There's this case of a woman who faked her cancer in tiktok, and while doing that is already horrible, some cancer patients said she made them feel even worst because she was out there doing exercise and living her life while having cancer, while them were way too sick and in pain to leave their homes. It takes a different breed of psycho to do that
@@Mediados Except you're wrong. A sociopath *knows* right from wrong and has a conscience, although limited and, supposedly, very selectively. A psychopath has neither of the things I just brought up. So the word you're looking for is psychopath.

The 60 minutes interview also revealed that Belle Gibson "befriended" a family whose son had cancer and allegedly used details of his story to use for her own story. Really awful lady.
Now that's downright evil right there... Like your moral compass must just be a water bottle that you spin whenever you're questioning if what you're doing is actually OK...
I think the question for me is just.. Why? Clearly this woman isn't right in the head, but what's she suffering from? Is she really just a predator preying on our empathy? Is she delusional and believes whatever her brain thinks up? Maybe she wasn't breastfed as a child. I honestly don't know, but that's the question from me.
I don't think it's possible, that's why doctors have to examine, take blood, etc. to tell you what your best diet is, how much exercise you should be getting and so on. Aside from that the only universal answers everyone knows already, try to eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, stay active, avoid excess, but you can't sell those things to people.
The thing that angrys me the most is what she put her child through. She faked a seizure in front of him, during his birthday part. Then he found out she was lying. You cant process that type of stuff at that age.
it's insane to me how she claimed to have a 40 minute seizure and then just continued to act completely fine. a 40 minute seizure is almost guaranteed to cause some type of brain damage at the least, but without medical care it would've killed her. the fact that people just took her on her word for it and didn't question how someone had a 40 minute uninterrupted seizure with no signs of lasting damage shows just how gullible people are and how willing they are to believe these influencers and celebrities
40 minutes is a hecking long time for a seizure... a really hecking long time... and youre right in saying that something that long wont leave lasting marks is super sus. People have partially paralyzed faces from seizures that lasted only a fraction of that. And she just gets up like jesus and has absolutely no lasting effects? I think she knew she was preying on people desperate for any sliver of hope, that would lie to themselves in order to keep the illusion up that there was something they could do to prevent the unprefentable.
She also stopped “seizing” to tell the people around not to call an ambulance, I get the feeling she intentionally surrounded herself with people who didn’t know shit about seizures…
@@RubyBlueUwU seriously, the fact that no one around her knew about seizures is insane to me. i have seizures every so often and i make sure the people around me know what to do when it happens in case i have one at work

