The booing was very disrespectiful and uncalled for. Miss Philippines won in the first place and was misread, Miss Philippines did NOT steal the crown. Now Philippines is getting a lot of hate for absolutely no reason at all. She is deserving to win, and after 42 years since Philippines won, we are long overdue of another win. Colombia already won last year, and it seemed quite greedy that many people would hate on Philippines for stealing "their crown". Accept defeat, and accept the fact the being First Runner Up is still an incredible placing out of 80 contestants.

4/4 of the judges voted for Miss Philippines... in all of the categories for the global votes Miss Philippines was ranked #1... as for the candidates votes: that was not announced. but officially not counting the candidates votes which is 1/6 of the votes... Miss Philippines won 5/5 of the known votes... meaning Philippines won by a homerun!!! Steve Harvey's mistake... perfect for Miss Columbia! for this she was given 2 minutes of fame which should have all belonged to Miss Philippines who was gracious enough not to make this initial missed coronation a big deal. when Miss Philippines name was called as Miss Universe...she hesitantly came up and patiently with all dignity waited for her rightful crown. Miss Universe Philippines... that was the classiest act and attitude... fitting for a Miss Universe indeed!!!

I was like feeling Pia she's looking at Colombia when she went in front she was like she wanted to hug or talk to her but she kinda looked away when she saw colombia not acknowedging her presence. i was literally praying colombia would be graceful enough to hug or extend congratulations to pia after turning the crown but she didnt!! considering her feelings but it was the most gracious thing at that moment for her to do. so sad 😐

Blaming Colombia had received the crown at the time was named as the winner? thus the winner received as a whole and for many it was a real moment. Miss Colombia's answer to the question about why she should be Miss U hurt her. I was hoping she would try to talk about a foundation or organization she would like to work with maybe helping her fellow countrymen/countrywomen who have no shelter, no medical help or no clean water but she never mentioned any of that. She talked about her qualities needed to win. I know each woman in the contest has the qualities to win that is why all of the them were there to begin with. Sadly Miss Colombia's answer wasn't enough to win. EDIT: update 01/23/2023 looking back at this Miss Universe is in the title. It's not solely about the woman who wears the crown. It is not just the one country it's about the entire universe multiple countries. Pia did not take away the crown. Steve named the incorrect country human mistake that we still about today. Wow.

But to my surprise, her reactions were truly genuine and humble even tho she was in the verge of tears after she was called as the true winner. Not everyone inside the Axis knew what the hell was going on since most people's eyes were glued to Steve Harvey and Ariadna Gutierrez.
The only ones in the building who knew the actual result that night on December 20, 2015 were from the judges including Miss Universe 2012's Olivia Culpo and Miss Australia's Monika Radulovic said in an interview on the Australian news show Sunrise that the teleprompter told Pia Wurtzbach, "Philippines, please take your walk as Miss Universe."
Once Harvey realized his screwup, mayhem ensued.

The real hero in this is Paulina Vega, she really handled this pretty well. As a Filipino, I admire her so much, she was kind to Pia, yet nurturing to Ariadna, her fellow Colombian and at the same time, she was pacifying the fans while she was taking charge of the awkward situation. She upheld Colombians in my eyes, she is truly a great role model. Hope all Colombians acted like her, but I understand the emotions, but clearly, Paulina is a queen.

Filipino's was still at shock inside the theater and the Latinos are all mad. They did boo Pia and chant Columbia. Very disrespectful but I hope the Ms Universe Org will give Pia a better lime light on stage by 2016 when she pass her crown to the next yr winner. But still we have to celebrate since Pia is the one staying in the luxurious apartment at The Big Apple and have all the duties and privileges of the TRUE winner.

If anyone deserved to be booed, it should have bene Steve Harvey. How on earth could a man of his experience blundered on such a straight forward announcement is a not only a total embarrassment to him but also to the Miss Universe organisation itself. He should be barred from hosting ANY live events, let alone the Miss Universe!He had two chances to read the results correctly ( one from the teleprompter and the other from the cue cards), but he messed it up big time. SHAME ON HIM. Because of him, both Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines were left shocked and bewildered.Miss Colombia had the unwanted honour of having the shortest reign ( all 3 minutes of it ) of being Miss Universe and having the crown snatched from her head by the outgoing Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega whilst poor Miss Philippines miss her moment of glory of not being crown and taking her 1st walk as Miss Universe in front of a live TV audience. In the end, no one should have any grouses about Philippines emerging as the rightful winner. She was superb all round.

I feel sorry for Ms. Colombia because it was utter humiliation. I feel sorry for Ms. Philippines because she was robbed of that glorious and shining moment. Steve deserves kindness for owning up to his mistakes. The card had three winners written on it starting with the 2nd runner-up on top of which Steve managed to read correctly the first time. 1st runner-up was on the middle. I think when Steve saw the "1st" , he impulsively thought it was for Ms. Universe. But I think he meant to call the 1st runner-up. Ms. Universe was written at the bottom in bigger letters.
Anyway, Paulina handled it so well. I love you Paulina!
