I can't imagine the pang of terror he felt in the airport that day. You're the most wanted man in North Korea, you're in public, in a huge airport, with armed security everywhere, you've been on the run for years and two strangers sneak up on you, rub a liquid on your face and yell "Got you" and run off giggling while you start going into shock.

[ADVICE] MY-PHILOSOPHY: "INNER-STRENGTH" I have found that simply "loving myself" (inner-child) is a powerful tool against most types of social-dependency/vulnerability. Atropine is very unpleasant to use, he could have been phobic of it and unsure if it really was VX. It is in itself a powerful drug and a poison. It can cause tremors, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, dry eyes, pounding heart, headache and many other things. If I were unsure it was VX I would be very hesitant to use atropine, also if what he had were vials and not auto injectors he could have not known how much to give himself and how to inject it. He could have used the atropine and died of that instead of the VX. He did get atropine at the doctor's later, maybe he thought doctors doing it would be safer.

I can't imagine the pang of terror he felt in the airport that day. You're the most wanted man in North Korea, you're in public, in a huge airport, with armed security everywhere, you've been on the run for years and two strangers sneak up on you, rub a liquid on your face and yell "Got you" and run off giggling while you start going into shock.

Reading into this more is fascinating. One of the reasons why they needed two 'actors' to touch his face is that VX by itself is too risky to apply to the mule's hands, it would incapacitate them enough to not perform the task or just straight up die. Instead, they applied two separate components, one of each to the girls. In this state it's not too dangerous. But when combined, it forms VX, and here only VX was on the man's face. Also, only one of the girls experienced mild VX symptoms, which is possibly whichever girl went second.
That does explain a lot more of what happened and why they weren't severely injured by it.

Possible. And prolly he didn't want to go into hiding and would just want to enjoy life , and would not care if he will die or not.
He probably thought being in a highly public place with security was safe. As for the antidote thing, my best guess is he was so panicked that he forgot about it or assumed it was too late once the symptoms started. Genuinely no idea and we'll never know.

Amazing video about an absolutely insane scheme. I have so many follow-up questions about this whole thing! Had they planned the embassy stand off in advance as a way to exfiltrate their agents? Was the choice to recruit foreign girls specifically meant to force a trial media storm, to damage international relations and possibly making more time to get their people out of Malaysian even under increased scrutiny?
Even the victim! Why did he not used the antidote, if he had it on him? My theory on that one: he planned to tell the doctor he had the antidote on him, but died beforehand.
Atropine is very unpleasant to use, he could have been phobic of it and unsure if it really was VX. It is in itself a powerful drug and a poison. It can cause tremors, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, dry eyes, pounding heart, headache and many other things. If I were unsure it was VX I would be very hesitant to use atropine, also if what he had were vials and not auto injectors he could have not known how much to give himself and how to inject it. He could have used the atropine and died of that instead of the VX. He did get atropine at the doctor's later, maybe he thought doctors doing it would be safer.

[ADVICE]
MY-PHILOSOPHY: "INNER-STRENGTH"
I have found that simply "loving myself" (inner-child) is a powerful tool against most types of social-dependency/vulnerability.
Example:
In my mind, I visualise a picture of my younger self (family albums might help). And I 'remember' what the emotion of genuine love felt like. And then I project those emotions onto the mental visualization of my younger self. I meditate and hold that 'state of mind' for as long as I can.
The result? I feel my conscious energy resignating with positivity and renewed strength. And my anxiety immediately evaporates away. At the very least, depending on my levels of anxiety, this mediation practice aids to 'evaporate' much of it. You can do the same thing with "trying to 'remember' temperatures, e.g. hot or cold. And then project that memory onto a visualised heat source (all within your minds eye). You will 'feel' the effects immediately."