Cancer survivor here. At the doctor's office where I received my chemo, I had a really sweet, experienced nurse who did wonders to ease my fears. She put her arm around me and reassured me that I was in good hands. That small gesture alone did me a lot of good. She repeatedly emphasized, throughout my chemo, to listen to the doctor and the cancer team, and ONLY them. She said, "I want you to be aware of this, so that you're not blindsided: you're gonna have well-meaning people coming out of the woodwork recommending all kinds of stuff. This miracle fruit, or that supplement, some supposed superfood, or some bizarre exercises... it'll run the gamut. DON'T LISTEN TO ANY OF IT. Listen to us, your team, and us only." And lo and behold, it happened exactly like she said.
I had a workmate who died of possibly curable breast cancer. She paid a shame "health centre" 10 thousand dollars to treat it she died in 6 months after being fed homeopathic rubbish. These people should be jailed
@@gretchenbaker7435that’s absolutely terrible. if someone wants to pursue alternative medicine for their treatment then that’s their own (poor) decision to make but anyone who CHARGES people for negligent advice that will never truly help should be held legally responsible for their quick deaths
Steve Jobs died of a completely curable form of camcer because he decided he knew more than his doctors and decided to treat it by eating a lot of fruit.
While true, you also need to be lucky. At any given moment in time there are thousands of people making up all sorts of bullshit stories - only a rare few end up with the kind of infamy she got out of this.
Thank you so much for covering this story, my mum & her friends were so taken by Belle's story at the time that one of them followed her advice religiously after being diagnosed with cancer, and sadly passed away from what would have been treatable cancer at the time of diagnosis. People like Belle are objectively evil.
What got me at the time is that no one questioned it, she claimed to be literally riddled with cancer in most of her major organs but never seemed to show a symptom of cancer or treatment.
To be fair (or factual I guess? Not trying to imply she deserves any leniency), she wasn’t getting treatment or claiming to be afaik. Part of her story was claiming to be curing her cancer through diet and whatever else and discouraging actual treatment. It’s potentially one of the most insidious things she did, because it’s bad enough when actual sufferers discourage actual medical treatment in favour of ~natural healing~, but this monster didn’t even have her own life on the line. I’m guessing the ridiculous seizure fiasco was supposed to be her “showing symptoms” lmao, but the people platforming and paying her should’ve done their due diligence long ago
It's particularly insidious, because people who are in the late stages of cancer are generally in very poor health, struggling with basic activities of daily living even outside of bad days. Then they see people who say they are even worse off carrying on with their life carefree and open, and they start thinking they must just be weak if these people can do so.
And any medical professional and scientist im sure knew something wasnt right, but since when do social media “professionals” listen to those debbie downers?
The journalists who exposed her, Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, went on to write a book, The Woman Who Fooled The World. Its full of little small details that just leave you gobsmacked by the sheer audacity of what she was doing. Highly recommend it, especially if you like books like Bad Blood.
@@raphaellavictoria01 would you go up to someone who tells you they have cancer and demand evidence of their diagnosis? if you're a rude asshole maybe; but most ppl don't and I bet you wouldn't either.
A note about Steve Jobs - he rejected conventional treatment in favour of alternative treatment. When he went for a second opinion several months later, the doctor told him he could have saved his life if he saw him all those months ago. Jobs was a know it all prick who shortened his own life through sheer arrogance.
Yep. He sought modern cancer treatment only after becoming sick enough to recognize his fate. It's as if he was previously certain that the universe couldn't let him die like that. Coming to understand that he was, like all of us, mortal, and that the cancer was going to kill him...only then did he act. But it was far too late.
Dude also believed he didn't need deodorant due to his vegetarian diet, despite folks not wanting to stand near him due to his disgusting body odor. He was real smart at business stuff but a moron at every other facet of life.
As a three-time organ transplant recipient with knowledge of how the system works, there's almost no way that Jobs got his organ through legitimate means.
There are so many ways for scammers to get easy victims nowadays. All it takes is no shame or empathy. Despicable behaviour that will always catch up to them one day.
I have reason to believe there’s going to be more of these people current year especially going for RUclipsrs. You shouldn’t trust someone who says all the right things and what you want to hear.
I dated such a woman before. When she got caught lying and "confessed" the confession was just a new set of lies. And then lying about the confession itself.... It was incredible! And those lies had no purpose at all, other than to see if she would get away with it, or so it seemed.
I've known many people like that. Most of them lied to get something out of it, such as status, money, jobs, passports (of a wealthy country) etc. But I've also known people who just lied for the sake of it. It's very common. They do it for the attention and admiration, and for the fun of seeing how many lies they can get away with.
Thank you, Kira. I am a health professional and have to fight these things on a daily basis for decades now. I consider myself lucky when I manage to educate one person, because another 99 still follow the gurus. Reality does not have a magic pill to offer.
I'm a health professional and I know what you mean, but when someone with stage 4 is alive and functioning 10 years later, that's pretty magical. As is a stent for a heart attack that would have killed you 20 years ago. I'm sensitive because when a physician tells me they don't have a magic pill what they usually mean is they can't figure out what I have, or there is no good treatment for it yet, or they don't want to hear about my upset or impatience.. which they should damn well listen to when they don't have something that actually works to alleviate something that's disrupting my life.
