  • This place has over several different elephant sanctuaries in Chiang Mai. They normally do pick ups around the City hotels, but since I was living outside of the City I got a Grab to the office, and got picked up on a taxi/bus there. Took about roughly 1 hour to get out to the beautiful rain forest. Half Day - $35 USD roughly.
    - got a briefing, given a poncho, you feed them first with a giant basket of bananas, for some reason my elephant just wasn't wanting mine.
Then you get up close with them to take more photos.
    Give them a nice wash
Then the best bit, go have a swim with them. Everyone jumps in to the lake and bath the elephants.
Followed by a mud bath - this is when you get down right dirty. The mud keeps the elephant cool in the sun.
After this, you get to go have a shower.
    Finish with a nice lunch.
    Amazing time.
I'd like to think they're well looked after, one of my favorite day's was out here.
A nice classic Thai song from "Only God Forgives", reminds me of Thailand every time I hear it.
