You can be at peace knowing that if precious Neo cry’s when you guys leave the room he WILL settle down! As an infant, preschool and elementary school teacher for years so many little ones go through the “separation anxiety” phase but try to go ahead and leave the room as long as he’s in good hands, little by little and you’d be surprised at how he will settle down pretty quickly. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have a 6-sided dog pen round my tree, to stop my rabbit getting to it. Also works on dogs, cats and children 🤣
I know its not as easy with your busy schedules, but I would highly recommend doing your grocery shop at your local market, prices may be a bit more on some things but it would be plastic free, fresher and of course supporting the local businesses :)
When I was young our christmas tree was very colourful and full of mayhem with all our handmade decor, tinsel and crazy decorations. As we got older my mum stopped with the tinsel and started trying to keep a colour theme. I never did christmas as an adult but now as a mum of three its full mayhem maddness in our house.
my daughter and I went to Rochester today to the Christmas Market and I was in the middle of explaining to her about your vlog on the Christmas Market, she then says she watched it too! For me personally, Raya's decoration style wins. 🌲I prefer Christmas trees that are decorated completely without plastic and with natural materials (such as tin, wood or straw). I love the simple colors of your tree in the living room because it doesn't create overstimulation and creates a relaxed atmosphere. But the office still looks really great! I’m so glad that you are showing the reality of having a little baby. You’re definitely reassuring young parents who decide to put the family’s rest first! It’s been a while since mine were small, but I remember basically deciding I wasn’t gonna leave the house for the first month or two! And after that, it was baby steps… It’s very wise to take it easy when your schedule has been thrown off a little bit… And still, every outing, big or small, is an adventure ❤ In the long term, you’ll be able to do more fun things, because you’re well rested! Also, padded flooring all the way! I love it! My kids loved that too, when they were little… You are one of my RUclips videos I watch every day at lunchtime right now! I have white lights in my current home, but I think I'm team Louie for the house you have and I don't limit my tree ornaments to a couple of colors. (Neither will you in a few years when Neo starts making ornaments!) But Raya's tree is absolutely gorgeous too and I'm glad you're going to have two. I'd like an advent calendar with tiny ornaments for a table-top tree.

The editing for this vlog was so nice especially the timelapses! For me christmas is all about the colorful lights but I looove the classic look too!
Although I love both tree styles, I'm with team Louis, as I also grew up in the UK with retro tree decorations and colourful lights! A tradition that I've carried on through my adult life, with tree decorations my own family have collected over the years! ✨🎄✨
Love both your decorations!!! Louis, the reason the tree is dropping needles may be because it's too dry..not becauseit was 'cheap'.. I loved both trees. I love traditional but adore coloured sparkly lights. I do an accent calender for my grandchildren which has turned into a tradition. They send back their calender which is small Santa boots big enough to place little surprises in. I collect little items during the year and top up with chocs. They love it.

I highly recommend using both warm white lights and colorful vintage-y lights. That's what I've been doing the past few years and you get the best of both worlds, the warm ethereal glow and the whimsical nostalgia. You can also use ornaments with clear colored glass to get a similar effect. White lights go on first.

I have to come down in the middle cuz I grew up with all blue lights. What is it so true how important it is to the feel of Christmas. We have such limited space that I decorate the rubber tree. Love your vlogmas!

I am American and I grew up with classic white lights on the tree with lots of ornaments, and some loose strands of tinsel draped on branches. I also love the window candle lights with white bulbs.

I grew up with color lights and continued that with my children. When they moved out, I tried the white lights with gold and red ornaments and just loved it. Good to switch it up. A suggestion for next years advent calendar, I have a large felt one with 24 pockets and you can fill it with little surprises. My kids liked different candy or a pass on doing different chores, etc. Be creative and have fun. Love this series.

Separation anxiety is traumatizing more for the parents. Trying separating for a few minutes at a time then increase. It’s more traumatizing the older they are when are not used to separating. You never know when an emergency will come up and you have to leave your baby with someone.
My friend found a card making craft advent calendar! It’s perfect for me because it’s a new supply for each day!
Love both your trees. I have warm white lights in my back garden all year round but at Christmas, I have classic multicoloured lights in the front garden too. Fairy lights lift my mood especially in the winter and make me smile 🥰❤️🏴

We do 2 trees as well: colourful with sentimental ornaments from childhood and travels and another pretty tree with white lights and themed ornaments. It makes us all happy!
The lights on my tree go from warm white to colorful, but I’d go colorful if I had to pick one. The more hodge-podge and the more memories, the better! Love Louis’ little tree
Enjoyed this video i love the relaxed real life vlogs. Every year I get out our refillable advent cushion with 24 pockets and fill it for my daughter with whatever she's into, this yr its different disney lego people and a chocolate coin. She loves looking to see what she gets each morning.

