These last two paintball episodes were the reason Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios hired the Russo Brothers to direct _Captain America: The Winter Soldier_ which led them to direct _Civil War_ and _Avengers: Infinity War_ as well as its sequel.

This shows so well written every character is so good I’m trying to get into the office but it’s like too normie for me should I give it another go??

Plot is paperthin tho, it relies on them having to win the game to win the money and save greendale but they dont rlly need that money not only does the dean get over 40.000 dollars for every class he supplies to his students, pierce has over 14 mil on his own

There's a deleted scene to this episode that I highly suggest watching. It does a good job of setting up the Shirley-rescuing-Britta scene.

For all his faults, Pierce definitely adds value to the group.
He actually has two lines that are probably my favorite from the show. The first is when he’s getting a row boat for the sailing class and he basically tells Jeff how he never let being bad at something stop him from trying. When he’s done Jeff wishes him luck and Pierce says, “Don’t need it. Never had it.” The other was when he had the hearing aid listening device. After he gets rid of it he tells Jeff people are only really meant to hear things around them because the people are in that range are the ones we love. I don’t know why but I always loved that sentiment.
@@NoPowerintheVerse Those are great moments. I really wish Dan wouldn’t have started writing him as such a villain later and kept more of his season 1 qualities
For sure he adds value. However, I do think when someone's personal flaw is to antagonize others (as pierce admits) to push them out of his life, it is a natural consequence that the separation happens.
12:27 There were two Cougartown actors standing there. Community and Cougartown kind of had a meta crossover thing going on at the time. Danny Pudi actually appears in the background in an episode of Cougartown in character as Abed. He told Jeff about being invited to the set as an extra in the Dinner with Andre episode.
I love how much Suraj loves this show. His face of pure glee during every episode never ceases to make me smile.
one of my favoriate things about the painball episodes is that as soon as anyone get's shot they just leave... like if you got shot and you were cheating you could still get paint on people...

That was Dan Harmon and that is why you all should watch the Community webisodes, at least the pre season ones where he explains about Greendale. And his first season performance review of the cast.

Abed was really obsessed with the show and Dani Pudi actually had a cameo in Cougar Town as well.

12:51 I just realised this. Abed says starburns uses some kind of crystal and later on we find out he has been making crystal meth and died because of the explosion of his meth lab in his car. Its crazy how they think things ahead.
There is crystal salt deodorant and other alternatives. The comment wasn't about drugs specifically, it was about him being a countercultural hippie (which stereotypically goes hand in hand with references to substance use).
Season 3 gets more gimmicky and depending on your tastes, it's the best!

I love how they used the bomb robot as a mouse droid in the scene with dan harmon in the picture
People can say what they want but Pierce completed the group, when he left there was a huge hole that his character left when he wasn't in later seasons or when they tried 2 replace him. I didn't enjoy it as much without the original Pierce. He was kinda irreplaceable as the Pierce of the group. In one episode S1 when he pranks Shirley they speak the truth when they say who is gonna be the new Pierce and they pick various people to make them the scapegoat and there you realise everyone is needed in the group. But as their own specific character in the group. Everyone is necessary even Pierce, to complete the group dynamics. Without him the group has no flaw. You need Pierce 2 be the flawed part of the group. For the groups own good, because the studygroup is itself a character. With the resultant bad and good the studygroup effects at Greendale. And representing Greendale's diversity.

Kait Stewart To me it only seemed like Annie liked Abed when he was pretending to be someone else (ie Han and Don Draper). When Abed was just being Abed she didn’t ever seem to show any interest in him. (Admittedly I stopped watching after season 3 so I don’t know if there was anything later in the series that gave that pairing more support).
Jeff and Annie are the best ship even though Abed and Annie are my favourite characters.
If only Jeff were younger or Annie was older it could have been serious
@@NoPowerintheVerse There was a quick thing in season 5 I think where they seem like they're having a moment and then Abed tells her not to kiss him because he has a girlfriend. He explains it seemed like she was about to lean in and she denies doing so.

20:52 he didn't do the right thing in the end. If you think about it, he probably spent over $100,000 just fucking with them over the course of the season. He could have easily donated the money without winning it. He was the only one not playing for the prize, but to win favor with the other students, and in the end he won their favor (and yours) by paying for it.
That $100,000 was important to everyone but him, so giving it up is a sacrifice in everyone's eyes but his.
He didn't do the right thing in the end, he did the selfish thing, the thing that benefits him the most.
I do agree that Pierce gets more reverence than necessary sometimes. I think because his flaws are so prevalent, that when he does the bare minimum, he's looked at as more heroic than he would be if he wasn't so chaotic.

But he also wasn't IN the group decision that the prize money should go to Greendale. He was in City College custody... He donated the prize money back to Greendale purely off his own back, not to win favour with the other students (he doesn't know they have a plan!) But because Greendale needs it.

After so many years of rewatching it, I still consider the previous episode superior to this one. The recreation of the western world is more compelling, more sophisticated. And the music is great. But 2x24 is a blast too. I watched these two back to back, the first time. It was one big nerdgasmic blast.
You are going to enjoy season 3 if you do season 3.

Way late here. But just occurred to me... I'm pretty sure changing what you where in the middle of a game of paintball would mean you automatically loose since how could you show you didn't have paint on what you wore when you started? So Pierce shoulnd't have won.

so many normies today claim to be geeks, and when you put them to the test, you get the disappointing result that they are just normies posing as geeks.

Warning; Season 3 is not good as season 2. Except a few of episodes, it's pretty mediocre actually. Season 2 is the best of Community. There's no better or equal one. Pierce is gonna come back for season 4. But at the end of the season 4 he's leaving for real. Also Donald Glover (Troy) leaving in the middle of season 5 and Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) leaving at the end of season 5.
Final Info; Chang's gonna push the limits of insanity in season 3. You'll be shocked.
Thing one: Annie and Abed are the Community OTP. Thing Two: It's not quite the same as Marvel's big theme, but the musical bit at the end when Britta and Shirley are kicking ass is super similar to Marvel's grandiose theme
I've seen this episode a dozen times and only now do I realize the City College troopers are supposed to look like Stormtroopers. smh