@@deadbeef576 there is a diet designed specifically for patients recovering from cancer. Personally, I know two people that went into remission based on diet change alone, but I also know many others that were on the diet and did not win their battle. Cancer is a very specific disease, but it is substantially complex. There are people that study it (in labs) for decades and my money would be on their recommendations, not anyone else's.
It hurts me physically to see her try an act like she’s a victim too from the backlash. I hope the rest of her life is miserable and lonely. Who knows how many people she directly harmed or indirectly killed by lying about traditional medicine. A true waste of human life.
I followed this story as it happened and I'm glad you're covering it because people need to know that this woman is batshit crazy and sadly there are too many like her.
7:39 The fact she showed up that the funeral uninvited and did all this hopla is just ridiculous. Attention was so important to her even in a moment meant to celebrate and grieve someone life.
Seems like she's a pathological liar. I had a best friend at high school that used to lie to me in a lot of stuff, that I found out were not true much later. I don't see any reason she would do such stuff, yet she did and she lied to parents and teachers also. I remember her once saying she didn't know why she does it, that she didn't really want to even.
Some people are like that, it's a definite mental illness/disorder that should get help and treatment but it's also one of the unsexy ones that most people would rather label and dismiss. It's not cool enough to platform. Who would wanna look into a person that just lies all the time? :L That's part of why so many diseases just get ignored, especially in mental health, you need money to do research no one's gonna give you a grant to research fuckin' LIARS lmaoooo~ Same with regular scientific research, that's why we have a replication crisis. It's really cool to discover something new even if it's fake, but it's not as cool to debunk it, and journals won't publish debunks or replication experiments, etc. because why would they? It's all fucked.
@@haley746 Ye, I believe she meant that. She's kind, fair and friendly person normally, that avoids conflict. I don't believe she wanted to be like that. How did she collapse into a seizure but be able to talk? It’s insane no one thought anything of that. I’m epileptic and the longest seizure I’ve had is 5 minutes. You’re not in a state to talk and from my experience, I usually end up in a state of psychosis. That’s just my experience with seizures. I’ve never heard of anyone having a 40 minute seizure.
I have seizures too and I've never heard of a seizure lasting 40 minutes and then the person being completely fine afterwards. She's clearly never had a seizure before.
Ash, this one hit pretty hard as my fiancé of ten years has just finished treatment for stage 3 breast cancer. I’m happy to report that she now has the all clear from a 72mm tumour reduced to 5.2mm from chemotherapy. It was brutal both mentally, physically, and emotionally but it proves the treatment does work. For god sake, don’t ever listen to people with “alternative” methods. I genuinely would not wish the big C on anyone, but karma will come for this bitch.
I have terminal cancer and really felt bad about asking people for money for my treatments. Even though in my country, you can only fundraise for 10k maximum, and you are only allowed to spend the money on what you are asking it for, every receipt and bank statement goes to the police for reporting. If you fail to do so, you get fraud charges. I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for the people who donated, and grifters are the reason people who need the money don't get donations.
"Discovering that she did not have terminal brain cancer had been traumatic, she told Brown." Damn, it must be devastating to learn that you don't suffer from a life threatening disease. In Bizarro World.
I don't know if any of these stories have ever made me feel this much genuine rage. Having a normal life without terminal illnesses in either you or your loved ones is a blessing and incredibly rare. I can't imagine someone being that lucky, and looking to people that deal with these things not with sadness or pity, but with jealousy.
Because life sucks for most people. For many, being sick would sadly be better than working constantly and not being paid a living wage, crushing debt, no ability to better their situations. It's extremely sad that instead of governments and medical associations actually helping people better their lives and cure their sickness, some people feel they have no where else to turn but to charlatans like this disgusting excuse for a woman.
My mom passed of stage 4 terminal cancer, she made it 4 years. In that time she ended up in the hospice respite house 4x, where they thought she was a goner and I found her in a coma once. It was a roller coaster ride and so tough. I was just blessed covid was going in and I was getting paid unemployment and could care for her, care for her, spend all my time with her.
I feel like Apple should have some liability here. It's one thing to let the app on their site or even have an algorithm promote it, it's quite another to have people at the company actively promote it without the least bit of due diligence.
Apple is an eco system attracting certain folk that overly trust the myth that they protect their customers. They're in it for the money like everyone else. 🤷🏻♀️
It is insane that there was such little care taken to verify any of her claims, I understand most people not questioning her further, but people making effort to platform her should need something to prove…something. She’s claiming to cure cancer with vegetables to *sell her own app,* you should not be able to do that without a goddamn doctors note or a physical.
You would think they would have learned from their founder's death from cancer he was treating through "alternative" means. Yahoos gonna yahoo I guess.
I remember seeing stuff about her before her lies were exposed and being shocked that she was being given such a huge platform to tell people something as obviously unhinged as changing your diet could cure terminal cancer. You didn't have to realise she was lying about being sick to realise the message she was putting out was dangerous, and all the big companies that enabled her ought to have been held accountable. I can't remember the details, but I think that journalists actually managed to find a few people that could have been saved by modern medical treatments, but fell into her web and died prematurely as a result.