A healthy mix of the two! Colour or white lights, no tinsel on the tree, but more baubles which can be colour coordinated.
I grew up with the colourful lights, ornaments and tinsel in Australia so I do love Louis tree but as I have gotten older I do prefer the cool white lights as well so I also love Raya’s tree. This year I decided to do just lights on my tree with no ornaments so I have cool white and also flashing green and red ones and I love it. Neo may be teething. He’s putting everything in his mouth, he’s on/off fussy, he’s drooling allot. Teething is a painful process for babies!👶

We are a house devided on the lights too. Hubby likes colored and I prefer white. Main tree is white and then there is a second tree in the hall with colored. 😊🎄
I'm a child of the 60's and 70's. I like the multi-colored lights and all the different baubles. I can still admire the 'fancy' white lights and monochromatic colored baubles.
My husband and I had the same issue, I prefer white lights and he prefers colored, so we compromise and alternate the tree each year. And we have a couple small artificial trees as well for a nook and a table in the house so whoever doesn't get their preference on the main tree that year, gets to decorate the small ones as they see fit!
Team Louis- I loved multi colored lights for the tree. Both of your trees are so beautiful. As for the advent calendar, I like the mystery of different candy or little toy. This year and doing an advent calendar with my cat and it’s all cat toys. In the past, my favorite advent calendar was one with the fact of the day.

Growing up we never had a Christmas tree bc we would always travel to Mexico to celebrate over there instead but the outside was always decorated with colorful lights so I love decorating the outside with chunky colorful bulbs. My Christmas tree tho as an adult gets white lights bc I do a nightmare before Christmas theme

We had colored lights on our tree when I was a kid. Now we have lights that I can set between white, color, or they fade from white to color. Depending on my mood determines which setting I choose. Loving your vlogmas segments.
Team Raya for white lights on Christmas Tree. Team Louis for variety of colors for ornaments. I have created a village of 4 trees; one for religious ornaments; one for ornaments from my travels, one gold ornaments and the biggest tree a mish-mash of handmade ornaments. I love this Vlog.

It's colorful lights for me. I grew up with tinsel garlands but I dont remember it having a smell. Colorful lights and colorful ornaments make me happy and cozy.

A quick fix for the tree would be to turn the play shelves so it forms a little cubby area and blocks him from the tree at the same time. You can put the side of the shelves against the wall and the back facing the tree. lay the play rug between the couch arm and the front of the shelves.Easy fix .

I have a tree (warm white with traditional colors) and my children have their own tree (colored lights and all of the ornaments they can make in their play room)-(my husband just wants everyone to be happy). It’s a win-win situation just like yours.

I love them both! I grew up with the colorful lights, so when I got my first place, I did all white lights with crocheted snowflakes that I made. I honestly love both. As long as they aren't blinking. Lol, that is a whole other debate.
Inspired by how intentional you're being with your Christmas plans this Vlogmas I made myself an advent calendar of activities. There's some journal prompts, Christmas activities, and a few treats like face masks. I have a wooden advent calendar from when I was a kid that I usually fill up with my collection of Christmas earrings but this year I did something extra. Next year I want a tea advent calendar. 🎄

I think it’s fun and fair to have both a colorful, homey handmade tree and a classic white lights tree. You get the best of both worlds that way.

It's about combining traditions, having different decorations that fit everyone at home. Now your children will grow with a mix of traditions. Bulgarian, American, British, Brighton and Costa Rican... this is a mix that will one day be the memory on which they base their own new traditions. Neo traditions, if you will😊
Laffy Taffy would be my choice :) when I was young, my aunt would send 'Laffy Taffy' for my brother and I to count down to christmas, all sorts of different flavors. They were tied on to a Christmas shaped piece of cloth and we would untie one and eat it each day. I loved it so much!
9:26 make sure that if you need at some point to get more mats, that they are the same make, we had two ... they look the same, but they are just, ever so slightly different.... and don't interlock 😂😂
Advent calendars were not a thing in my family, my mother was British but never had them. (she thought they were American - we are Canadian) My children did not either. Then one year one now grown daughter said she wanted a cheese advent calendar. So much more fun! It was fun sharing each piece of cheese.

I grew up with colourful lights and colourful paper things hanging from the ceiling. As an adult, I prefer a colour scheme. Our main tree is mostly silver and white, and we personally don't like.multi coloured flashing outdoor lights, we prefer all the same colours.
Colors all the way. White lights are great for string lights in a backyard in the summertime, but they just aren’t very Christmasy.
