I have used a menstral cup exclusively for like 8 years now and i (obviously) love it! What is important is that there are different types. Often the sizes are 'has given birth' vs 'has not given birth', but it is a little more complicated than that as all bodies are unique. As you said you are feeling it during sleep and exercise, you might need a softer/more flexible cup (which probably means a different brand). Once it is the correct cup, you will not feel it at all!

Totally agree. I’ve never felt mine and it’s so easy to use. You can just dump it in a stall and reinsert without rinsing in an emergency. They also make cup wipes that you can use. I wish I had found them years earlier. I have used one for probably 8 years and love it! Once you get used to it you’ll never go back, I predict. You just need to find the one that works for you. Good luck.

Hey Sierra, I've been a silent watcher since before your wedding, I really don't comment often but the menstrual cup just changed my life so I have to comment. There is truly a learning curve, I have been using mine for 7 years now. It took me three or four cycles to be absolutely comfortable with changing it and trusting it. Also, there are different sizes, stem lengths and rigidities, my first one was too stiff and was soooo uncomfy but the one I have now is just perfect, I can swim, run, live, without thinking about it! So yeah, long story long, but the menstrual cup is so worth it for me! Thank you for being you and giving me a beatiful example of motherhood❤

I use mine with cloth pads as liners in case of any leaks, though thankfully that rarely happens. Now that you have it, you can add it to your rotation of products for different situations, maybe save it for lighter days when you know you can leave it in all day, without risking having to empty it in a public bathroom 😅

Menstral cups are AMAZING. I've been using one for a decade and for one, when I think of the money I've saved... LOVE IT. For two, it is more convenient to me because I literally change it at night, then in the morning and boom, that's it. It is awkward in public, you just kind of dump it in the toilet and don't do your normal rinse situation, BUT the amount of times I've had to do that in 10 years is less than I can count on one hand. Same with spills, I've literally never spilled it, not once in 10 years. So I get your fear, but the chances of spilling it is lower than you think.
It's just a learning curve getting it in and out. And I run with it in (just was on my period last week and completed a 4 mile run and everything with it in), so I'd say, if you're feeling it's uncomfortable, it could be 1 of two things. 1. You just don't have the right cup for your body and you might need to try out a few. I'm still rocking the OG diva cup but they have a variety of different options now. 2. You might not have it in far enough. With a tampon, you only have to put it in like right at the entrance (if you know what I mean), but then you hit the applicator and that is what pushes it all the way up where it needs to be. HOWEVER, with a cup, you gotta do the pushing it in and it goes in further than you'd think haha. So if you're feeling it, you probably don't have it all the way up at your cervix.

Okay so I am a menstrual cup user and lover!! I transitioned a few years ago and I will say, the first few periods with it were a struggle, almost like it was taking time for my body to adjust and for me to learn. I also learn not all cups are created equal so you may have to try a different brand or two out before finding the one that you love! Once you get adjusted, they can be so comfortable and leak proof. I think it just takes time to figure it all out (and you will have a day were it "disappears" and you will panic and it will be okay and you will find it). It can be hard to adjust to one especially when being uncomfortable everywhere else on your period. I do get they are not for everyone but if you keep up with it, it can be so good!

I used a menstrual cup for over 10 years. I love it so much and have had other converts. 1. Once you get used to changing it in public, it is no big deal. I actually loved that once it was in, I was always prepared. No worrying about taking supplies. I had it. 2. Changing it and putting it in gets easier. Look up different folds for inserting if that's a struggle. 3. Try different cups. There are different hardness/softness, widths, lengths, tab/pull situations, etc. I have a coworker who HAS to cut the tab, but it didn't bug me. The Diva Cup was uncomfortable for me. Lunette was my favorite that I tried and softer than the Diva Cup.

I use a menstrual cup(and also have an iud) WITH period underwear!! This is the ultimate combo. I also plan out that I don’t have to empty my cup until I’m at home because yeah I would NEVER empty it anywhere I don’t have immediate access to a sink. As an autistic adhd girly, I get a RUclips video ready before I start the process of emptying because while I don’t love the sensory experience, I value sustainability and my peace of mind of not leaking while out more. Tampons always leaked out for me and I always had to wear a pantiliner with them but now I just wear period underwear with my cup in case I do leak out some before I’m able to empty. If it was uncomfortable while working out you may have too big of a size for yourself!! It’s hard to find the right cup firmness and size for you. I personally use the Saalt cups small and medium!

