These cameras are amazing value for money, giving ethernet, wifi, microphone and speaker. I’ve just bought a TP-Link Tapo 2K Outdoor Pan/Tilt camera, this will be here tomorrow, and only £69. I’m going to try this for a while and see how it goes. They are so easy to get working unlike professional ethernet cameras with recorder. The only thing I’d say they lack and I might be wrong about this is no Poe, but not the end of the world really. Thanks for this review I’ll probably get one of these at some point 20DOES Not working in the U.K. unfortunately
How long can the motion dectection clips be? I seen the demo you did was only 25 seconds, i have a blink mini and it does 30 second clips but thats still to short imo. I would like a minute or possibly longer.
I liked most everything about this camera but will need to rewatch the presentation to find out how it's sending your cell notifications. My modem seems to be a pos with respect to my cell phone Text/call services. I know it's not the phone because the situation is the same for both cell phones. Google and FB work fine for instance. Anyway, thanks for sharing the review of this awesome camera. I think I've found my solution. The public service that you provide is phenomenal. Thanks again.
Hi Thanks for the video. I have set the C20WS camera and worked fine. My house is located facing the street and this camera is set up to get the view of my front yard where my cars are parked. Just after my driveway line there is pedestrian pathway and then the road. It triggers loads of notification especially at night if some car passes by, and if shadow creeps into the the field of my camera from the pedestrian pathway. i have reduced all the levels to 2-3 setting. From midnoon till evening notifications are bit less. But from evening 5pm until 9am phone bombards with notification. Is there any chance to reduce this? or any polarized filter or film/surround guard that would help?
Great Review as always. I would think that the subscription is almost required. Since the video is stored on the SD chip all someone has to do is steal the camera and all the footage of them doing so is gone. There is a lot to like about this camera. But I don't know if it is enough to make me change from my NEST cameras which record 24/7 to the cloud at what I think is a very reasonable price. But Google Nest cameras don't come close to this image quality and the Google apps don't have nearly this many settings.
thxs for the nice review. but unfortunately my experience with TAPO is horrible. I am using C325WB and this CCTV stops / freezes every 3-4 days....especially during night. I tried auto-reboot but no luck and absolute zero support from Zero. So for me this CCTV is a a worst buy of my life
My Tapo 320 alerts on any movement even a moth flying by. I have not yet figured out how to set the sensitivity lower for insects and shadows when the sun moves about.
@@SrGary1000 So everything off except person detection? Currently, I have on motion detection vehicle detection area intrusion and line crossing. I will just use person detection and see if that works. Thanks.
@@thesilentgeneration Yes, Make sure AI is enabled. The Motion detection works but it can be triggered by moving leaves, bugs, even by by headlight beams, or shadows cast from a distance away.
Daylight is fine, the "night color" is just weird and makes you look like a ghost, can't recognize faces either so pretty useless, slighty better with lights on at night i'de say.

Wow, that's the bet yet regarding night vision, overall clarity and speed of response! Yes, this is now on our list! Caveat is the plug not fitting.
Can it be converted to POE using injector and module at the camera?
You left out one of its major features. Motion detection through glass. Not many out there have that ability.

Did Tapo compensate you for this review? Did they approve it before it was published?

Wouldn't that be a good situation for using the "person detection" mode? That should remove all other motions, not recognized to be a person.

If it is on the house internet connection, than it would be able to be recorded if you have a DVR or NVR. Mine does.
blurry? at 12:50?
Can you access the system from more than one smartphone?
Yes as many
Does this camera work with powerbank?
No!
Do you have a new Amazon code?

@@SrGary1000 Okay, thanks a lot for the info. Will do.
Love this review.. thinking of buying. What Micro SD card would you recommend for these cameras. Too many out there to choose.
that plug is a no go for outdoor use...

Will this camera work with Synology Surveillance Station integraton?
Yes
Great video! 👍
Thanks for detailed review.
Set these Tapo cameras on a VLAN on a switch because these get hacked so easy please be safe if you buy Tapo camera.
picture quality of your face at night time you can never make out a face picture it was just a big blur
Is the Tapo ColorPro compatible with Blue Iris?
I wish it was PoE...
These are stupid cameras. They should be solar powered !
yeah, that totally makes these stupid cameras, john.
Do you have a new Amazon code?
