A little tip I learned from peppo while fighting this thing is that while he does the ice aoe thing while he's flying in the air, you should helm splitter as alatreon lands and you'll get one free splitter off.
I'd advise people to take resistor jewels in this set rather than dragon resistance. Because you need to be over 20 dragon defense to not get dragon blight and blight resist takes care of the ice/fire blight too so it's a win win
I remember doing this and constantly carting. I finally sent out a SOS and 3 horn bros came in. They made it super easy. 10 runs later i finally had enough for a full armor, LBG, LS and GS. Which i used to go on and solo fatalis. 😂
it boils down to two questions... 1) can you trigger an elemental flinch with your weapon of choice... and 2) can you survive long enough to kill this thing! p.s. I have beaten Alatreon with a Velkhana and Silver Los LS without Fatalis Gear, I did use Alatreon Gear but that's besides the point! took like 30+ minutes and many faints but I did it... and I will never do it again!!
I dont think fatalis gear makes the Alatreon fight easier,but the fact that you got fatalis gear made everything slower and easier based off the number of hours and fast reacts you did surviving Fatalis, my opinion. Full safi with lv2 blight res with coal is sweet, for me. However, ill never miss the health minus with every hit from Safi
Yo, DG, nice Longsword play, as always! But the build needs changes, definitely. Even with Dragon Res 3, you still get Dragonblight, and avoiding it was the only purpose of that skill. If you can't get over 20% Dragon Res, then use Blight Res instead (2 points if you run Coalescence, 3 points if not). I commented that on the Velkhana video, but here I say it again. Max Might and Iceblight really don't go well together. If you want to run MM, then use nullberries immediately after getting hit with Ice- or Waterblight, or slot Blight Res, as mentioned above. That said... I would get rid of Max Might, at least on this set. Your playstyle uses too much stamina for it to be efficient. And with a Kjarr weapon, you don't need MM to hit 100% aff. You might as well use Crit Eye, which is guaranteed affinity for the entire hunt. Max Might requires a certain "discipline" with rolling and running. If you don't learn it, then you will be making hunts harder for yourself by not having that 40% affinity
Honestly I don't think the alatreon fight is hard. It just has mechanics that pressures the player. Thankfully once I got a decent build (non fatalis btw) and learned its moves I was able to beat Alatreon no problem. Although I doubt I could hold a candle to fatalis so I'm waiting on that..
No I haven't beaten this yet. I fairly well geared for him and I almost beat him yesterday but didn't break the 2nd horn in time and he went to ice mode which made me useless. I have tried and tried again. Literally hard stuck on Alatreon
The build isn’t terrible but it’s also not great. Always include agitator it’s an easy +28attack buff. Max might is a waste of slotting imo bc it comes with absolutely no attack buff. For LS I would recommend AT Velk helm and 4pc fatti with alpha waist. Crit eye 4 WEX 3 and agitator 7 will give 100% affinity using a Kjarr weapon bc they have awesome base affinity. Also include blight res 2 and eat a custom platter with groomer to naturally recover from any blight in 10sec without nulls and proc coa. Build should also always include peak. I would also recommend using evasion mantle for some nasty damage buff proc. It’s easy to sub 7min Alatreon solo with this build with an easy double element check...and if you are playing smooth and clean staying buffed with might seed and demon powder and proc the evasion mantle buffs you should also be able to triple element check her.

Alatreon in this game only posed a serious problem for me when trying to weaken it b4 it does escanton judgement but had too low of element to trigger it consistently. Once i finally managed a few successful solo's and made it's gs wep and pumped up it's dragon element as high as i could get it, it became a LOT easier then. Ik the hunt is designed for multiplayer but adding a gimmick like that is just bad artificial difficulty imo where u need so much element to weaken it. Else u get insta fainted. If not for that ala would be a lot easier dealing with much like in the older games to me where it was just a straight up showdown without gimmicks.
@@fabinagl7601 Regardless of the build used it requires a ton or decent amount of elemental damage to pull it off is the point when facing ala in mhwib. Keeping it from changing elements isn't difficult with enough of the opposing element, and my frostcraft/crit element gs builds makes him cake to slay now. Even so i still stand by my opinion to this day that the fight is terribly designed to basically be racing against time at trying to "defuse a bomb" so to speak while also breaking it's horns to try and keep it in it's initial element state as long as possible. Especially so with others which is why i prefer going solo.