The cup definitely has a learning curve and if you don’t insert it right it could literally just pop and leak out. Also if you have a heavy flow you’ll have to change it more often otherwise it definitely will pop and leak. The suction also feels weird but you get use to it. I’d say the easiest place to insert it is in the shower. But if you do need to dump it somewhere just have a sink nearby is all I’ll say!😅 I feel like my favorite time to use it is at night.

I use flex cup- they sell it at target. It’s very beginner friendly since you pull on a string, similar to a tampon. It’s less invasive so it’s great for beginners!

Keep using the cup! I’ve used mine for like 6 years and that first month was trial and error and so many people give up after the first period using it but once you find your groove it’s a game changer! I will ALWAYS advocate for cup use. Feels cleaner and more comfortable. You get the longevity, it’s sustainable and so so so much cheaper over the course of the life of it!
I use the Saalt cup. Ethical and sustainable business too!

Idk what brand you tried for the menstrual cup but bloody buddy is amazing. They have a quiz for you to take to figure out the best size for you, which can make a huge difference in comfort, etc.
Also girl that black dress 🔥🔥🔥🔥 highlights every gorgeous feature of your body ❤️

I've been using a menstrual cup for over 5 years and I will always rave about it 🙈 You may also need to try different ones - size, firmness, etc all matter for comfort! I will say I don't even feel it when I wear it, but I could say the same for tampons and I know thats not the case for everyone. I've saved so much money over the years not buying tampons and its less waste!

Thoughts on period cup. I have been using one for 15 years. My thoughts. The convenience of not carrying anything around has been such a win. Back when I started using it, girls didn’t wear or carry purses at school. So there was no struggle to try and hid sanitary products in your hand from your locker. Now that I have had children, I needed to get a different size and I find on my first day I cannot wear it as it makes me cramp or makes my cramps worse. I find it so helpful when vacationing, especially camping. I bring wipes in public stalls to cleanse the cup or while camping. I do prefer not wearing it at night and I actually just free bleed on a towel between my legs. I don’t find pads comfortable at all or size inclusive for my body and experience after having children. Overall I like the menstrual cup since I have been using it for so long. I’m curious about period underwear as this also was not “a thing” when I started menstruating 20 years ago.

For the menstrual cup: give it time! Try it out 2-3 cycles before you give it up because it gets easier and you get used to it.
Also tip for changing it: I personally prefer showering whenever I change it and change it by squatting. Some people I know do a one leg up situation. It feels like a lot to shower morning & night, but its easier clean up for sure and allows you to try different positions to find what’s best for you 😊

There’s definitely a learning curve for menstrual cups, and they’re not all the same! I used to use the Diva cup, but found I liked the Saalt cup a lot better. My doctor also recommended using a menstrual disk rather than cup with an IUD due to the small risk of displacing it with the vacuum, but I haven’t tried one yet! You might also find that your period gets lighter/disappears with the IUD, mine did with my first and then it wasn’t a concern anymore 😅

I exclusively use a menstrual cup and I absolutely love it! I’ve been using one for a couple years now. If you’re feeling it during exercise or sleep it may be incorrectly placed or you might need a smaller size. As some of the other comments have mentioned, be careful using it with your IUD. It’s recommended to make sure you break the seal so it doesn’t cause a lot of suction and displace the IUD. I’m sure you’ve already done the research and consulted your doctor tho lol 💗💗

I am the biggest seller on menstrual products. If you don’t like the cup I suggest trying the disc. It’s easier to put in and take out with all the same exact benefits as a cup. It should also feel like a tampon meaning if you feel it you probably put it in incorrectly. Keep giving it a chance! A cup or disc is def. the way to go!

I love my menstrual cup. And I used it with an iud for 3 years with no issues. I just take it out when I shower to avoid a mess. (I shower morning and night when I’m on my period.)
