Two things I would be interested in is how to remove the back wheel (for mending punctures , tyre replacement ) and the key lock , does it turn power on and off or only lock the battery in place
Hi, nice video review.. Have you managed to unlock the speed limit on the bike yet ? Also I would have loved you to show the Battery in more detail/ size/ Wight/ diameter, the charging port, the locking mechanism. I noticed a Extra bolt at the back Of the battery but it’s not clear as you had the battery on the grass faced sideways. Please can you make another short video showing these details, and show how to unlock the bike or kill the sound alert if you have done this already. The bike is at a decent price now for the 20ah battery.. I’m thinking about getting it but just need to know a little more detail. Thanks
The battery has ~ 7kg, has a key lock and a proprietary 2 prong connector. The sound alert can be killed quickly be removing it as it has a single plug. What is interesting is the fact that that sound alert can be probably be also be programmed as an alarm but there is no such instructions...and no I haven't managed to unlock it yet.
TechTronic9000 ok 2 prong connector, that’s a shame, as I wonted to use the battery/ Battery case on my samebike that has a 3 prong connector from the controller to the battery,. I would have still liked to just see it on video a little closer , also to see what the charging port looked like. Have you tried unlocking the speed limit on this bike yet?. It’s a simple process.. my samebike is very similar to this bikes design, to unlock it is the same process. I’m getting 37km ph when the bike is unlocked. If you did this, maybe it would kill the alarm anyway without having to disconnect wires it would be interesting to find out.
Pope Anthony how did I do what?. I have 2 samebike’s.. I have model: XW-20LY. 10.4ah And I have samebike XMZ1214 13s 15ah. My samebike XMZ1214 is very similar to this Fiido bike. My samebike similar to this, to unlock this bike and many Chinese bikes,. make sure he battery is fully charged, hold onto the left brake and squeeze the throttle for about 5sec, Release the throttle and the brake, turn the bike off than turn the bike on.. this should unlock the bike and most fiido bikes. With my other model. I went into the p settings and changed to p100, than than followed the same process of holding left brake and throttle for 5sec turning off and on the bike. With my second model both methods worked.. I hope this helps. There is video on iTunes demonstrating this.
I think that the L2 is not made anymore, you might find it on some seller but it's probably old stock. If you want something small and with full suspension then the Q1S might worth a look bit.ly/3wQR59C . I have also a review with that and I'm also currently modifying it for some real speed and range.
Hi Mr TechTronic9000. Loved your review and went and bought an L2 because of it. Can you provide any more detail about the controller - what does gear assist low / medium / high actually mean? The instructions booklet doesn't really provide much detail about the controller. Many thanks.
Hi, Thanks for the nice review! I have two questions Which do you recommend L1 or L2? -Is the back suspension really worth it (considering that it add weight)? The rear seat is mostly useless so I expect the rear rack is more useful. Is it possible to use the rear seat as a real seat when the bike is not moving? Is L1 or L2 worth the extra money in comparison with D2S ? Personally I think the fornt suspension is more important than the rear one.
The L1 and D2 have a weaker 250W motor, while the L2 has 350W so it has more torque. Each of the models have their own advantages. The D2 is great around the city as it's light, the D2S is good in areas with bigger slopes, the L1 is good for long range in flat areas, while the L2 is a good all-rounder for worse roads and hills, etc. I would personally love a D2s with front suspension also, but there isn't one existing yet.
"The rear seat is mostly useless so I expect the rear rack is more useful. Is it possible to use the rear seat as a real seat when the bike is not moving?" I also would like to know how much kg the rear seat can handle.
@@TechTronic9000 my brother i am really having a challenge which to choose. Is the d2s motor better than the d2? If you were to choose between the d2,d2s and L2, which one are u keeping?
D2 and D2s have the same motor, the S has a different and slightly better controller as it has 3 assist levels. If you have short trips get the D2, if you need more range or live in an area with lot's of hills and inclines get the L2 as it has a lot more power going uphill.
Nice, I have taken my d3s off road in similar circumstances, it's a bone shaker but copes well. I'm wanting an l2 for the suspension and bigger battery.
