I’ve been doing the 3rd trick with Devil Loc for a while, but I’ll have to try this plugin for different types of distortion
I doubt you use these with all the hardware you have but the technique is super helpful especially the different multiband compressors to control the vocal but not lose power in the low mids. thanks a lot!
Unfortunately, I left my only multiband compressor when I moved and while my plug-in use is definitely limited because of my hw, multiband is done with plugins. I guess I'll have to get a multiband back now

lol there every time i watch this channel i add a new plugin to my template even if i don't use it all the time. i've know about this trick from the early 2000's tho
Something too that’s helpful for the first trick is using waves studio rack but with third party plugins. Just so I can put it at the beginning of my chain without having to make a bunch of aux tracks
Well yeah the problem is you don't have the same control, that's why we use auxes
@@mixbustv I know, but in studio rack you can run a few parallel channels at a time and blend them together like auxes. It just collapses the process into a single plugin that I can move around the insert slots. I don’t like waves plugins but it’s just for routing and supports 3rd party plugins.

What has helped you the most with figuring out and remembering the sounds of each compressor? like when should I use a 2a instead of the 76, do I just go back and forth and its all just taste or is there like a trick to know what would be best for the situation?
Practice. Then learning what makes one compressor different from the next one. learn topolgies, components and when and why use one vs the other. Where to find all this? Right here on this channel.
Could you use fabfilter pro mp instead of that multiband compression. I mean will u get same result ?
Of course not, the entire point is to have different compressors for each band

I disregard the "unlike any * ever made" usually, but they did very well with the HG-2

I managed to look at a big photo of it and it seems like a 3 band putec like EQ... 3 bands with separate cut and boost knobs... maybe not "not like any other EQ"... Maybe the Empress beat them to the punch?

It's always highly suspect when all the plugins in a video about a broad topic are made by one company.
Also, I know it's not the point of the video, but damn, those are some of the cringiest lyrics I've heard since my 8th grade notebook.
You know what's highly suspect? Your criticism about the lyrics here's a couple of facts:
