I replaced the stock radio on my '11 Road Glide with the Soundstream Reserve unit and plugged in this little magiccast box into it's USB terminal to get wireless Android Auto. Love it!

That is nice to know because I just picked up a new street glide today same whisky fire as you but I went for the blacked out and was trying to figure out how to do carplay
I have the under seat option, I did that because I use a flash drive to play music off the cable, didn’t know it that would still be an option if using the doggle
Pro Monkey... Don't feel bad you didn't waste your money.... The beauty of the one that hides under your seat is that you can plug in a flash drive with all your music in it(it's the way I fly).. as when you're riding in areas like the Black Hill in and around Sturgis you will lose signal and lose your spotify or streaming app from your phone... Therefore, you could still have carplay up and have your music paired from the plugin on the bike... Rode all last year in Sturgis with no issues of dropping music because of this.... had a few people asking me how.
Look at it this way.... that maybe the last time you screw up for the year and it's clear sailing form here on out!!!! Thanks for all you and your wife do!!!! BTW... I hope y''all had a Merry Christmas and wishing you both a Happy New Beer..... Year!!!!
That little maidhawk adapter works much better than that thing under the seat. Works with a cable or wireless. I love it. I heard about it originally from Tom. In the friction Zone. He's up on this stuff a bunch. 😊. That thing under the seat loses connection constantly. It's now in my junk drawer. I'd love to return it actually.
I use android auto and prefer to have it plugged in rather than using the wireless thingy. Short trips are nice because i leave it in my pocket or saddle bag. Using wireless drains my phone battery faster on longer trips.
@@ProfessionalMonkey I’m gonna take some pictures of my babies, a 1991 Heritage Softail and a 2000 Road King Classic. Don’t tell the wife but I may be buying a 95 fat boy. She’ll have a fit and a few other things.
@@donzollars8187 I don’t think so. On a 21 I would still use the fooler in the fairing and a cable. If you’re losing connection it probably actually stuff in your jack on your phone. Shoot alcohol or electrical cleaner in there and compressed air
For the first 40 years of my motorcycle life I didn't give 2 shits about music on my bike. Thought I was kingshit when I took my cassette Walk man along. Worked well until the Thunderheader. Now it's more work to get the stereo going than it took to start my 69 XLCH. FUN fact I played a Conn trombone from the 4th grade until I got my drivers license . By then I had other "intrests ' wink wink nudge nudge
@ProfessionalMonkey from what I understand, Android Auto will not support motorcycle use. At least that's what is claimed, and HD has the icon grayed out. There is a workaround but it involves buying a $100 spoof box type of thing. I think there has been issues with it working consistently. And the new display can no longer use Sirius XM, which I use a lot due to terrible cell service where I ride.
The “microphones” that you pointed to under the seat are actually plugs for heated gear.

It's just one of those things.

Or...you can get a Road King and just glance at the Speedo from time to time and enjoy the wind in your face and just ride!
I have a new Road Glide and a 2023 Highway King. The Highway King is my favorite.
I’ve got one of those also!
Or you can have both

$22 on Amazon now!
We have this device in stock ready to ship.

I made my own similar to Tim's, but mine plugs into the heated gear jack under the seat! I've got just under $30 and made 2 units.
I was wondering when the next debacle video was coming 😂😂 Have a blessed new year to the wonderful staff over at ProMonk Inc!
I hope you have one too!
Dont no why,but these things are never for sale on amazon uk?
I just installed the old under fairing jumper on my 21RGS. Wish I waited to se this 😂 so much simpler

I've never had a problem with the one under my seat...
You probably will...I got it from Tim's stereo. Never worked that well for me.
@@stuartberke5845 I got mine from a bike shop in New Jersey if I recall. works great, and seems to boot faster than my maidhawk one that a got first
Put the bt device into wire to MC first then wire after.
You don’t have to but that’s how I set up my maev device
those plugs under the seat are for your heated gear
Now plug in your phone to that and music will play louder too through carplay
You're right. Plugged in gets better audio thru apps.
put the adapter on right after the factory cord from bike then plug in phone cord after that. then it will work with case
Do you have factory harley navigation or no?
I didn’t buy it. It’s like $300 to activate it and I don’t need it with CarPlay.
Tim’s Stereo makes a fantastic “fooler”
Another great video
22.99 now on Amazon

Is there a way you can do CarPlay on a 2017 ultra?
Not without changing the head deck
@ That’s what I thought. Figured you would know thanks.
I wonder if that little device would work on on a 22
I don’t know, it’s USB C and our 22 would need an adapter
@ I’m going to try it l’ll let you know
2:00 heated gear jacks pre wired for Harley heated gear
Thanks Monkey. Always entertaining.. Lol

Can you provide the link for the dongle?

Been like that since day one!
I wonder if that Bluetooth doggle would work on previous generation
Not sure, I sort of doubt it?
The one under the seat I really don’t think so.
@@ProfessionalMonkey not the one under the seat, the one that connects to the USB cable in the side compartment next to the radio on 23 and older.

That hole to rear of the bike looks like it deserves a rubber grommet to prevent wire chaffing. Just me......
@@mikefisher4557 there is a plastic sleeve it goes through on the backside that stabilizes the wire.

FWIW. Android Auto users don't need an adapter or plug for the 2023 and older bikes. Just have to plug the phone into the bikes usb cable.
That’s pretty sweet