Only if you pedal fast and take turns or go over very bumpy stuff. I'm planning of making this taller by replacing the rear suspension with longer ones so that the rear suspension arm will have a ~90° angle.
That is because I buy my stuff with my own money and review it as I like it. I'm not waiting for getting this free from someone and then just praise it and ask everyone to buy it! Thanks for watching my video, you made my day worthwhile with your comment!
Hi there Do you think the L2 is better than the 2DS ? I think you have tried both of them , which one do you personally prefer most? Thank you in advance
Depends on your needs, for short trips the D2 is better as it is lighter, for longer range, hills, etc the L2 is better. You can also join here for more info: facebook.com/groups/FiidoElectricBike/
This looks like a great bike to take on a boat because it is small....what is the total weight with and without the battery ? thanks for a great video !!!
I have now purchased 2 of these bikes and they are great....would like to see a little more speed out of it....hope there is an easy way to throttle it up a bit !!! :-)
FANTASTIC review. Thank you ever so much. :-) You told how a beeper warns pedestrians if the bike is running faster than 15 km/h. Have you found out how to disable it and if so, how to do it, please? :-)
@@TechTronic9000 Thank you VERY much! :-) Could you still be patient enough to tell WHERE this plug is to be found? While driving fast and hearing the beeping, it might not be easy to locate it. ;-) THANK YOU! :-)
@@TechTronic9000 How easy, or difficult, is it to change the controller? You need to disassemble and study the existing electronics and then search for possible compatible controllers, etc? I cannot imagine...
I think it might have cruise control. It said it did on the website uk.banggood.com/Fiido-L2-Flagship-Version-48V-350W-20Ah-Folding-Electric-Moped-Bike-14-inch-25km-or-h-Top-Speed-3-Gear-Power-Boost-Electric-Bicycle-Electric-Bike-p-1573115.html?ID=41195&cur_warehouse=CN I have seen it mentioned on other Fiido bikes too, and my L2 seemed to 'lock' into a cruise control mode today. However, the documentation is poor in describing the actual features.
Thank you for appreciating my video review! For Ireland i think it's best to get it form here: bit.ly/36SJDNn It will take ~2 months but it's 100% tax free with @home delivery.
Paul thanks for another fantastic Fiido review. Can you share how long it takes to charge the battery? Would really be interested in a real life range test too. I have the Fiido D2 which I love but the range does not suit my requirements.
The most i did until now it was 25km and the battery gauge was still showing 5/5 led (full) so the range is impressive. Charging is slow as it has a 2A charger so from an empty battery to full will need at least 10 hours.
This review was what helped me to decide to buy one in April so thank you. Do you know where I can find a replacement kickstand that is compatible as mine came off and was lost during a ride? I'm in the UK.
I bought one. What do you think about the front suspension? I find that it has none. It's just a suspension fork with nothing in it. just two holes with plastic caps on it.
@@TechTronic9000 yes it's genuine. i bought it from amazon. maybe you could make a video about the suspension. if possible, no pressure. thank you for replying btw.
I recently purchased fiido D2s..I would like to know which driving mode is apropriate for saving more energy?? If I use assisted mode continuous pedaling does damage the motor???
I use mine mostly with the electrical acceleration and when starting off of under heavy acceleration I help by using the pedals. The more you pedal the less use of battery and motor it makes.
Yes you can use it in the rain, although like on any other electric bike you should do a lot of maintenance such as regular cleaning, greasing, plug checking, etc.
Can you control the speed of the electric motor? The legal speed limit is 25Km/hour, and I'd like to essentially use this without being caught out. I just want a higher range... Also, can you get replacement battery packs easily?
The bike is locked at exactly max 25km/h, you also have 3 assist modes that will limit the speed and also you can use the twist throttle to go as slow as you want.
@@TechTronic9000 Thanks! I've since decided on a different bike given I'd need to commute long distances to work But I might look into buying this or the d2s just to take into the city centre
Great video! Do you have further considerations about this bike since the video was published 2 months ago? Maybe you can tell us if you found other cons or pros. And another question for you, do you think that the fiido L2 is the best fiido bike or is there something better out there? Thank you for your time and if you want to say anything else feel free to share your thoughts.
