- Music and dance from Ceol Chiarraí in Listowel.
A special programme from Listowel in County Kerry featuring music and dance from the musicians and dancers of Ceol Chiarraí.
School children from Listowel dance along as Ceol Chiarraí perform on the street in Listowel.
This episode of ‘Jo-Maxi’ was broadcast on 22 April 1992. The presenter is Shauna Lowry.
Reminded me slightly of my own youth growing up in West Central Scotland late eighties, and nineties. Minus the terrific dancers I remember the odd old fella playing the accordion etc. Something you rarely see here nowadays
I absolutely love this. Wish I was there, but alas I am in the USA. My heart will always be in Ireland, though. I have Irish, Scottish, Dutch and Native American blood in me.
you are one of us and home that you come to visit your Irish cousins very soon.
it is great to see the fairy maids of late summer playing and dancing to the music,
This is a great film ❤️
i love the Irish . ❤ my family “emigrated” to Australia. in chains . white slaves. never permitted to return home. i still remember.. i want to go home.
And my lot reacently had to find work in England working their bloody farms. Lifes a bag of shit.
Now the streets are full with scangers in canada goose jackets rapping to drill music
As a rite of passage every foreigner coming into ireland should have to be able to play a squeeze box that would keep them away 😛
Shona Lowrey looked like a mere child in this video.
Watching video like this makes me so sad. So fed up with this unelected government who are destroying Ireland everyday. They have a special kind of hatred for Ireland and Irish people in general. If someone had of told me 30 years ago, the government would invite unchecked young men from countries that are not war torn to Ireland, placing them all over the country and promising them free homes, welfare, medical card etc I wouldn't have believed them. This is another plantation, but the enemy is within this time.
@@johnbalance3989 educate yourself please.
You act as if the Irish don't have political parties that are fighting this, and those poor, put upon Irish don't reject them every time.
The same happened to the UK in the 70s-90s. The media called anyone who fought this exact same process racists then, just as they do now.
And the Irish, despite having an exact test case across the Irish sea, let the elites do the same thing again.
So please. If the Irish cannot see what's going on, but lap up obvious Bolshevist calumnies against their friends, neighbors and kinsmen, then they don't deserve to exist as a people.
Well said
Can you imagine just how Irish Ireland looked back then a very far cry from today unfortunately
We all came from somewhere else, just depends on how far back you want to go..
@@Jeremyramone Here we go, everyone is fed up with this virtue signalling woke crap.
@@Jeremyramone What about when there's no record of any of your ancestors coming from anywhere but the county which you grew up in......I forgot the Irish can't be native because they're white.
@@Scotia6261 there is no biological basis for the term "race", distinctions/characterizations such as white, black etc are merely social constructs.
@@Jeremyramone Ireland has it's culture and Kerry has it's own woven by generations who sacrificed everything .
Christ Jesus, you’d think roving mobs of Irish werewolves were prowling around the countryside of Kerry by the desperate sounds of this response section!
You must be new here.
@@johnnyfeen1347 unfortunately not
Explain?
@@Scotia6261 These fine Irish traditionalists appear to think immigrants are responsible for their woes.
@@nightheron5892 Immigrants? You mean all these fakugees that arrive with no documentation yet got on a plane in Europe.
When you are doing these videos in 30 years time, the parades music and traditions may be somewhat different...
And the people given what is about to happen to Listowel in the near future.
I wish I could go back in time and warn them of the immigration now.
They'd have done nothing, just like the mother and baby homes in operation back then the Irish people did nothing
quit bitching about immigration and demand an end to war instead
We all came from somewhere else it just depends on how far back you want to go..
Keep your xenophobia to yourself, pal.
@@Mrpublicimagelimited Do you support this? 👉 Varadkar and Coveney set this in motion, when he was Taoiseach, Varadkar went to Marrakesh in 2018 to sign the UN Migration Pact on behalf of Ireland, without any debate with the Irish people. This Pact legalised international MASS migration and is criminalising any criticism of same as hate speech
