up with the pack in the top 5.
What even is that?)
Villa are a big club, with one of the best managers and squads in the league, money to spend and hunger to win.