Only just found his channel myself. Not sure how though as this type of content isn't something I usually watch, but I am hooked. I watch pretty much daily and I live just how upfront and genuine he is.
Just wanted to drop a comment saying that Kira is killing it with the condensed docu-like videos. Gets the point across. has good information and no unecessary fluff. I love it.
I'm aussie. Honestly while this is definitely more severe it's not even an isolated incident. Australia is full of morons that crusade for alternative treatments and dangerously encourage people to ignore actual medicine. In the last 5 or so years there was also 2 sisters with crohns disease who appeared on the news multiple times, that raised like $7k-$8k using a go fund me style donation service, emphasising the costs of their specialists and next minute 1 immediately booked and paid for a cruise holiday and the other used their half on a trip overseas to see a Psychic Surgeon though they never had to deal with any backlash for this despite the obvious deception and possible fraud. Actual loonys.
I had a benign tumour the size of a football that wrecked havoc on my leg. Although this was not cancer (thankfully), prior to my surgery, at times the pain was so severe that not even powerful painkillers like hydromorphone could touch it and on occasion, I have collapse/black out because of it. It is so disgusting that someone would piggyback off of those who truly suffered. If there is a hell, there is a special place for people like that.
My Auntie, one of my best friend's Mother, and a few other women I know in my life are suffering cancer at different levels. To hear this disgusting thing garner so much attention, sympathy, and wealth by lying about a deadly medical condition that deeply effects so many people in this world angers me. As Kira said, not many people wants to be that person who asks for proof or challenges something that may sound off as everyone's story is personal, but for goodness sake, I hope it doesn't have to get to that point in society where you have to carry proof of your current medical state.
Do you think that Belle specifically tried to tailor her story to sell it to Apple? Like Steve Jobs had the only type of pancreatic cancer that was treatable/ curable and he still chose homeopathic medicine, and along comes Belle with the exact same type of cancer x 12, who's medication DID work for her
I’ve been in situations where I was desperate. Having no money and barely getting by. Never in any of those situations did I think, “I’m going to fake cancer and scan people”. Disgusting.
As someone who actually had a brain tumor when I was in my late teens and had issues with being able to eat and bad vertigo, both because of the brain tumor. This type of stuff really pisses me off. Of course when my mother was alive, she enjoyed the attention she got from telling everyone she met about my situation and getting money off of them, despite me telling her many times to stop. I was fortunate enough to get surgery to remove the tumor, but these stories always strike a chord with me for the reasons mentioned.
How did she get away and even make money off this? I have scoliosis that is visible to anyone and even I need to see a doctor, get my MRI done to determine how severe my scoliosis is just to get it into documentations for my medical record that I have the condition. How does she not need to do anything at all? To not even needing to fake a doctor's record or memo? Just WTF really.
Would you dare ask a cancer patient for verification for no reason if your boss told you to just do a heartwarming, feel-good interview? I'm guessing that something like that kept happening.
I got scoliosis and severe dystonia, both very obvious conditions that have left me severely disabled. I still don't get believed by my GP's and because these doctors don't believe me, they won't refer me for an MRI or Xray to prove it. At the same time, I observe scammers like that Gibson woman get believed all the time, no matter how unlikely their claims... people love getting lied to!
This is why you should prioritize local charities and donations over anything else. Help those around you, the people in your life and community instead of strangers with nice sounding stories.
Netflix needs to pick you up to make a show. These videos are just as good as the stuff on tv right now. Great Video thanks for doing all of the research just to make the video. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely mental. Great video as always. Just to point out as well, when caught lying it looks like she only donated $1000 rather than $10,000 to One Girl (9:53)
Really hard to double check things like these as medical data is considered incredibly sensitive and is generally speaking heavily guarded information. In most countries the only people who can access that kind of information on a particular patient are the individuals that are directly involved in the patients treatment.
I won’t get into the story myself, because it will just piss me off and turn into a diatribe that I simply don’t need today… but every time I see this girl, or just hear her name, she reminds me of an old high school/college buddy of mine, who created the most amazing organization called Skate4Cancer, with which he skateboarded across Canada and America in honour of his mother and grandmother, and has since also done Australia and a couple other places. But just Google the name ‘Ashley Kirilow’, and read the story about what she did to him. This was before the era of ‘social media clout’ too, so her reasons for doing what she did were just asinine. This kind of thing is honestly one of the worst things a human can do in my opinion. Because it’s not just directed at hurting one person, but literally anyone and everyone who may get involved… (I wrote that before hearing Kira say it himself lol) Fuck these people.
I was with a really narcissistic and selfish ex boyfriend who had his talons in me and manipulated me any chance he could get. This chick is that exact kind of person
Same (except ex-girlfriend), and it took years of hindsight to really fully understand the scope and extent of how big the lies were. Glad you're out of it.