You can look it up, but anyways anything after 800 defense is extremely small increments to your actual defensive ability. The percentage of *actual* defense mitigation barely raises past 1% from 800 defense to 1100 defense , You can check your Armor on a MHW database like Honey Hunter world that calculates your sets defensive value using datamines from the game. Basically as long as you have around 900 defense, your pretty much set for anything in the game (this is a skill based game). Skills like Health Boost and Divine Blessing are better for survival.
You're supposed to get hit like a truck. It's how these late game monsters are designed. Try health boost, divine blessing and recovery up to stay alive longer. Upgrading Armor beyond ~900 gives only tiny defense benefits. Try different weapons out. They all have different play styles. Something with a shield might prove to be easier to play with.
Another thing most people don’t understand about Alatreon is her elemental hit zone values. Her best elemental hit zone is her forearms so it is imperative to always keep her forearms tenderized and I personally recommend tenderizing the wings as well to keep her breast plate soft and avoid any possible deflection and for better affinity on inadvertent body hits while working her forearms. Concentrate solely on forearms till you get the ele check then tenderize head while she is down and hit head wash rinse repeat. With a good build hitting her forearms consistently you should be able to easily double ele check her per cycle and if you play extremely clean and with a little good rng luck you can triple ele check her on a cycle
I'm more comfortable to hunt alatreon using alatreon armor, eventhough i have fullset fatalis armor. It's because using nulberry everytime i get dragonblight is annoying LOL
The only thing you have to do is litterally switch from raw to ice/fire. Then the topple will come just playing normally. Unless you're a long gunlance main
Bro you don’t even need element, go in solo and eat safeguard. Bring you best raw weapon. You have ~25 minutes to kill him if you don’t die to regular attacks. I’ve soloed him raw in 14:56
I'm gonna try n solo this bastard. Every time I hop in a sos, barely anybody is doing the DPS check. They treat him like Escaton don't exist. Gonna be a little tricky for GL but I'm sure it can be done. Tryna get a good Kjarr GL Ice though
It took me about 4 days to beat alatreon I had to grind out a whole new set of gear for his fight lol. But I'm having so much trouble with the time limit on fatalis idk what I'm doing wrong so I'm gonna try to grind out some alatreon weapons because they have super high elemental damage for the fatalis fight.
i wasn't on mhw when aletreon first came out, just came back recently to fight fatalis. so technically the only time i beat fatalis was the easier version and i need to go back and fight the real special assignment that has more health. it's funny because i was able to beat fatalis and get his full armor/weps but thinking about aletreon has me a little scare haha
Same with me brother, but on different case, i can beat alatreon and fatalis solo, but AT velkana, and seliana supply cache event (teostra, lunastra and kushala), they scary AF... LOL

My last and most important tip for anyone that struggles with Alatreon....DONT USE A DRAGON ELEMENT WEAPON!!!! ALATREON’S DRAGON HIT ZONES ARE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE 🗑. FOR BLAZING BLACK TWILIGHT DAWNS TRIUMPH AND THE EVENING STAR MISSIONS USE ICE ELEMENT!!! ALATREON NEWBS THAT DON’T HAVE KJARR WEAPONS NEED TO MAKE THE FROSTFANG BARIOTH WEAPON. THAT IS WHY THE RELEASED FROSTFANG AND ALATREON AT THE SAME TIME SO PEOPLE WOULD HAVE EASY FAST ACCESS TO A WEAPON TO FIGHT ALATREON WITH!!!!
just some constructive criticism here, the audio mix makes it somewhat hard to hear what you are saying because of the game music and stuff, a little change to that would be nice. Love the content Tho! Keep up the good work!
Yep most build unless you playing a weapon with philes, shells, or charge features doesn't need anything but crit eye, crit boost, wex, and then normal comforts like evade window, health boost, and ect. Long Sword is super easy. I wouldnt bother with atack past 4 diminishing returns 4 only for 5% affinity but once afinity is knockes out you done.
My suggestion to you from a weapon/armor stand point would be styngian zinoger, safi, kulve (who is up right now) or raging brachy for weapons if your not that far along. If you are at close to endgame aka Alatreon on the event with frost borath set since the event is up might not be a bad look. As for armor teo+mix sets if you got safi weapons if not odogoron I know I misspelled that for protective polish is also viable. If you need some assistance I am happy to help you in game as well I am at fatalis have full safi gear and some alatreon played long sword several games now but in this one im a hammer db main.

