North America, 18th century. Amid the chaos and violence of the French and Indian War, Shay Patrick Cormac, a fearless young member of the Assassin Brotherhood, undergoes a dark transformation that will forever shape the future of the colonies. After a dangerous mission goes tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who, in response, attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and to ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history.
Introducing Assassin’s Creed Rogue, the darkest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed franchise yet. As Shay, you will experience the slow transformation from Assassin to Assassin hunter. Follow your own creed and set off on an extraordinary journey through New York City, the wild river valley, and far away to the icy cold waters of the North Atlantic in pursuit of your ultimate goal, to bring down the Assassins.
Ill always keep these line
"If everything is permitted, no one is safe"
It's meaning is much different than we read
edward kinda thought the same way before he joined the assassins
@@TheRealHp Ezio explained the line in the end of Revelations. It's not about that everything is free .

Achilles and his assassins are both naive and arrogant, Shay did not betray the Assassins but they betrayed him.
They forgot their tenets to never harm the innocent and became more like Warlords.
Well, Hope is literally the Kingpin of NY in this game.
Yeah, the templars kind of helped reform the brotherhood there. They cut the bad part off and let a better one grow in its place. 300IQ Shay, helping the assassins as a templar while staying loyal to templars.
I assassinated Smith by pressing Y while holding a battle axe, Shay slammed the Axe into Smith's head and then the cutscene played. I couldn't stop laughing
sadly he died, but he walked it off. Lol
Altair, Ezio, Edward, Bayek, Basim (before he became Loki) and probably even Connor would’ve sided with Shay. They would’ve been disgusted with the way Achilles was running the colonial brotherhood
Haytham would point out these colonial assassins are hypocrites after everything we seen in the game.
I don't think Edward would care too much
The rest would be furious with the assassins however,we already know altair doesn't take kindly to assassins gone corrupt (if him having true assassins kill off those same corrupt assassins is any indication)
Very doubtful.
Ezio broke the tenets of the Creed repeatedly based off his actions in Revelations
@@luissalcedo6493 so did Altair
Rogue had to have one of the best endings in the series
Really wish we'd get more games from a templar POV
The colonial assassins broke the tenets of the creed.....disgraceful
This reads like a Donald Trump tweet lol.
@@greenleader3520 Make The Assassins Great Again!
@@greenleader3520Achilles Davenport's Brotherhood looked disgusting--breaking tenets of the creed--in the 13 colonies before Connor's arrival. Very very disgraceful.
@@mariocollisionmaker sad! Many such cases!
I pity shay the assasins wanted to protect the people and yet they taking relics from the sites that triggered earthquakes and they were were aware of this because the similar thing happened from the start
Not even close. The assassins wanted to go after these precursor sites no matter what happened and Shay tried to tell them but they wouldn’t listen so yeah fuck the assassins in this game
Ubisoft has stopped being innovative after this game.
So Unity is concerned then.
Unpopular opinion: Rogue is not that bad, the story itself gives us a different perspective.
I have heard many people say that assassins are shown as fools in this game. If you think it the other way, templars are shown as fools so that playing as an assassin makes sense. That's what have happened here. I believe that Ubisoft have written the story well. Only thing is the game was too short, nothing else to complain
They honored washingtons request leaving George put of the issues of the templars and then years later decided to kill him 😂
My honest opinion: This is where the game should've ended.
Where exactly

True... It gave all the connections required in the storyline. But the Desmond story in present time was never completed. Need to know what happened after him and subject 17😭
Man they had to do Adewale dirty like this
The whole reason shay left the assassins was because he thought they were power-hungry and killing innocents as a result but when he's in France he has fully adopted the templar mindset of sacrificing hundreds or thousands in their own revolutionin chaos just to have them crave order that the templars can give.
At first he was a good man but now he truly is lost. Also a great deal of this could've been resolved if shay hadn't flown off the handle and blamed achileas for what happened when he didn't know he even tried to understand what had happened at first but shay was too enraged to think calmly and help achilease realise the truth.
Yes i know the controversy of him getting the report about the previous mission but that one incident couldve been considered a coincidence since no one survived to tell about it. And i do think achileas let the gangs get out of control but the assasins were still fighting for the right things
Conor would’ve wrecked Shay
Easily.
In my head cannon, Connor eventually caught up to Shay and killed him.
Haytham Kenway was so brutal glad he was ended by his son.
Can you please shut up
No
This game has lead to assassin’s creed 3.
And Unity
@@Blackveilzero
Of course
Still wish there'd been a game where the Assassins hunted down Shay for his treachery...
Agreed
Bad writting
I think best option is Connor Kenway should confront Shay and both would sit down and talk over the hatred between Assasins and Templars
Does anyone know what OST is playing during the death scenes?
Ac rouge Unreleased soundtrack "Memory corridor"
Is the George at the beginning really supposed to be George Washington?
Unlikely seeing as Connor worked for Washington in ac3
Well in the beginning of the clip, his sick brother said to leave his brother out of the Templar"s business since he knew nothing about their plans. So he could still be the same George Washington and just didn't know anything about Assassin's and Templars until Connor came along.

