Just a tip from a fellow mercedes guy; You can find out how many E500 wagons there are in your country by using the VIN number. (i dont know if DMV/DVLA in the uk keeps track of this but i would certanly think so, we do in Norway at least). The VIN on your car should start with WDB211270. The sedan model is named WDB211070 or 072 depending if its a facelift car or not. We have only 8 of your kind ever registered here in Norway. Congratis on a super rare 211.
Lovely spec - dream car! CLS steering wheel seems like and front bumper from W211 facelift so definitely someone fiddled with that as you mentioned in the video.
Really nice car. I had a merc of this era and rust was an issue even with the car 8 years old. You look to have got yourself a really, really, good one. Looking forward to more videos on this.
Your NOT crazy! I bought a 2005 E500 wagon for $2,000 but the mechanic yesterday said it needs like $5,000 in repairs. So I halved that price by leaving the airmatic suspension that’s broken in place which I’ll eventually swap out for “conversion kit” to springs = and the car still starts and runs as if it doesn’t care about its issues = it’s at 200,000+ miles now. Still going!
I had a good guess at this, I am a Merc fan boy but I've not been in the game that long hence I couldn't get the model in the community post. I've had a Merc of this era so some of the switchgear is familiar to me. This is a lovely bus Jason, looking forward to the videos on this car. Radar cruise control! This is a 2006 car, mental! The speakers in the roof at the back threw me, watch out if you change the HU and there is HK speakers in the car as some aftermarket HU's won't work or they didn't a few years ago.
Great intro Jason. I had my w211 stage 1 remapped and it vastly improved the 0-30mph. Changed to a bmw5 series touring now but still loved the E Class.
Excellent purchase, where can you get so much power and spec for the money? With the cost of diesel, even thirsty petrols look appealing now! From my experience with MB dealers (I have a 32 year old 190E) they are generally well priced on most stuff (more often than not less than the Bay of E) and for anything not in stock it’s three days.. not bad.
I like the looks of you car, Keep It, Don't sell it, it's a rare gem. I own an 04 E500 4matic wagon. It is almost as fully optioned your car. I hope to keep this car for a long time. I am building a M113K engine I will install in the near future along with larger brakes and wheels. My driving experience with this car has been rewarding. I'm hoping my modification will make driving the car even more rewarding.
Great car and great video. I'm in the market for a 211 E500 or E55 to replace my E39 528i. Do you still have this car? If so, would you even consider selling it?
Question tho' because of UK specs are right steering config makes them a bit more rare as they were build for right side driving originally. Should be part why that one is "rare"? I have a 2003 S211 E500 from 2003 prior to the facelift imported to Sweden from Germany. I love the car a ton!
Serious spec jealousy. I have a 2009 MY S211 320 CDI with a Brabus box. Are there speakers in the tailgate too? V8 is great but think you really have to like 20mpg to look past a diesel, especially when you can tune them up to 270PS with a £200 box.
I just personally prefer petrol! It’s also not getting used every day, I work from home, so the fuel economy is much of a muchness to me! Yes for some reason even the boot has speakers in the HK system 😂
@@TyredFormat well given diesel is 30p a litre more you can definitely make the case for petrol. Any options it doesn't have? It really is a 🦄 spec. I think there was some crazy extending power boot floor I've seen.
Looks like yours is a facelift , bonnet and front bumper are definitely facelift (but could be changed ,not easy as the rake different), visible twin pipes on back also suggest facelift? Are you sure not a 5.5 m273 ?? I have an E430 W210 M113 , M112 and M113 engines are the best merc made !! Looks great for 5k...
I recently bought E220 2004 S211. Lovely car. Many problems… but it was just shity luck. Love the car tho, many missing things a lot to update. If I also want a massage do I need to buy a new salon or I just need the modules?
@@TyredFormat yes indeed- Americans love a big guzzler. Actually mentioned it as I thought u might find it useful for some maintenance aspects though this guy is a merc master tech and has a workshop too! Lucky bugger!
Lovley wagon ;). Sad thing is that spending the money on a AMG pre historic Merc would give you more Mercedes. Talking £ by £ and you could get a faster, better, more "Nuremberg" rocked if you used the same money on a Volvo 945 2.3........ lovley cruiser all day long tho ;)
Lovely car, can you imagine going to the dealer to collect that brand new, still looks amazing now, very good purchase indeed sir👍

I just bought a 04 E500 4MATIC Wagon same green with stone leathers..

@MartinOShieldWindyCitySDR Once bought it just needed rear struts to pass inspections $1800 dodge serious bullet.

The colour is super rare. My boss had the same colour on his C320 Cdi, with Medium Red Leather! Hens teeth now. Great vid, thank you

Any info on the remapping? I just picked up a cherry 2003 e500 sport in the states.
hey man, i am in between buying e60 touring or w211 estate, how is the comparison seeing that you have owned both?
Far more interesting than an Up! Looking forward to more content
Just picked up my 2nd E500 S211 Sunday. Literally same spec bar the colour and wheels. Mine even has the AMG kit and exhaust.
Love the Carlsson wheels on the W211. Nice looking car.
Looking forward to this. Love this model! Will definitely be watching along with this car.

Great video - such an interesting car, more so than a new VW!

Awesome car, seems a good one condition wise, like you I love the shape. And I love the slumped driving position 🤣
What a car love a sleeper and I’d say this is the best sleeper you can buy for 5 grand what a result 👌🏼
Mate, this car has a lovely colour with a super fancy steering wheel matching the interior perfectly... hope to find such a car for the family.
Wow super nice spec! E500 wagon with keyless go, distronic, dynamic seats, that is a keeper!
Proper unicorn car. Very envious.
Secondary airpump makes that noise most likely.
Epic barge - is Daniel still crying from the sale??

I think he was being harsh on himself calling his voice a 'whine' 🤭🤭
Great W211… also a very rare colour. Am a big fan, owning a 2005 E350 AvantGarde. Hope you have a long enjoyable life together, as I have :-)
love it mate, well setup too!

Did you part exchange a E39 528i estate many years ago for a P38 4.0 range rover?
The best wagon ever made. The 55 is even cooler
I hope you get a chance to drive the E55 AMG estate with the supercharged 5.4l V8...
It's a great looking car, I did not know they had this engine 😮

Beautiful exterior colour
Holy shit, is that what Dan sounds like 🤣🤣🤣
Those wheels!!! Lorinser ?!
Cool green wagon!!!
I put a Pioneer 360DAb in mine, wireless android and carplay, dab antenna, works pretty well.
Love a 5.0ltr what ever the badge. Gotta have some woft in ya life👍
Looks really cool, very interesting background
Please get some new plates for it, tatty old ones spoil the look
Keep it up
Cheers! I had a company called RetroPlates make me some Mercedes Benz of Chelsea dealer plates (it was there a lot in the service history)
Absolutely perfect

Mine was specced from new with these seats! Not sure whats needed to add them in later.
Looks as good as I'd hoped! I did ask on CS, but does it have an electric armrest? Haha
No! That’s one thing that isn’t electronic 😂
Class car apart from the colour 👌
Legit Street Car ? ... a few E500-or similar "wagons" on that channel IIRC
Assuming that’s an American channel. Obviously, the states got way more E500s than the UK.