@@smolturtle5596 well you can do the event with great jargaras to deco farm right now but really try pushing for the skills above in the video for your build his build isnt bad. Your build doesnt have to be the meta most speed runners will tell you to run comfort like ear plugs and other stuff. In reality unless you speed running crit eye or max agitator, wex, and critboost is really all you need.
imo Alatreon isn’t that bad specifically with Longsword. Some of it’s attacks are easy to foresight because it doesn’t move a lot and some are slow enough for an easy helmbreaker. The first time I beat it solo is when I was below MR 150 with a frostfang LS and it was pretty good compared to a Kjarr ice LS.
I just gave up on this fight I've used many different builds different armor different elemental weapons and for some reason I can't get passed the first wall so I'm skipping this fight all together.
You could just take blast weapons in solo and beat him cart to escaton and come back beat him some more cart again and he should be dead before the last one
And still this build is "bad" against alatreon, with a full optimiced elemental build u can even get 270 dmg per tick with helmbreaker, and at least 200 dmg in the worst scenario, so fatalis is still not worth against alatreon
I still haven’t beat Alatreon. I want to get a Kjarr weapon I like, but I get owned by Kulve also. I feel like I’m many, many hours behind to be decent at this game. I’m not even blaming the game, because it gives longtime players a challenge, but to me, it’s pure anxiety and hopelessness. My friends stopped playing and I slowly lost the will to keep going. As much as I want to beat Kulve, Alatreon, and Fatalis, I really don’t see it happening. I also don’t want to be carried either. If I was with people who knew it was gonna be tough and support me, I’d get back into things, but I feel like I’m wasting people’s time online. How do you guys “git gud”? Everything kicks my ass, so I have no idea how to get better.
endgame MH is about openings. Most (but not all) monster attacks, no matter how crazy, leave the monster in a state of vulnerability. That state may only be 5 seconds long, but even so, you need to capitalise on those. Example: Alatreon's lightning spam leaves the area below his chest completely vulnerable because lightning won't strike there.
I feel like fatalis armor will make people a lot more careless in fights thus affecting natural skill because you can tank so many damn hits from top tier monsters that it seems like you really dont need to be at 100% to win.
Play with 1 other person and eat for safeguard. Focus on damage during the first part of the fight and it won't matter if you don't do enough elemental damage because safeguard will let you eat the ej. As soon as you die switch weapons to whatever element is now effective and go for a horn break. While you're doing this you'll get the topple easily and then you just beat his ass

After I got Fatalis gear and Kjarr weapons Alatreon became pretty easy. But at MR24 with no augments and mediocre gear he was very difficult

Bro you don’t even need element, go in solo and eat safeguard. Bring you best raw weapon. You have ~25 minutes to kill him if you don’t die to regular attacks. I’ve soloed him raw in 14:56

you're better off fighting it solo honestly. You may get lucky with some randoms but it's easier to fight it solo.
took me 20+ trys to beat alatreon, beat the fatalis special assignment on my first try and the event quest on the second.
My tip for you is use ice cb solo with shieldspire cat

Remember use a high ass elemental weapon, constantly attack him when he’s open and you’ll be fine.

I'm actually working on beating real alatreon I decided to fight the easy one to get to fatalis fast.
I solo'd Alatreon 24 times, using GS and LBG. Once you figure him out, it's not tough.

Maximum Might isn't really a good Longsword skill. You're constantly losing stamina with forsight so Maximum might won't be procking.
Foresight isn't something often worried about you mainly have max might when going for helmbreakers or other combos so it's fine

It took me about 4 days to beat alatreon I had to grind out a whole new set of gear for his fight lol. But I'm having so much trouble with the time limit on fatalis idk what I'm doing wrong so I'm gonna try to grind out some alatreon weapons because they have super high elemental damage for the fatalis fight.
i wasn't on mhw when aletreon first came out, just came back recently to fight fatalis. so technically the only time i beat fatalis was the easier version and i need to go back and fight the real special assignment that has more health. it's funny because i was able to beat fatalis and get his full armor/weps but thinking about aletreon has me a little scare haha

Same here. I came back to fight Fatalis and fought the easy Alatreon only. Now I'm trying to solo him with a Frostfang charge blade.