This is my first time hearing about this and maybe this is my experience but my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and early this year passed away, yes he would have moments when he would be better but there's no way he would have enough strength to pull off what she did nor look as well as she did. It baffles me how everyone bought this.
As someone who has fibrocystiosarcoma, Cancer is something I would never wish upon my worst enemy. How she lied to everyone about having such a dreadful disease is beyond me.
Tbh anyone who saw what a person with 4 stage cancer looks like would be very skeptical about this woman. Money comes and money goes. The worst part is that someone on the early stages, who could be cured could buy into her lies and refuse medical treatment.
It’s people like this that make me lose my mind. My great grandmother, grandmother and mom all had/ have cancer. I’m lucky enough that my mother’s is so slow growing it took 15 years to even notice and she’s recovering really well, but the other two both lost their lives to cancer and I think my blood is physically boiling at this woman’s audacity. It’s such a gigantic, all encompassing and damn near unavoidable disease. Even just on a logical stand point, why would you fake something so outrageous that if found out it’s be like signing your life away.
Thank you for letting me know your mother had a 15 year slow growing one... I am currently checking if I have stomach cancer or similar as I have had a lump in my stomach for a long time and it is growing. I think I have to be prepared just in case the doctor tells me some bad news. I thought maybe I would be ok but if your mother had a slow growing one... it is a warning for me.
What is thought of as conventionally healthy diet may actually very well be the opposite. It is all part of agenda to get people on corn and bug diet. Many old billionaires (Trump, Buffet and others that are public about their diet) actually like fast food and that should tell you something.
As astonishing as this case was, what scares me is that people faking things and lying about things feels as though it's becoming more of a regular occurrence.... And there doesn't seem to anything that people won't lie about.
There is a lot of cancers in my family... Including my father who died from it last year. (he wasn't even mid sixty yet...) I am not surprised people like her exist, but I am always amazed how easy some people are to fooled. Even big corporation. When I see "alternative medicine", this is ALWAYS a huge red flag.
Like so many others here, I have anecdotal stories of people i know who were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer - one was brain cancer. You don't look and live like Belle with that kind of illness, no matter what diet plan you follow. It's always amazing to me that people accepted her story without question.
These people always end up outing themselves because they can't stop escalating the grift. It's bad enough that they're able to convince people with their initial obvious scam, but they always ramp up the "problems" when things are plateauing to generate a second round of miracles and get even more eyes on their business venture. This pretty much always backfires on them.
How could she tell her family to not call an ambulance if she was in the middle of an intense seizure for an hour? Is there something I don't understand about seizures? Did they wait until she came to in order to ask if she was okay with it? I know that it was probably a made up story, but how did no one do a double take here? That's not even going in to the fact that, if you're having a seizure for 40 minutes, you are NOT going to come out of that "fine". That is a HUGE strain on both your body and brain. You would be lucky if you could even move properly after that.
Good on you for showing Gwyneth Paltrow in the intro. If it wasn't for her fame in more legitimate circles (ie. acting and film making) she would be viewed in just the same way as these other scammers.
My dad recently was diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer. The idea that someone would not only lie about this, not only use the lie to get donations and sympathy, but also to give struggling families false hope with fake cures... all of it is beyond disgusting.
Every fitness trainer or health professional always gives me conflicting information or information I can find online. I'll never pay for these services. Nope.
I disagree with this somewhat. Gym based fitness instructors are mostly pretty solid, often they go through an accredited training programme via the gym. They all might have different understanding of what they learned so it's a good idea to take their gym classes for a bit to figure out their style of teaching. The internet is massively full of conflicting information and your only real checking system is to check the studies behind the ideas.
Yup, they all make money off the gullible. Never pay for such nonsense, all the info you need is online. Only pay if you need actual treatment and then only after thorough research.
I was reminded of the movie "I Care A Lot". She even looks unannily like main actress Rosamund Pike (who also played Gone Girl) when she isn't smiling. But the movie was made and released before she got exposed, just goes to show that late-stage captialism satirises itself in real life as much as it is done in fiction I guess.
She manages to fully capitalize on her innocent and attractive appearance. On first glance you would absolutely believe that she is a victim the way she speaks and carries herself. It flips all the switches in the human brain that tell you that there is no harm coming from this person.
The way she talked immediately gave me bad vibes, even way back when this first came out. She looks innocent but then you hear her talk and move and completely dry-eyed talk about all these things. Nah, son.
Everything from her (forced) expressions, dead eyes, stiff speech, etc. just immediately screamed psychopath at me. There's no emotion at all. I find it difficult to understand that so many can't see that; even now.

