Mama Cat: Perséphone (Pear). Took her in while pregnant due to a neighbour neglecting her. All black. Has thumbs. Pretty sure she's a dove.
1: Charlie aka sweet baby. All black with no thumbs. He thinks he's spiderman and climbs in the window screens. His favorite snack is wtv book I'm currently reading.
2: Clawdia (Nibbles). Black and white with a beauty mark. She has thumbs... wouldn't surprise me if she stole them. She's pure chaos but she purrs and cuddles me so it's fine.
3: Harry Houdini (Chunky). Black with a white patch on his chest. Has thumbs. If it's eatable, he will try to eat it. Unless it's dry food. He's high maintenance and only wants wet food. He's a cuddle bug. I can't even go to the bathroom alone.

I loved the Goblin Emperor, hopefully you will too! I personally feel like it verges on cozy fantasy, but there is a weightiness to the plot and character elements that maybe some people would disagree is cozy...It's the emphasis on character growth and relationships feels cozy to me. The Witness for the Dead/Grief of Stones are more side-quels to the Goblin Emperor, since they follow a secondary character from that book - they are great too!:)

I loved The One, but there's no particular order you should read John Marrs books. Just The Marriage Act after The One. The passenger was a good, too. If you are interested in historical crime I would recommend Oscar de Muriels Frey&McGray series. It's so unique and it's with seven books completed. And the plot is everytime with something unnatural and it's set in Edinburgh ❤

There are many corners of Booktube that do "Shorty September" so this is a great month to get those short books in (not that I can manage to ever follow all these themed months, but if you have a bunch of short books, it's a good excuse! And you'll be in good company)
The Goblin Emperor is the *best* !!!! Wholesome fantasy with a bit more political intrigue than many cozies but the main character is just a straight-up good person who you want all the good things for. The two other books are just set in the same world, following a minor character, so it's still a standalone.

I think she makes some interesting points, but some things she says seem like a stretch. She is/was a host of the Sounds Like a Cult podcast, which took a sharp turn for the awful and there was a lot of drama going on with it, so I think that may have also colored my opinion a bit. Her other book, Cultish, is also sort of interesting- much like this one, raises some good points but some things seem like a stretch. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I’m also about halfway through The Adult Children book. Def some “ohhhh” moments for me, too, but not devastating as others have claimed.

For Read it or Unhaul it, since you mentioned pre-choosing a book that had been on your shelf for ages, maybe you could also do that for future vlogs if you're really not feeling selecting one at random, provided that the book has been on your shelf for *insert reasonable number of years*? Since that would go with the spirit of the challenge but could feel less stressful.

To me, Back to School vibes equals Fall Vibes. Heck. The pumpkin spice everything is already out most places & people who do Halloween up big are already putting up decor. I'm here for all the cozy, witchy, magical, mystery vibes. My tastes seem to be at opposite ends right now. Cozy magical vibes & historical fiction with a feminist bent. If any of them happen to include authors/libraries/bookshops/literary world in general... I'm hooked. It lands on my TBR & then I'm dismayed I can only read about 2-3 books a week. Yellowface & Wordsl*t are on my TBR too. I've heard great things from people I trust about both. And the covers! Love the bright yellow. Srsly... I'd love to see you do a video about "bookish books" or "books for book lovers" and maybe make some recommendations/try viewer recommendations.
I'm definitely thinking a viewing of Practical Magic is in order to set the right tone for impending Witch B*tch Fall vibes... and of course, with a black cat in my lap & a steaming cup of cocoa.
I feel like the people who read the Emotionally Immature Parents book who find themselves crying are seeing the features in themselves & worry about it impacting their own children.

J'habite dans le nord de la France, l'automne est là depuis bien longtemps, nous on a pas eu d'été alors que le reste du monde atteint des records de températures!😅

I found another cozy-ish fantasy book for you: Assistant to the Villain. Honestly, it’s probably more of a cozy romantacy, which romance isn’t your thing, but it isn’t “spicy” and the humor is very cheeky and self aware. I found it a lot of fun. The premise is a nice young girl needs a job to support her family and her only option is to get a job as an assistant to the Villain, a man intent on destroying the kingdom and takes pleasure from murder and torture. What’s not to love?

Ouiii les Miracles du Bazar Namiya je te le recommande à 100%, c'est mon coup de cœur de l'année dernière, c'est pas vraiment un roman policier mais tu reconnais bien que l'auteur en a déjà écrit, c'est super bien ficelé!

I’m reading Dead Silence by SA Barnes, via your recommendation. Eek! It’s so creepy!! I want to finally read Babel and Can’t Spell Treason without Tea.

I LOVED the Goblin Emperor. There was one title that was repeated a lot and it got on my nerves. But it was great

I loved, The One by John Marrs, The Housemaid by Freida McFadden Never Lie by Freida McFadden and I hope that you love them too. The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden was ok but not my favorite by her like the other two are.