If Shay weren't the main character, Hope would have killed him or brought him to Achilles.

What's so funny?
This is where It went to shit because you were never a Templar . And it's in the name of the game is what you are supposed to be
Sure, but you are literally inducted into the “Temporal” Order and yeah you are using Assassin methods to fight the Assassins, but I mean that doesn’t invalid you being a “Temporal”…
@LuisDavila-ol7rr I'm not saying it's a completely shity game I'm just saying I don't like the fact you play as a goddamn Temple
That's just saying haytham isn't a Templar because he has a hidden blade he just finds it convenient
@@Kenzar23 You know, he was assassin for a couple of missions. He didn't just come across them blades. They were given to him by The assassin called Achilles.
@@faroneasterday No Haytham was a Templar from early childhood because Edward was killed and Birch took him and his sister in.
Lawrence Washington is probably the most tragic of Templars. I mean he literally suffers from tuberculosis and later asks to his colleagues that his half-brother George Washington shouldn’t be involved in any Templars’ business. Sadly, in AC3 George became a primary target of the Templars.
yeah its nice how Rogue shows a humanity in the some of the templars
You’re a good man, Lawrence Washington…
@@AstreiousI mean aside from all the slaves he owned.
@@MasterTemplar781 Even better
All of Assassin's Creed 3 happened just because shay was here 18:15 to stop Haytham. They connected the story well
That also explain why Achilles limp in AC3.
@@Cafearmuire Exactly 💯
@@Cafearmuireso achilles didnt' want to train connor at first because of the events rogue ?
@@TheDemonicAngel.Exactly, Achilles was traumatized as the lone survivor. Connor had to convince him they could win and reinvigorate his willpower.
In my youth, I stood for the creed. With time, I understood the templars.
For me, both have a point, but are too extreme, basically both sides are jerkasses.
Killing off adewale was just a no for me.... I quit the game once that objective popped up 😢
Interesting thing is, if Shay really stuck to his guns of "protecting the innocent", he never would have joined the Templars, to whom innocent lives matter very little.
Shay was a traitor, not a rogue. He was simply following a personal vengeance towards the Colonial Assassins because of what he perceived as 'betrayal'. If he would have been more like Bellec, who wanted to bring down the French Assassins because he wanted to reform them, I would have understood. But Shay joining the Templars and remaining a Templar till his death is just pettiness, not anything noble or lofty.
Yeah i agree. And i think its a shame how Ubisoft doesn't care about depth of their games as long as it brings them money. As someone who hasn't played only ac1, odyssey and mirage but all other games i can surely say i enjoyed Rogue more then i should. I would be #1 for me if only ubisoft gave it a bit care and its own character like not doing copy of whole previous game. But it is what it is.
@@madanigapopo1591 If they made Shay a Templar from the very beginning with no Assassin past, someone who fully believed the Templar ideology of control and suppression, it would have been a better story and better exploration of the grey zone between in the conflict.
Yes we would be playing as the bad guys, but that wouldn't have been a bad thing. Haytham is a real fan favourite character, and no one complains about playing as him in the opening sequence of ACIII.
@@spitz6784 i dont believe they even care anymore. I personally prefer every story before unity than any after it. Ezio trilogy, 3 and 4 were amazing, rogue too but they just scraped it together in under a year of work to earn more money
@@madanigapopo1591 Yeah I too just chalk it down to lazy writing. Syndicate could have been way better if they put some effort behind the plotline.
They redeemed themselves on the story part with Origins, but then again shot themselves in the foot with Odyssey and Valhalla.
Idk if u even play it or not, but Templars was the one who save Shay after being shootted. And there's also a gap years before Shay joining Templars, he probabbly also think that he need a power to stop the creed from taking the artifact and destroy more island and maybe the whole world. But it maybe true that Shay also has a personal problem with the creed, Achilles especially.
Smith was telling the truth.
Shay is so badass