My last and most important tip for anyone that struggles with Alatreon....DONT USE A DRAGON ELEMENT WEAPON!!!! ALATREON’S DRAGON HIT ZONES ARE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE 🗑. FOR BLAZING BLACK TWILIGHT DAWNS TRIUMPH AND THE EVENING STAR MISSIONS USE ICE ELEMENT!!! ALATREON NEWBS THAT DON’T HAVE KJARR WEAPONS NEED TO MAKE THE FROSTFANG BARIOTH WEAPON. THAT IS WHY THE RELEASED FROSTFANG AND ALATREON AT THE SAME TIME SO PEOPLE WOULD HAVE EASY FAST ACCESS TO A WEAPON TO FIGHT ALATREON WITH!!!!

Can anyone help me understand how to make a build for long sword without just showing me the meta build I wanna know what I need and should have
It's just standard meele skills. Crit eye, WE, MM, attack, and comfort skills. LS doesn't require anything special at all.
Yep most build unless you playing a weapon with philes, shells, or charge features doesn't need anything but crit eye, crit boost, wex, and then normal comforts like evade window, health boost, and ect. Long Sword is super easy. I wouldnt bother with atack past 4 diminishing returns 4 only for 5% affinity but once afinity is knockes out you done.
My suggestion to you from a weapon/armor stand point would be styngian zinoger, safi, kulve (who is up right now) or raging brachy for weapons if your not that far along. If you are at close to endgame aka Alatreon on the event with frost borath set since the event is up might not be a bad look. As for armor teo+mix sets if you got safi weapons if not odogoron I know I misspelled that for protective polish is also viable. If you need some assistance I am happy to help you in game as well I am at fatalis have full safi gear and some alatreon played long sword several games now but in this one im a hammer db main.
@@Donky_Kongs_Baby right now I am just running a full fatalis beta set with a max fatalis LS with meh deco’s cause I don’t got really good deco’s. I just never know what extra things like max might or flawless to add
@@smolturtle5596 well you can do the event with great jargaras to deco farm right now but really try pushing for the skills above in the video for your build his build isnt bad. Your build doesnt have to be the meta most speed runners will tell you to run comfort like ear plugs and other stuff. In reality unless you speed running crit eye or max agitator, wex, and critboost is really all you need.
imo Alatreon isn’t that bad specifically with Longsword. Some of it’s attacks are easy to foresight because it doesn’t move a lot and some are slow enough for an easy helmbreaker. The first time I beat it solo is when I was below MR 150 with a frostfang LS and it was pretty good compared to a Kjarr ice LS.

I just gave up on this fight I've used many different builds different armor different elemental weapons and for some reason I can't get passed the first wall so I'm skipping this fight all together.
The first time I beat him was a silver rathalos build with duel blades, now that we have the USJ armor that should be even better.
You could just take blast weapons in solo and beat him cart to escaton and come back beat him some more cart again and he should be dead before the last one

And still this build is "bad" against alatreon, with a full optimiced elemental build u can even get 270 dmg per tick with helmbreaker, and at least 200 dmg in the worst scenario, so fatalis is still not worth against alatreon

I still haven’t beat Alatreon. I want to get a Kjarr weapon I like, but I get owned by Kulve also. I feel like I’m many, many hours behind to be decent at this game. I’m not even blaming the game, because it gives longtime players a challenge, but to me, it’s pure anxiety and hopelessness.
My friends stopped playing and I slowly lost the will to keep going. As much as I want to beat Kulve, Alatreon, and Fatalis, I really don’t see it happening. I also don’t want to be carried either.
If I was with people who knew it was gonna be tough and support me, I’d get back into things, but I feel like I’m wasting people’s time online.

endgame MH is about openings. Most (but not all) monster attacks, no matter how crazy, leave the monster in a state of vulnerability. That state may only be 5 seconds long, but even so, you need to capitalise on those. Example: Alatreon's lightning spam leaves the area below his chest completely vulnerable because lightning won't strike there.

I feel like fatalis armor will make people a lot more careless in fights thus affecting natural skill because you can tank so many damn hits from top tier monsters that it seems like you really dont need to be at 100% to win.

Play with 1 other person and eat for safeguard. Focus on damage during the first part of the fight and it won't matter if you don't do enough elemental damage because safeguard will let you eat the ej. As soon as you die switch weapons to whatever element is now effective and go for a horn break. While you're doing this you'll get the topple easily and then you just beat his ass