I have known someone like this. It is a mental illness. Not that that gets her a lot of sympathy from me. That said they literally cannot stop lying. This was greed and pride not Münchhausen, if you ask me. She thought she could get away with it. RUclips is full of these people claiming they have illnesses and are being miraculously cured. It's a hugely common scheme happening out in the open.
This is untrue. Illness anxiety disorder is an anxiety disorder, not a delusional disorder. It is serious condition that can be debilitating because people who have it are obsessed with their health and get seriously worried about every small little thing that happens with their body. But it doesn't cause them to lie about having a disease, esp not an easily identifiable one, such as brain cancer. This person is clearly lying on purpose and doing it for money and attention, like many people do.

She's an addict. Having the feeling that you are the savior and hope in a world of crisis gives you a high. She probably felt like a no one until she created this fantasy for herself. And when you begin with a lie, you are forced to keep riding yourself deeper into the quicksand, just like addicts do to get access to that next high, no matter what. And just like addicts, they often cause a lot of collateral damage.

Yes and that short clip here really shows how the interviewer feels about the subject
Never heard of a "health guru" that isn't a scammer or fraud.
They all are. If you aren't in the medical field, you have no business calling yourself a health anything. Quacks are the worst of scum.
Because the ones that aren't frauds are just called "doctors".
I don't think it's possible, that's why doctors have to examine, take blood, etc. to tell you what your best diet is, how much exercise you should be getting and so on. Aside from that the only universal answers everyone knows already, try to eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, stay active, avoid excess, but you can't sell those things to people.
health gurus that aren't scammers are called doctors

The thing that angrys me the most is what she put her child through. She faked a seizure in front of him, during his birthday part. Then he found out she was lying. You cant process that type of stuff at that age.
Imagine the kid looking up his mother's atrocities.
I have a feeling he won't want to associate much with her after that.
it's insane to me how she claimed to have a 40 minute seizure and then just continued to act completely fine. a 40 minute seizure is almost guaranteed to cause some type of brain damage at the least, but without medical care it would've killed her. the fact that people just took her on her word for it and didn't question how someone had a 40 minute uninterrupted seizure with no signs of lasting damage shows just how gullible people are and how willing they are to believe these influencers and celebrities

She never showed any symptoms cause she had an $3.75 app on her phone.
It's particularly insidious, because people who are in the late stages of cancer are generally in very poor health, struggling with basic activities of daily living even outside of bad days. Then they see people who say they are even worse off carrying on with their life carefree and open, and they start thinking they must just be weak if these people can do so.
Beauty Bias.
Bad Blood was a great read, I may check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!

I dated such a woman before. When she got caught lying and "confessed" the confession was just a new set of lies. And then lying about the confession itself.... It was incredible! And those lies had no purpose at all, other than to see if she would get away with it, or so it seemed.

They do it for the attention and admiration, and for the fun of seeing how many lies they can get away with.

Really hard to double check things like these as medical data is considered incredibly sensitive and is generally speaking heavily guarded information. In most countries the only people who can access that kind of information on a particular patient are the individuals that are directly involved in the patients treatment.
Exactly. Even if a doctor knew, he wouldn't be able to point it out.

She did claim to have basically magical treatments. They believed her. Her good condition was just further proof.

Oh man, this was a shock for me. I’m a dietetic masters student and we were learning about diet fads and this came up. I was extremely shocked.
What is thought of as conventionally healthy diet may actually very well be the opposite. It is all part of agenda to get people on corn and bug diet. Many old billionaires (Trump, Buffet and others that are public about their diet) actually like fast food and that should tell you something.

