- Searching for an honest adventure right out their backdoor, a group of skiers and snowboarders travel south from Reno, Nevada on bicycles loaded down with ski and camp gear. Their sights on Mt. Whitney and the endless backcountry ski terrain along the way, these off-the-couch bikers hilariously struggle to keep both wheels moving along the iconic Highway 395 from a new angle: the Sierra saddle vista.

@@anthonyrogers8427 Take a look at the credits; only two shooters, one who is on the trip. I'd assume the other one was as well, or in a tag car, which is still the footprint of heading down to the east side to ski for a weekend.
Yes but is it realistic, I love my road bike and snowboard but would probably get sick doing this unfortunately.

Somehow I just bumped into this video, even though its 3 years old! I love this mission. It shows the true heart and soul of splitboard mountaineering, and just human powered stoke. Hell yes Nick and friends! :)
That is an epic journey right here in our backyard. Great video and story. I drive up and down 395 a few times per year, and I can't imagine riding bikes up and over all of those passes.

"With an average grade of 8% we were in for a beating..." You need to go bike the Ozarks and east coast stuff. Excellent video dudes - awesome to see the creativity. Bike touring is the best!
Being familiar with many of the climbs in the Sierra, an 8% average often means there are many sections in the double digits. Many of the Sierra climbs are well over 10 miles in length. That and the altitude which is often above 8000 feet, some above 10,000 feet. I've ridden in the east too. Not saying eastern stuff isn't tough, it's just apples and oranges.
Bishop has some of the best stream fishing in California. I Used to camp there every summer growing up
