Bosnia And Herzegovina have a very useless 21km coastline, so in terms of shipping it means nothing, no cargo ships can access it, so by fact it does have a coastline but by theory it is landlocked.
There's also some element of actual truth in saying Bosnia doesn't have a coastline, as that small coastline is under Herzegovina when you look at B-H's internal makeup. If they were to hypothetically separate then Bosnia itself becomes landlocked.
6:58 incorrect! Australian here and the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) does technically have a small piece of the eastern coast. Have a look at the timestamp. See on the coast a dotted line? That is a piece of coast that is part of the ACT. The reason why this is the case? After deciding on the location of Australia's capital, and hence, some territory around it as a governing body, it was realised that the capital didn't have access to sea. The only issue after was that the two spaces of the territory are separated by NSW. The area is known as the Jervis Bay Territory and is part of the ACT.
Well, thank you for making an interesting video about geography. This is the sort of thing that occurs to me at 3:00 am and then I drift back off to sleep thinking about it. Not of any practical use (except that, maybe, we ought to work on ensuring secure ocean access for these countries to speed their development), but fun to consider.
Now try putting them all back and carefully removing coastal countries to grant access to all the landlocked ones. What’s the minimum number of existing countries that need to be removed to create the maximum possible number of coastal countries?