You don't look and live like Belle with that kind of illness, no matter what diet plan you follow. It's always amazing to me that people accepted her story without question.
I remember when all this broke out and came crashing down. Its nice to see this story being covered
I dont understand how shes not in prison

A mixture of the Halo Effect and White Woman Syndrome.
@@PQED It is, but if you only look at her face and the way she looks, it's the Halo Effect perfectly applied. That's how this kind of person gets so many people to follow her. At the end of the day, it all comes down to instinct.
@@Mediados I have severe social phobia (autism unconfirmed), so I guess it's my chronic "threat detection" that's going off here then, because she almost looks like a demon to me (I'm not spiritual, so take that only in the sense of how I would describe her physical presence).
One of the worst I've seen honestly, that's why it's so hard for me to comprehend that so few questioned her on it; especially in the face of how well-known cancer is to wear the person down to the bone.
love your work lad, was hoping you would cover this one and you've done a stellar job yet again
Thanks !
One of my favorite things about Gwyneth Paltrow's health lifestyle is how she puts lemon in alkaline water. 😆😆😆
Reminds me on the Theranos lady. Somehow all of those fraud experienced women seem to have literal demon´s eyes, as well.
There must be some sort of connection between looking completely soulless and having zero empathy.
One of my friends was i think her neighbour and it was so funny cause she used to gauge post about this girl. I don’t normally like vague posting but for the longest time it was so funny seeing it unravel. My friend couldn’t prove she was lying but she could draw attention to weird quirks. When it finally came out as true her fb was full of people going “YO YOU CALLED IT”. It was this hilariously long drawn out thing that I couldn’t believe was real
Found the original thread! She was a girl she knew growing up and had told stories to my friend growing up & they laughed about her being a compulsive liar cause she used to get into sone shit.
Her status was whether or not to call her out publicly; she didn’t have evidence but she was worried about the lie. My friend second guesses herself a lot about belle lying but eventually more and more evidence comes out and she’s like “I’m not a bad person for thinking this!! Ahh”
When I lost my kidneys to an infection a couple of years ago, one of my bosses at the time fully seriously suggested that I try acupuncture and chiropractic as a way to fix my like... needing dialysis 3 times a week. p.s. I got a transplant a while ago and I'm doing great: thanks actual doctors and modern medicine like pharmaceuticals.
I took my sister to an event that she attended and the minute I bat my eye on her I knew she was a fraud.
Great video champ. This was a big story in Aus a couple of years ago. You nailed the story
As a survivor, lemme just say that this chick belongs in jail.
i love this format Kira keep em coming!
The Bebe Gibson's smiling was so creepy as hell for everyone! Look her down already!😨😱
"I've only 6 to 16 WEEKS to live"
24 Weeks Later; "Yup still dying folks."
52 Weeks Later; "Any day now..."
104 Weeks Later "Money Cured ME!!! Thanks for helping."
My favorite goop moment is when she said she likes to add a dash of lemon juice to her alkaline water.
As someone who has cancer (Not terminal thankfully.) words cannot express who I feel about this 'person'.
As a schizophrenic, I think many health gurus are as well and I apologize on their behalf, because they really think they are helping and are special.
They don't think that - they know they are lying.
i dont know anything abt cancer but did ppl not raise some quesstions when she literally listed loads of organs that had cancer but seemed perfectly fine?
poor girl, she should have gone into politics, that's the only profession you are allowed to lie and scam.
this is an excellent story, thanks for doing this video. I've been interested in this for ages but you've only gone and done all the legwork for me. Cheers dude, great video
I have known someone like this. It is a mental illness. Not that that gets her a lot of sympathy from me. That said they literally cannot stop lying. No matter what proof or facts you present they will just create more fantastical lies and they commit to it so much they themselves start believing it.
Anytime someone claims that alternative medicine has cured their terminal illnesses, that's when I start to become suspicious
Difficult story to cover. Very well written
It's funny (and scary) how much evil looks like everyone else at a glance.
Dont you hate it when german doctors just walk into your home and diagnose you with cancer?
Yes and no. Their diagnoses help fend off solar salesmen, “I won’t live long enough for it to pay.”
Nein!
She should be in prison for fraud
Why did she not go to jail?
She is so amazing. Her 60 Minutes Aussie interviews are just madness
Yeah. Stage IV kidney cancer patient here. I'm 25. The revelation that she never even had cancer made me so mad. Holy crap, what an evil person. Once again Kira, I don't know how you stay so chill scripting and editing these as a cancer survivor yourself. I would break down even trying to do it.
Ofc she doesn't have remorse, she's a psychopath. She doesn't have the ability to feel it.
Staging a 40 minute seizure at your own son’s birthday party is absolutely sick. Makes me feel really angry