I still enjoy it very much and also started to mod and upgrade it, fitted it with semi-hydraulic hybrid brakes, removed the annoying alarm and now working on making it faster (hopefully a lot more faster). Thus more videos with it and about it will come to my channel.
Thank you for another great video! Nice drone work! I have a small pronunciation note for you. "Battery guage" would be pronounced "gage" to rhyme with "cage." Anyway, keep up the great videos.
Do I recharge the battery every day or only when is nearly empty? And if the battery gets broken whit the tieme ... can I replace it and where do i buy it? Is there any electronic work needed or just put in instead of the original one. Thanks so much!
It is better to charge as often as possible, this prolongs the life. Also whe not using for 1-2 weeks or more it's better to store at ~ 60% The battery can be easy replaced, the internal is still a normal 18650 battery.
@@TechTronic9000 ok . Thanks for the information. Can't wait to get my bike. As I am handycaped will change the brakes as I learned from your other video. Do I have to buy the fender extra or is it included? Thanks!!!
Today I've recieved my L2 . I bought it in Banggood spend about 40 days. With this code BGFDL2CN the final price is aproximatly 600 euros , I didn't pay taxes in Spain. Send it by UPS. Thanks Banggood!!!
If you had faster gearing you could peddle it beyond the limiter. That would increase your range tremendously. You don't really need the low gears for slow traveling because the motor will help you get started while using the throttle.
I'm watching this because I am planning to buy one in the UK. My wife is romanian and she loves the L2 just because of watching your video, she doesn't even know how to ride a bike 😂
That's awesome! Probably your wife also seen that this was filmed in rural parts of Romania :) For UK i recommend you getting it from here, they have tax free shipping for UK bit.ly/FiidoBikeL2
I don't know about the original pads as i have upgraded the brakes to much more better ones that are also cheap ruclips.net/video/Q1hib1UF5T8/видео.html
Bro you did two videos on this bike is there a reason y u did? Are they two different bikes that look similar? I want to purchase this one but I keep hearing you call the bike in your other video the d2 but in the title of both videos you call both bikes L2 so I'm confused
Great review, I just bought the bike. Thanks. The aerial footage was spectacular, your country is beautiful. What drone did you use? the footage was very stable.
Thank you for your appreciation! The drone was a Parrot ANAFI, the footage could have been even better but i was in a hurry so used "auto" camera settings. Going full manual yields much more better image quality.
Do you think this bike is still available for sale? Banggood seems to be the only site that still sells it, but they post "No shipping method is available for this product to your location" (Romania). Other than that, it is discontinued or out of stock on Geekbuying, Gearbest, Amazon, ... Even on the Fiido official site this bike is no longer listed. What do you think about the HIMO Z14 as an alternative? The Himo has 15 Ah instead of 20 Ah, seems to have no suspension and I cannot find any info about internal gears in the hub motor. It seems that Fiido have offered too much with the L2 and now they are taking a step back, promoting only short range, low powered bikes like D2.
It might be a temporary logistic problem for Romania as a friend just bought an L2 with shipping to Greece. There is also an interesting alternative a new model that seems very similar with the L2: bit.ly/3dAF4Ly
@@TechTronic9000 I have ordered and just received this week a Fiido D1 11,6 Ah and I am very dissapointed. First, the motor doesn't seem to freewheel - it is much harder to pedal compared to a normal bike. Do you think all Fiido motors are the same (geared motors)? I was also hoping pedalling to assist the motor would be a feasible way to extend the range. But the pedelec mode is crap. It only helps you up to 12-15 km/h and at higher speeds the motor not only is not helping, but is seems to act against you. It works well in throttle mode, but I expect the range to be limited, and it was precisely range I was after.
The D1 is a simple, basic model, the D2 and D2S, L2 and M1 have freewheeling geared motors. For the D1 I'm not sure. Check also the brakes and bearing. Ultimately you could upgrade the controller with a better one and get a proper pedalec sensor.
@@TechTronic9000 hi , I hope you are well. I finally got my fiddle L2 and I am very happy. Now after 2 months daylily use he is blinking all the time when I ride. Do you have a idea why? I am covid risico group member and with this I go to work. Is my battery broken? Thanks so much. Greetings from Vienna, monika
@@TheRobphobos Yes definitely. 1) Especially if you are a slow rider like me 2) If the battery juice runs out you can use the bike as an ordinary bike much easier if it has gears. 3) From a stop I push off on pedal power before the e-power kicks in a short time later. Having one gear only the gearing is too high for pushing off on pedal power in my opinion.
The battery should take easy over 500 full cycle, maybe more, that would be roughly 50.000 km. If the battery dies it can be taken apart and fixed / replace cells.
Currently for Sweden the place to get it from here: bit.ly/36SJDNn It will arrive tax free for Europe and it slightly discounted currently. Sadly there are no longer coupons for this model as the stock is running out and the producer is having a hard time repaneshing them after the corona virus crysis.
I ordered one from jannyshop in black has 35 kph top speed and lesser 12ah battery but for Uk it's fine not as good suspension but same kind of bike. I cant wait to get mine 😆🤘
definitely so. It's 22 In miles top speed. But it won't run as far as the fiido milage wise but for the UK burning around in my home town Penzance. It's gunu be great fun I can't wait I payed 579 I think with vat. From China but I think these types all are. That torque of the small wheels ensures good clime that's for sure.
For short trips around town i like the D2 as it's lighter, for longer trips i prefer the L2 because of the much more bigger range. The L2 has also more power and it's more comfortable.
The battery can be opened and it's using a regular 18650 based pack so you can find rather easy one to fit the enclosement when the original one goes bad. As a big extra you can use LG cells and rebuild it for much more capacity.
@@TechTronic9000 a seller on aliexpress is selling the same bike. they also sell the battery. it looks like one of the standard size cases so once the dimensions are known i would think finding an extra battery should be easy. thanks for your reply!

Well maybe ha can give you a link for the model that he used.
This is the finest ebike review I have ever seen. I have a Qualisports Volador, and quite enjoy it. I am so very curious about the Fiido. Thank you for the real world experiences. What beautiful lands to ride through! Blessings from Oregon!
You are right! I just bought it for $800 tax included, free shipping from New Jersey, and have been using it in Los Angeles for about 3 weeks now. It is without doubt one of the best deals for the money I have ever gotten in my life! And I think a lot of people must be catching on because I happened to have gotten the very last unit in the warehouse - it's impossible to get these in the US anymore.
Two things I would be interested in is how to remove the back wheel (for mending punctures , tyre replacement ) and the key lock , does it turn power on and off or only lock the battery in place
I had a rear puncture, it was easy to solve, you can see some pictures here: facebook.com/groups/FiidoElectricBike/permalink/2980021755353028/
It can be unlocked there's articles and videos on how to unlock that control unit
Any tips? I've tried a few things, didn't work.

Hi, nice video review..
Have you managed to unlock the speed limit on the bike yet ?
Also I would have loved you to show the Battery in more detail/ size/ Wight/ diameter, the charging port, the locking mechanism. I noticed a Extra bolt at the back
Of the battery but it’s not clear as you had the battery on the grass faced sideways.
@@intuitiveempath8988 how did you do it ? and what model of samebike
Pope Anthony how did I do what?. I have 2 samebike’s.. I have model: XW-20LY. 10.4ah And I have samebike XMZ1214 13s 15ah.
My samebike XMZ1214 is very similar to this Fiido bike.
My samebike similar to this, to unlock this bike and many Chinese bikes,. make sure he battery is fully charged, hold onto the left brake and squeeze the throttle for about 5sec,
Release the throttle and the brake, turn the bike off than turn the bike on.. this should unlock the bike and most fiido bikes.
With my other model. I went into the p settings and changed to p100, than than followed the same process of holding left brake and throttle for 5sec turning off and on the bike. With my second model both methods worked.. I hope this helps.
