Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. We started out with Somnium, an O'day 272, moved onto Freebie, an Endeavour 32, and now are focusing on sailboat tours and working full time as teachers while we save up for our next boat.

I have seen all the xquisite videos on RUclips, I was amazaed you captured some points that were new to me. Ypur review was good not technical but more general. Good for newbies to those who are beginners to catamaran world. Each channel caters to a certain segment and that works, and some avid viewers still learn .

The escape hatch in the salon has mostly pros and one con that I can see. If the boat is upside down, there are no opening ports in the sides of the hulls (remember your mention about side ventilation) that would let air out or water in if they were open during the capsize. So as long as the hatches were closed, the boat should float very well (up high) for a long time. Opening escape hatches in the side of each hull could cause the upended boat to take on water. The bridge deck is quite high so the escape hatch in the salon sole might be above the water line. However, the inverted the cabin roof would definitely be underwater because I doubt the sliding glass doors are waterproof even assuming they were closed, locked and didn't break. So, you would have to climb down the stars from the hulls, stand in the water filled salon, open the hatch and climb up on the cabinets to be able to get out of the emergency hatch (lots of head room in the salon). Hope you are in good shape and thin, because that hatch didn't look very wide. I am thinking you couldn't stay in the hulls very long either, because the crew would breathe up all the usable air after awhile. Overall though, probably a good reason to have the escape hatch in the salon sole.

Thanks for the review. Great to see you guys having fun!
Just a note that 'Cruising off duty' went with the boat on a South Africa to the Caribean cruise, and video documented it, and the owner of the boatyard did a full hour long walk through of the design.
    Just google for them.
Great boat with unparalleled attention to detail, and unrivalled after sales service.
It should also be noted that the nominal weight when all the extras are taken into account is not that different to competitors in the luxury cruiser market, and the latest iteration takes 4 tons off the weight anyway.
My view is that they just need hatches in the forward windows and straight rather than curved couches in the cockpit as they are easier to prop up against as the folks at 'Ruby Rose' always mention and it would be pretty well perfect.

I really like the outer lines of this boat. Would be a contender for me if I could get around the beds. Some things I’m not a fan of but hard to find the perfect boat. The veneer and the window shades for example. Hopefully those are customizable options. I’m not going to get into every detail, I just hope I see more options in this line in the future!

Pitifully small trampolines. I burried the bows of my 44' St Francis once, and was very glad to have a very generous trampoline. The water just poured through the tramp rather than forcing the bows deeper under water. Yes, I should not have been out in those seas. Concealed lines are nice until you have to clear one that is jammed. Lots of storage is nice, but you will fill it and the weight is bad for a catamaran. Would like to hear about bridge deck clearance and anchor tackle.

You guys are great. I'm at an age now that I can only dream of sailing again. I do so wish I had done it when I was young. Your boat tours should make it much easier for newbies to make the right choice for them. I also learned the difference between a "salon and a saloon." I thought you were using the wrong word but according to the following, you are correct for sailors: What is a salon on a yacht?
Therefore, they refer to their cabin as a salon, a fancy French term for a reception hall, or a room filled with perfumed finery. Hairdressers, beauticians, and couturiers have salons; sailors have a saloon.

For instance the generous, forward facingNav station, with port ight and window treatments... it must be fantastically expensive. I wish it was a hybrid it has the room for PV and wind arrays.
