I remember going to see American Graffiti. My high school boyfriend, then husband, had a 1970 Nova 2 door. Three on the floor. Cragar rims on large tires. Dice on the rear view mirror. Tassels around the rear window with black fur in the window. Large tachometer on the front dashboard. It was rust colored with a black roof. That car I learned to drive a stick. Had it 1974-1977. Hi Jeff, you posted the placard for the movie and it is emblematic of my life in that it asks "where were you in 62" well that was the year that I graduated from high school. I lived in Dos Palos and although it was much smaller than Modesto we had our own cruise nights and car culture. I took college prep classes but took auto shop as an elective, my favorite class in HS. I came at car culture from the same angle as George Lucas in that I was more into sports cars and road racing than hot rods. My first car was a 1958 Triumph TR3 which I only had for 6 months and wrecked. Not to put a downer on modern car culture but what some people look on as hot rods were not in 1962. Pickup trucks were the transportation of country bumpkins, low riders were not a thing and Mustangs and Cameros were not even on the designers table. Corvettes and T-birds were a thing for the wealthy and hot rods were home built because that was all that the average car guy could afford. As always your video was interesting and informative and I never miss one. 😎 🏁

He said after it's out of our theater I will give you one and I gave him my number and he even called me back...Wow ! I still have it on the wall today and many other items of the movie. 🤣
I was into Hockey and Baseball but completely walked away from it and got into cars big time. Glad you enjoyed it, Chris! I am starting to sense that my mostly male audience really wants to see more car videos! What year were you cruising? I was out there in 1978-79-80 in a 1974 Camaro. Like I said, too many near rear-ends looking at the girls. I saw a lot of front ends and radiators destroyed doing that same thing!

The steering Wheel was almost as large as the car itself. BTW.. Your viewers wont be disappointed at all, as this is still a story of History!

Very cool! Thanks for sharing those great memories. I had a 1974 Camaro LT and it was powerful because it had a 350 V8 engine with a four barrel carburetor and that thing could get up and go when you punched it to the floor. I had that thing up to over 100 miles an hour and scared me to death and I never did that again. Unfortunately, the thing began to fall apart and I was too poor to fix it up. The doors were so long on that thing and the bushings used to hold it up were failing so the doors would never close right and on top of that I had a fake leather top and it leaked water onto the metal roof and it began to rust, so I just got rid of it. Wish I had it back.

Just think American Graffiti is 50 years, old that kind of qualifies as a historical event. As a car guy all my life I appreciate A.G. for flashbacks to my youth, Hollywood Knights is another I watch periodically. My first car in 1959 was a 1946 Chevy. I have had just about all the cars I have ever wanted but the funny thing is I always come up with another I desire. Right now I have 3 57 Chef. pick up, 49 Mercy and a 41 Graham Hollywood. Looked like a good cruise, thanks for sharing it.

Thank you for doing a video on American Graffiti in Modesto. We live close by and have attended the cruise night many times. Thank You Brother for this video.
Every vehicle shown was superb, except for the little truck that seemed to be a Frankenstein.
As I watched the street parade of Old iron, i felt an overwhelming sense of nostalgia, yeah the exhaust is abhorrent, but it's intoxicating when you've grown up working on them, and continue to see them in your daily career as I've been blessed to be able to do. I call that exhaust smell, a "car auction" smell as that was where I originally found it en masse as a youngster.
Wasn't much of a movie buff growing up, but cars, yeah THOSE caught my interest early on...
Thanks again for posting this, stay Blessed and have a Safe and Happy Independence Day.
