    Great job! I’m fairly new to woodworking so I’m about to undertake flip carts for some of my tools. Great design and great job on showing the build!

    I like the sticking out 2x4 which looks more sturdy and easier on the side panel than other designs.

    Nicely done. You vid is the only one I have watched that uses part of the frame of the top that works as a stop. Great minds think alike.

    I made one of these. My goal was smallest footprint and optimum height for operation of each tool. It's for my Dewalt planer and Ridgid oscillating sander. I had to skip the lower drawer because when planning I like my wood at waist level, so I only have to balance it at the planer rather than support it. I build all my tool stands/carts so the tool that's on them is right where I like to use it. That's #1, then comes design....

    I like your design of the 2x sticking out for more support. Great idea! Also like how you put more than one tool on the top. I’ll do the same on both sides. I have a 15” floor planer so it won’t go on it. Just other smaller tools. I’ll make mine a little wider to accommodate. Retired cabinet builder here. No plans needed. Thanks for your video! Enjoyed it!!

    Nice cart - would be great if you made the plans available to view or buy.
    Also I couldn’t help noticing you didn’t appear to be using any eye protection, ear protection or dust protection. It’s not a huge issue for a single project (although it just takes one bad event to cause some lasting damage) - but If you’re going to be doing a lot of this type of work, protecting your eyes, your hearing and your lungs is critical.

    With such a long and deep drawer (that's what she said) I like using 4 total rails (two on each side). It really ads to the sturdiness of the drawer if you ever put more and more in there and it starts getting really heavy and gets pulled all the way out. Very cool build thanks for making the video!

    Toggle latches would be another great option for this . I love the idea of 180 degree rather than the whole 360 degree rotation as far as tool safety alone and the fact it is smarter as far as when you are running power like this.

    Good, I like the 3 connection for power. Takes less space and cheaper than the power strip. I like the blind nuts to hold the equipment.
    The bad I think the planer should be rotated 90 degrees. That when running lumber it’s side to side. Or you decide to incorporate the planer in a miter saw counter top it will fit right in.
    The Ugly. Having the casters on out riggers takes away from the aesthetics of the cabinet and makes a trip hazard.
    I wish you would’ve mentioned the width. Great 👍 video.

    Nicely done...ever think of adding weight to the sander side to better balance the flip ?? Also you have the wheels sticking out from the sides...any reason as they will take up more room...
    Planning to build a flip myself for a metal chop saw and a miter saw on the other side...

    • @averagediyguy2503
      @averagediyguy2503  2 года назад +1

      Could but not sure if it could handle enough weight to balance. Wheels are out for drawer depth. The drawer would be pointless if I had to remove enough height for the wheels.

    Nice piece of work!! One question though?? Why, when you were so meticulous about the build, would you resort to a wood screw to act as a drawer pull?? I noticed you have the same setup on your big bench drawers?? As the King in the musical "The King and I" said, "Tis a puzzlement!!"

    Why not put an outlet on each side of the table surface? It would be handy for plugging in other tools and you wouldn’t have to disassemble it to get access to the plug.

    • @averagediyguy2503
      @averagediyguy2503  11 месяцев назад

      Then I'd have to feed all the tool cords through the pivoting pipe instead of just 1 power cord. The pipe isn't big enough to fit the heads and all the cords.

    • @tonycosta3302
      @tonycosta3302 11 месяцев назад

      @@averagediyguy2503 I meant so there would be outlets on the same surface as the tools. So they can plug directly into the outlets. You can even recess the plug boxes into the top surface for a more seamless look.