There is video on iTunes demonstrating this.
was going for L3 but now I think this better - what is your advice please...
Low, medium and hi is the amount of extra energy the motor puts on while you pedal.
@@TechTronic9000 thank you for replying . Your videos are a wealth of information. Much appreciated.
Hi, Thanks for the nice review! I have two questions
Which do you recommend L1 or L2?
D2S has 6-speed Shimano gears while D2 has none.
I watch you video 2x hahaha ,,and i saved it for my reference again..thank you bro,,
I just ordered my L2 for 680$ thank you sir
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!
Nice, I have taken my d3s off road in similar circumstances, it's a bone shaker but copes well.
I'm wanting an l2 for the suspension and bigger battery.
Even the D2 is better than the D3 as it has rear suspension ;)
Great review, thanks....how about the danger of having pedals touching the ground on curves?
Only if you pedal fast and take turns or go over very bumpy stuff. I'm planning of making this taller by replacing the rear suspension with longer ones so that the rear suspension arm will have a ~90° angle.
@@TechTronic9000 Smart idea

Hi there
Do you think the L2 is better than the 2DS ? I think you have tried both of them , which one do you personally prefer most?
Thank you in advance
Depends on your needs, for short trips the D2 is better as it is lighter, for longer range, hills, etc the L2 is better. You can also join here for more info: facebook.com/groups/FiidoElectricBike/
TechTronic9000
Thank you for your tips. I wish the L2 was lighter. Yes, I agree with you.
This looks like a great bike to take on a boat because it is small....what is the total weight with and without the battery ? thanks for a great video !!!
About 27kg total and the battery has about 7kg.
I have now purchased 2 of these bikes and they are great....would like to see a little more speed out of it....hope there is an easy way to throttle it up a bit !!! :-)
I will also join the FB group so I can see what is happening :-)
where can we buy replacement batteries for Fiido bikes? d2s for example or this one L2
FANTASTIC review. Thank you ever so much. :-) You told how a beeper warns pedestrians if the bike is running faster than 15 km/h. Have you found out how to disable it and if so, how to do it, please? :-)
The beeper has a plug, just remove it and it's done :)
@@TechTronic9000 Thank you VERY much! :-) Could you still be patient enough to tell WHERE this plug is to be found? While driving fast and hearing the beeping, it might not be easy to locate it. ;-) THANK YOU! :-)
Does it have a cruise control? when you can set speed and you do not need to pull the throttle?
Sadly no, but will probably replace the controller also to get rid of the speed limiter.
Is possible to known the weight of the battery only please? and the bicycle without battery ?
Thanks you very much for the review
The battery has about ~7kg and the bike total is 27kg so ~ 20kg for the bike
Nice review, please am in Ireland so how or where can I get fiido L2?
Thank you for appreciating my video review! For Ireland i think it's best to get it form here: bit.ly/36SJDNn It will take ~2 months but it's 100% tax free with @home delivery.
Thanks so much for your feedback. Once I get it I will let you know.
Should might be able to get something at local bike shops.
@@TechTronic9000 the Kick stands and foot rests they have are not compatible with the Fiido.
I bought one. What do you think about the front suspension? I find that it has none. It's just a suspension fork with nothing in it. just two holes with plastic caps on it.
Is it a genuine Fiido L2? Mine works ok, it's a simple spring loaded fork that does the job.
Would i be able to use the L3 for delivery, Uber, glovo, etc in snow in rain weather, with no problems? Or for that purposes would it better a m1 pro?
Yes you can use it in the rain, although like on any other electric bike you should do a lot of maintenance such as regular cleaning, greasing, plug checking, etc.
Hi! The speed limit of 25 kmph is also active even of you are riding with no eletric power at all or during assisted pedaling?
If you go downhill there is no limit, I did 45km/h, but under motor power you can't get faster than ~ 25km/h
I've since decided on a different bike given I'd need to commute long distances to work
But I might look into buying this or the d2s just to take into the city centre
@@waqasahmed939 Which one did you buy or are going to buy? :-)
Thank you! And yes you are right, my "gauge" should be used for wire thickness. Will try to improve that ;)
Cool review. Would be interesting to do also a long term review for the d2.
Will do it after a few months, also planning a comparison with the D2
Hope then it is easyer with sammy hydraulic for my hands...thanks for all your work!!
2 more questions: does the bike arrives like IKEA products in peaces or is it only folded?

@@alexvicenteagell3189 I've checked that code and it shows 666$ 😈
If you had faster gearing you could peddle it beyond the limiter. That would increase your range tremendously. You don't really need the low gears for slow traveling because the motor will help you get started while using the throttle.
Low gear is good for helping the motor start off, thus increasing the range a lot!
Sorry I have an another question what about the rain for the battery
The battery could be damaged because of the water?
Thanks
There is no indication of waterproof, i would "guess" it can take some light rain.

Hi.
Have anyone noticed these fiido bikes an big sale on Black Friday?
They do have some sales but not "big" black Friday. Usually it's something like 100-200$ OFF depending on the model price.
Bro you did two videos on this bike is there a reason y u did? Are they two different bikes that look similar? I want to purchase this one but I keep hearing you call the bike in your other video the d2 but in the title of both videos you call both bikes L2 so I'm confused
They are different models, Fiido D2 and this one is L2, they might look similar but are totally different.
Bro,,,how many years before you change battery?
Depends on how much you ride and how you care about the battery, considering that the bike has very long range the battery will also last a lot.
Brilliant video thx😃😎
Glad you enjoyed it

First sorry for my bad english!
How much kilo is this bike without battery ?
And from where you got it ?
It has around 20kg without the battery, you can get it from here: bit.ly/Fiido__L2 also there are other models here: bit.ly/MoreFiidoModels
That scenery though
I hope you enjoyed it.
I can't find this bike anywhere to buy?
That is because there is a newer Fiido L3 with even bigger range and it's also lighter than the L2, here is it: bit.ly/3dcDJuG

Thank you for your appreciation!
I'm looking at the D2 or D2S. Is having the gears worth it ?
@@TheRobphobos Yes definitely.
1) Especially if you are a slow rider like me
2) If the battery juice runs out you can use the bike as an ordinary bike much easier if it has gears.
3) From a stop I push off on pedal power before the e-power kicks in a short time later. Having one gear only the gearing is too high for pushing off on pedal power in my opinion.
How many charges can the battery take? And what do we do once the battery dies out (dead cells).
The battery should take easy over 500 full cycle, maybe more, that would be roughly 50.000 km. If the battery dies it can be taken apart and fixed / replace cells.
How far does it go on a full battery charge in full electric mode?
You can easy do 60+km.
How many kilometers before it drains the battery?
With the L2 you can get easy 60+km, if you don't ride it very fast, use some assisted mode then you can do 80+km.
I recive the bike today, there is a combination for remove the speed limit ?
I haven't managed yet to remove the limit.
push brake and start button together during 5 seconds. I think :). Or did you have discover it??

definitely so.
Tech it's me again I still have the same question for you which one of these do you think is better fiido L2 os fiido D2?
For short trips around town i like the D2 as it's lighter, for longer trips i prefer the L2 because of the much more bigger range. The L2 has also more power and it's more comfortable.
L2 would be better because you can remove the battery pack for recharging if you live upstairs.
What is the range on the battery? Over 40 miles on pedal assist?
It will easy to 60km (40 miles) on full electric, with assist will do even more!
another great video! do you know if spare batteries are available and where?
The battery can be opened and it's using a regular 18650 based pack so you can find rather easy one to fit the enclosement when the original one goes bad. As a big extra you can use LG cells and rebuild it for much more capacity.
@@TechTronic9000 a seller on aliexpress is selling the same bike. they also sell the battery. it looks like one of the standard size cases so once the dimensions are known i would think finding an extra battery should be easy. thanks for your reply!
I believe L3 can be speed derestricted? But not L2?
I've seen some info about L3 being unlockable but I'm not sure mostly because there were a lot of fake speed unlocking videos floating around for D1/D2 etc done only for views and going downhill with the bike.
